Warren Huntly’s Saturday Flemington Preview Posted on November 3, 2023November 3, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 HEMAN should relish 1600m in a race where there appears to be a solid tempo. BRAVE MEAD sprinted well when clear last start and gives the impression 1600m will be ok. ERSA has appreciated getting out beyond 1300m at her last two starts and should get every chance from the inside draw. INFLUNETIAL broke his maiden impressively last start and can make his own luck. Selections: 2,1,7,5 Suggested Bet: Heman to win Race 2 ATHABASCAN backs up from a luckless run at Moonee Valley, he has tactical versatility and his previous form was solid. MOSTLY CLOUDY races well here and his form ties in with Athabascan. LADIES MAN is a strong Kiwi stayer, he’s returned in great form and recorded a Group 1 WFA win last start. KALAPOUR brings some solid NSW staying form and should get a soft run. Selections: 3,4,1,2 Suggested Bet: Athabascan to win Race 3 ROSE QUARTZ may need some luck from the inside draw but should be at peak fitness now and handles the straight well. LEMPICKA has obviously returned in great form and will appreciate what should be a solid tempo. DANCING ALONE tackles much stronger company but has handled the straight and makes her own luck. GHAANATI was solid behind Lempicka and is getting back to something like her promising early form. Selections: 6,5,10,11 Suggested Bet: Rose Quartz each way Race 4 TRIPLE MISSILE had jumped out well prior to his good return behind Star Patrol. He should strip fitter and the speed through Najem Suhail and others should suit. CHAIN OF LIGHTNING chased well behind Asfoora first up, she has a strong second up record and the step up to 1200m is in her favour. GARZA BLANCA comes back in trip and will be strong late. SPACEWALK and C’EST MAGIQUE and IT’SOURTIME have claims. Selections: 5,2,12,7 Suggested Bet: Triple Missile to win Same Race Multi – Triple Missile (Top 2) + Chain of Lightning (Top 3) Race 5 ZARDOZI sprinted well to win over 1600m last time, she gives every impression she’ll cope with 2000m and has been kept up to the mark with a trial between runs. AETHELFLAED won in the manner of a promising stayer last start and has been well conditioned with that run at 2000m. HARLOW MIST was unsuited dropping back to 1550m last start but still ran well. Her previous form, including her win here over 1800m, has her in the game. SUBRISING gives the impression she’ll appreciate 2000m. KONASANA is fit, consistent and will be better for her last run at 2000m. Selections: 1,10,4,7 Suggested Bet: Zardozi to win Race 6 Great race with a big field. Speed most likely to come from OZZMOSOS and CELUI but that could obviously vary. CYLINDER stuck on well in The Everest against our elite sprinters and is drawn for clear air late. SHINZO has had excuses this campaign and has jumped out well down the straight recently. I AM UNSTOPPABLE measured up well with Cylinder earlier in the year and has been effective down the straight. BUTCH CASSIDY has been freshened since a brave effort in the Golden Rose and was luckless at his only straight run. STRETAN ANGEL showed some versatility last start, I’d expect her to be ridden to be charging late. Selections: 2,1,10,13 Suggested Bet: Cylinder each way Race 7 RIFF ROCKET was disappointing as an odds on favourite last start but that race developed into a dash home and he was dominant here over 1800m previously. APULIA came through the same race as Riff Rocket to score well at Moonee Valley last week, he backs up again and gives the impression 2500m will be ok. MERCANTE shapes as a genuine stayer and has relished getting out to 2000m at his last two runs. GATES comes through the same race as Riff Rocket and others and wasn’t suited by the slow early tempo. Selections: 4,1,13,8 Suggested Bet: Riff Rocket to win Feature Race Multi – Riff Rocket (Top 2) + Apulia and Mercante (Top 4) Race 8 Should be a strong tempo with Deny Knowledge and Pride of Jenni engaged. ATISHU had a bit against her in the King Charles and ran well under the circumstances. HOPE IN YOUR HEART had similar excuses in the King Charles and with luck from the inside draw has strong claims. PRINCESS GRACE appeared to have her chance last start behind LIFE LESSONS but her previous form was strong behind Mr Brightside and she should appreciate getting back to 1600m. ALCOHOL FREE has had a couple of tough runs lately, if she’s come through them ok then she’s right in the game. Selections: 4,12,2,3 Suggested Bet: Atishu each way Race 9 MUNHAMEK will need some luck from the wide draw but there should be a solid tempo and he has jumped out well to maintain his good first up record. KALINO will appreciate that tempo and has been kept up to the mark with a jumpout between runs. TAMERLANE (synthetic hoof filler both front hooves) controlled an easier race last time and will be part of the speed. HERE TO SHOCK was below his best in a high pressure Toorak and may appreciate coming back to 1400m. VILANA and AYRTON have claims. Selections: 8,12,5,10 Suggested Bet: Munhamek each way Market Market
