Warren Huntly’s Saturday Caulfield Preview Posted on February 7, 2025February 7, 2025 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 LIBERAMI has worked home well at both runs this prep and gives the impression 1600m will be ok. ONE LONG DAY is racing in great form for the new stable and is proven at the trip. RED PHANTOM has jumped out in good style leading into this prep and can improve third up. BUR DUBAI kicks off his local career at a trip short of his best but has trialled well and is a query runner. FEARLESS WRITER will strip fitter third up and has claims. Selections: 9,1,3,6 Suggested Bet: Liberami each way Race 2 INEVITABLE AWARD may have been too close to the speed last time and his previous win reads well. EMPHASIZE impressed breaking his maiden last start. He was a late scratching after parting company with the rider pre-race last week. PERFECT PLAY has been progressing well this campaign and should get a soft run with a claim. CABLE DANCER improved nicely second up and gets blinkers. Selections: 7,10,3,4 Suggested Bet: Inevitable Award each way Race 3 SHAIYHAR may need some luck from the draw but can be explosive at his best and finds another suitable race. SPEYCASTER worked home well first up and will appreciate the rise in distance. BERKSHIRE BREEZE is a quality stayer resuming that has been jumping out well. BANKERS CHOICE can be a bit hit and miss but maps for a good run. Selections: 8,10,2,1 Suggested Bet: Shaiyhar each way Race 4 ALEPPO PINE impressed winning on debut and may have made progress during a break if his latest jumpout is a guide. FIELD OF PLAY was another impressive debutant winner who has jumped out in good style to return to the track. VICTORY TUNE had excuses on debut and has jumped out in great style to resume gelded. TYCOON STAR had a productive first prep and has trialled well. Selections: 2,3,14,1 Suggested Bet: Aleppo Pine to win Race 5 MY GLADIOLA was most impressive winning the Preview on debut and doubt the wide draw from the chute start will be any real concern. She should be improved by that run and looks suited stepping up to 1100m. WILTSHIRE SQUARE chased well behind My Gladiola and should also appreciate the extra 100m. EXIT closed of well in a recent jumpout and shapes as a debutant with a good degree of talent. PALM ANGEL also come through the My Gladiola race and will strip fitter. GIN SPIRIT impressed winning in Adelade on debut following some encouraging jumpout work. MISS CELINE was ok behind My Gladiola and gets winkers. Selections: 1,4,10,3 Suggested Bet: My Gladiola to win Race 6 MAHARBA was luckless at Group 1 level in Perth before a break and has jumped out in great fashion. REY MAGNERIO has race/jumpout form that ties in with Maharaba and seems to be progressing well for his return. BAND OF BROTHERS gets some weight relief and has a race fitness advantage on a few. TITLE FIGHTER had excuses last start in a strong race. INSURRECTION has trialled well in Sydney. Selections: 2,4,9,6 Suggested Bet: Maharba each way Race 7 EVAPORATE has to be forgiven his Cox Plate run, his previous three year old form was high class and he’s jumped out in terrific style to resume. ANGEL CAPITAL also brings some strong three year old form from earlier in the season and also appears to be progressing well at the jumpouts. CATOGGIO has a fitness edge and will give a sight rising the speed. DETROIT CITY has jumped out ok to resume with blinkers off. Selections: 1,2,3,4 Suggested Bet: Evaporate each way Race 8 MUNHAMEK comes through a key lead up race that developed into a sprint home and gets a the best of the weights from that race. CHORLTON LANE seemed to have his chance last start, not sure the inside draw is ideal but gets B.Shinn. WINGS OF SONG and MARBLE ARCH come through the same race as Munhamek and both should appreciate a likely more genuine tempo. ELPHINSTONE rises in grade but is fit, flying and seems to love 1600m on firm ground. Selections: 3,4,9,11 Suggested Bet: Munhamek each way Same Race Multi: Munhamek (Top 2) + Chorlton Lane (Top 4) Race 9 MR BRIGHTSIDE has been a benchmark Group 1 WFA horse in this distance range for a few seasons and seems to be trialling as well as ever. SCHWARZ has the advantage of a run under the belt, you’d expect him to press forward and expose any vulnerability in Mr B First up. ANOTHER WIL has always indicated Group 1 ability and has been jumping out in great style to resume. STEPARTY chased well behind Schwarz first up and also has a fitness edge on a few. PINSTRIPED is effective first up, he has a Group 1 victory to his credit over Mr B and has jumped out in good style to resume. Selections: 1,7,5,4 Suggested Bet: Mr Brightside to win Race 10 Competitive finish. ARABIAN SUMMER has trialled well with Mr Brightside since arriving back from Qld. (Equicast front feet as a late gear change some concern but hard to beat assuming all is ok). TOBEORNOTTOBE has jumped out particularly well alongside Growing Empire and Estriella. CERTAIN RISE and RICH DOTTIE have both shown promise and have been jumping out in good style. DRIFTING has trialled well in Sydney and win her only start here. Selections: 4,2,3,8 Suggested Bet: Arabian Summer to win Market Market
