She looks promising and has handled soft ground well. CLIMBING STAR won her debut on soft ground in impressive fashion, she also looks promising. HELL HATH NO FURY will be close to peak fitness third up and comes through some strong races. DESIAH comes through the same form line as Hell Hath No Fury and gets winkers on. Selections: 1,7,3,5 Suggested Bet: Quinella/Exacta: 1 & 7 Race 2 SAINT BATHANS hit the line well in the Seymour Cup last start and was an impressive winner on heavy ground three runs back. CAP DE JOIE has looked good in all her runs for the Ryan stable and should relish 1700m. SEINERS EXPRESS had no luck last start and his form through TUVALA and I’M THUNDERSTUCK reads well for this class. RIGHT YOU ARE ran well first up off a lengthy break and is suited by the rise in trip. Selections: 6,11,5,3 Suggested Bet: Saint Bathans each way Race 3 MR MAESTRO is part of a formidable team Andrew Forsman has brought for NZ for the carnival and he looks the one to beat again. He ran through the line strongly to win over 1800m last start and 2000m looks suitable. RED SUN SENSATION tried hard behind Mr Maestro last start, blinkers going on may help bridge the gap. DISTRUSTFUL AWARD had some excuses in the same race two runs back and has won his maiden impressively since. DREAM HOUR and MURAMASA have some claims. Selections: 1,2,6,4 Suggested Bet: Mr Maestro to win Race 4 Competitive race. PAVITRA rode the speed in a strong form race in Sydney last start and under the circumstances battled on quite well. MOKO is a maiden but she didn’t have much luck last start and shapes as through this trip will suit. RENAISSANCE WOMAN comes through the same race as Pavitra and looks suited stepping up in distance. FOXY CLEOPATRA looked good winning at Moonee Valley last start and is in the mix with WHAKAMANA and CABACA. Selections: 3,1,5,8 Suggested Bet: Pavitra each way Race 5 Another competitive race. ANGRY SKIES may have been in slightly inferior ground last start and Elliptical and Bank Maur have run well in the Caulfield Guineas out of that race. SANDPAPER and SKETCHED both covered ground against the pattern at Moonee Valley last start and ran well under the circumstances. EPONYMOUS ran out of room late back near the inside in the same race as Sandpaper and Sketched. HE’LL RIP broke his maiden in good style last time. Selections: 12,6,9,8 Suggested Bet: Angry Skies each way Race 6 A VERY FINE RED ran well without the best of luck first up and gets blinkers back on. Not sure how wet ROSE QUARTZ wants it but she will strip fitter and is suited by the slight rise in trip. JUAN DIVA and NAJMATY bring some solid Queensland form and both are effective fresh. MILEVA will appreciate a drop in grade. SHALSTAR looks progressive and is a soft track winner. NEVERSTANDINGSTILL is racing in great form and seems to handle all conditions. Selections: 11,6,3,1 Suggested Bet: A Very Fine Red each way Race 7 DRAGONSTONE has trialled well to resume. He handles rain effected ground, is effective first up and gets blinkers first time. ASFOORA and ASHORD STREET both had no luck in the same race last start. This is tougher but both get weight relief, particularly Ashford Street. GENERATION has jumped out nicely between runs and drops back from Group 1 level. KALLOS and EXPRESS PASS have claims. Selections: 9,8,11,2 Suggested Bet: Dragonstone to win Race 8 Typically competitive mares race. PRIDE OF JENNI blew her chances at the start last time and did well to get as close as she did under the circumstances. PALAISIPAN brings some strong interstate form lines and will strip fitter third up. FLYING MASCOT was below her best last start, she’s been freshened and has jumped out well between runs. CHAIN OF LIGHTNING gets to 1400m for the first time and had excuses at her only defeat to date. FORTUNATE KISS has had no luck of late. KISSONALLFORCHEEKS and EXCELIDA have undeniable claims. Selections: 13,4,9,15 Suggested Bet: Pride of Jenni each way Race 9 SMOKIN’ ROMANS has secured a spot in the Caulfield Cup with an extremely light weight on the back of some outstanding recent performances. He has tactical versatility and seems to handle all track surfaces. BENAUD worked home well at Group 1 WFA level last week and looks set to peak on the day. Conversely, ALEGRON has had a gap between runs but had the better of Benaud last start. INSPIRATIONAL GIRL may need some luck from the inside draw but she hit the line well behind Smokin’ Romans last start. NUMERIAN, NONCONFORMIST and GREAT HOUSE could be worth including in multiples. Selections: 17,10,9,12 Suggested Bet: Smokin’ Romans each way Race 10 Tough finish. AEGON raced in the worst ground first up in NZ. The stable is having a good run with their spring team and the fact that they have brought him to Australia is a positive lead in itself. BANDERSNATCH hit the line well first up behind I Wish I Win and handles wet tracks. OLD FLAME backs up after having no luck last week. CATALYST gave an indication of a return to from last start and gets blinkers back on. LADY OF HONOUR is flying and coming back to 1400m could be a positive.
