Trent’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on May 19, 2016 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: GLOUCESTER STANDARDBREDS WESTBRED MS PACE TOMMY BE GOOD (2) disappointed in a stand two starts ago but returned to his best with a strong win last start when beginning from the back line. He is well drawn here and should prove hard to beat. DAMONDO (4) has been racing well and his last start 4th when breezing behind Naughty Maravu was full of merit. CYCLONE MITCH (8) can work forward to the breeze and should be in the finish. HUGH VICTOR (6) resumed from a spell with a solid 3rd off a back mark in a stand and will be suited by the small field. Tips: 2 4 8 6 Suggested Bet: TOMMY BE GOOD (2) to win. Race 2: FOLLOW THE STARS AT ALLWOOD STUD 3YO FILLIES MS PACE BETTOR BOA (9) won two in a row on country tracks before putting up a huge effort to finish a close 2nd to Dodolicious in the WA Oaks. Most of this field finished well behind her on that occasion and she is the one to beat despite the draw. CHEVRONS CHAMPION (6) had no luck in the Oaks and could be a big improver. MY PLATINUM BELLE (10) and JASMIN AMAL (3) finished 5th and 6th respectively in the Oaks and have draws that could see them figure in the finish. Tips: 9 6 10 3 Suggested Bet: BETTOR BOA (9) to win. Race 3: MILNE FEEDS THE PURE STEEL QUALIFYING HEAT 3 RICIMER (4) has won 10 of his 33 starts and makes his WA debut for the Hall camp tonight. He warmed up for this with a dominant Byford trial win in 1.57.4 and looks certain to win many races here. JAMBIANI (6) was a very strong 1.54.6 winner at his WA debut and must be considered on that effort. NAUGHTY MARAVU (3) couldn’t get into the race last start but has gate speed and should give a sight here. SHIRLZ SENSATION (7) is drawn awkwardly but has the ability if the race is run to suit. Tips: 4 6 3 7 Suggested Bet: RICIMER (4) to win. Race 4: BUDGET STOCKFEEDS CONDITIONED HANDICAP SS PACE OUR IDEAL ACT (6) has resumed from a break with two strong wins including a last victory off a 50m handicap. He meets a better field tonight but has a handicap advantage over his main rival and is the one to beat with a safe start. NORVIC NIGHTOWL (11) resumed here last week with a stunning 1.53.4 victory. He is a proven standing start performer and can overcome his 30m handicap. CHANGE GEAR (10) is flying and should be considered, while GIVES ME CHILLS (1) doesn’t have great numerical form but could be an improver. Tips: 6 11 10 1 Suggested Bet: OUR IDEAL ACT (6) to win. Race 5: RAMSAYS HORSE TRANSPORT MS PACE BILLIES A STAR (4) hasn’t been placed for seven months but has plenty of ability. He did things wrong at the start when a great 4th behind Elegant Christian at his latest run and, with the aid of the barrier advantage over his main rivals, can run a big race tonight. RUN ONEOVER (8) did all the work when a great 2nd in 1.53.4 at his first run back from a spell and is proven in this class. SIMPLY SUSATIONAL (7) has been ultra-impressive in winning his last three starts and looks up to the rise in class. MIGHTY FLYING THOMAS (6) is a place chance. Tips: 4 8 7 6 Suggested Bet: BILLIES A STAR (4) to win. Race 6: LANDMARK MIDVALE MS PACE ELEGANT CHRISTIAN (4) started from barrier nine when a 1.56.1 winner in good company on a slow track last start. He gets the chance to use his gate speed from this draw and will run a big race. WAYLADE (2) was rated as WA’s best chance in the Inters but didn’t produce his best. He resumes here without a trial but will be hard to beat if close to his top. PACIFIC WARRIOR (1) is drawn to be in the finish, while CHIEF THUNDERCLOUD (10) has finished 2nd at his last four starts and won’t be far away again. Tips: 4 2 1 10 Suggested Bet: ELEGANT CHRISTIAN (4) to win. Race 7: WASBA BREEDERS STAKES IDEAL ALICE (1) was an ultra-impressive winner last week when she did all of the work in the last lap. She looks the leader here and will take no end of beating. LADY WILLOUGHBY (2) has only missed a place once this campaign and should be thereabouts from this draw. JUNGLE JEWEL (11) should enjoy a nice run from her trailing draw and will be finishing hard. DELIGHTFUL JADE (3) was caught in the breeze last start and can play a part with a better run in transit. Tips: 1 2 11 3 Suggested Bet: IDEAL ALICE (1) to win. Race 8: LARKHILL VETS MS PACE GLENLOCHAR (5) has been flying of late with two wins and a 2nd from his last three starts. He faced the breeze when too good in similar company at his last run and is the one to beat. SIR TOSTI MACH (1) won four out of five recently but has been hampered by bad draws at his last few starts. He gets the pole tonight and can improve sharply. PHOENIX WARRIOR (8) and LETTUCERIPRITA (11) competed in the same event last start with the former victorious and both horses are capable of being in the finish. Tips: 5 1 8 11 Suggested Bet: GLENLOCHAR (5) to win. Race 9: FRESH EXPRESS MS PACE TWOANDAHALF TIGERS (9) has 8 wins and 3 placings from 11 starts this season. He rounded up Offtocullect last start with a 55.3 last half and this looks to be a slight drop in class. HIDDEN BAD (1) and BETTORS GEM (2) have been racing well and have the draws to test the favourite over the sprint trip. AEREUS MAXIMUS (8) has hit top form and should win an M0 shortly. Tips: 9 1 2 8 Suggested Bet: TWOANDAHALF TIGERS (9) to win. Race 10: VISION PRODUCE MS PACE MACH TIME (8) has been extremely impressive in winning his two runs after a strong 5th in the WA Derby and should be accounting for this field tonight. BETTOR NOT BITTER (11) has looked good in winning his last two starts on country tracks and is the obvious danger. STRAITTOTHEHILTON (12) was a dominant winner at his last start a month ago and warmed up for this with a solid Byford trial win. ATOMIC CHIP (1) doesn’t have the class of the other three but looks a place chance from the pole. Tips: 8 11 12 1 Suggested Bet: MACH TIME (8) to win. Bet Now!
