Trent’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on June 24, 2016June 27, 2016 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Coopers Tips Race 1: NEXANS OLEX MS PACE AMERICAN BOY (1) has won 11 of his 14 starts and did all of the work when comfortably accounting for a weaker field. He goes up significantly in class tonight but has the draw to lead and will prove very hard to catch. OUR SKY MAJOR (2) has won nearly $800,000 in stakes racing against the best in NZ but disappointed as a $1.10 favourite at his first run here but must be respected. COMMANDER CHAPEL (3) has plenty of ability and is one to watch in a new stable. BURNING (5) is racing very well but will find it hard from this draw. Tips: 1 2 3 5 Suggested Bet: AMERICAN BOY (1) to win. Race 2: LED GOLDFIELDS WESTBRED MS PACE BETTOR NOT BITTER (5) was very brave two starts back when he faced the breeze and pushed Mach Time all the way when a 2.9m 2nd to that talented pacer. He then disappointed backers when he led but was run down as a $1.20 favourite. The times were solid on that occasion and the lack of depth in this field means that he is clearly the one to beat. BATAVIA ACE (1), FISCALSMILE (2) and WESTERN DROVER (3) all lack the class of BETTOR NOT BITTER (5) but have the draws to make them competitive. Tips: 5 1 2 3 Suggested Bet: BETTOR NOT BITTER (5) to win. Race 3: LUMEX 3YO WESTSIRED COLTS AND GELDINGS MS PACE AMERICANBOOTSCOOTA (7) has come of age recently, winning three of his last four starts, all in good time. He has the barrier draw advantage over his main rival and that could be the difference. NEW WORLD ORDER (8) was ultra-impressive in winning his last two starts before a short break and warmed up for this with a comfortable Byford trial win. He probably has the most potential in this field and can overcome the draw. STRAITTOTHEBAR (3) and SQUILLIONS (6) look below the top two but can be placed. Tips: 7 8 3 6 Suggested Bet: AMERICANBOOTSCOOTA (7) to win. Race 4: NHP MS PACE TWOANDAHALF TIGERS (1) is aiming for his 20th consecutive placing tonight and should bring that up with the aid of the inside draw. He looks the likely leader and will be hard to run down. NORTHERN ASSASSIN (3) has shown that he is close to his best and will break through shortly. OUR JERICHO (4) has been racing in stands but did race well in a mobile during the Inters and must be considered. PHOENIX WARRIOR (9) is racing well and could be the best horse in the field but will find it tough from out here. Tips: 1 3 4 9 Suggested Bet: TWOANDAHALF TIGERS (1) to win. Race 5: LED ESPERANCE MARES MS PACE IDEAL ALICE (8) has won four of her last five including a last start all the way win over Waylade. She has shown her versatility in recent runs and can use her gate speed to land in front of her main rival. TRICKY STYX (12) was a fantastic 2nd first up and then couldn’t get into the race when they ran home in 55.1 last start and will be steaming home. DELIGHTFUL JADE (7) has finished runner up at her last two and will be a chance if she can cross them early. DIGITAL ART (10) should enjoy a nice run and can be in the money. Tips: 8 12 7 10 Suggested Bet: IDEAL ALICE (8) to win. Race 6: GERARD LIGHTING THE LOMBARDO FINAL FORMYEYESONLY (9) has won two of her three starts this campaign including a last start all the way in similar company. She drew the pole on that occasion and starts from the outside tonight but still appeals as the one to beat. SEA ME SMILE (1) and TYPHOON TAN (6) ran the placings behind FORMYEYESONLY (9) last start and would fancy their chances of turning the tables tonight. UAINTSEENNOTHINYET (12) was an all the way winner at her last start and can figure despite the back line draw. Tips: 9 1 6 12 Suggested Bet: FORMYEYESONLY (9) to win. Race 7: LED PERTH PAST PRESIDENTS CUP MS PACE CYAMACH (1) resumes from a spell after a very strong campaign. He has the gate speed to hold up and will be very hard to beat if he does lead. RUN ONEOVER (2) has been very good in his first four starts back from a spell and is a winning chance from the breeze but becomes a $1.20 if gifted the front so monitor the betting. CRUSADER BANNER (9) and THIS TIME DYLAN (3) will find it hard to win but are definite place hopes. Tips: 1 2 9 3 Suggested Bet: CYAMACH (1) to win. Race 8: SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC MS PACE WAYLADE (7) took his losing sequence to 12 when he loomed up to Elegant Christian but couldn’t quite get past him. The effort was still solid and he should break through shortly. IM A PEREGRINE (1) worked hard early last start and wasn’t disgraced in finishing 5th and will give a sight from the pole. CLASSIC AMERICAN (11) and OUR JIMMY JOHNSTONE (6) were both blocked for runs in the same race and can be in the money with better luck in running. Tips: 7 1 11 6 Suggested Bet: WAYLADE (7) to win. Race 9: LIGHTING BY LAKES 3YO WESTSIRED FILLIES MS PACE FOUR LEGGED FURY (2) has won two of her last four starts and that form stands out in this moderate affair. She won at Kellerberin two starts back before finishing 2nd to Soho Wall Street and looks extremely hard to beat. LUCKY IN PINK (1) was unplaced at her last five runs before a spell and resumes here without a trial but has changed stables and could be an improver. LAUGHING CHILD (4) has gate speed and could give cheek if she found the front. HOYLAKES NEXT LADY (5) is the best of the rest. Tips: 2 1 4 5 Suggested Bet: FOUR LEGGED FURY (2) to win. Race 10: PRYSMIAN TROTTERS DISCRETIONARY HANDICAP ARMED FORCE (3) is racing extremely well, especially from the stands. He won off 40 and 50 metre handicaps before a 3rd in a mobile event and is clearly the one to beat tonight. INVASIVE (8) is racing very consistently and should be thereabouts but is a query at the distance. ENJOY A COLDIE (6) has been placed at 8 of his last 11 and should be thereabouts again. MAKEMCRY MAORI (7) isn’t always reliable but has ability and warmed up with a recent Pinjarra trial win. Tips: 3 8 6 7 Suggested Bet: ARMED FORCE (3) to win. Bet Now!
