Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on February 27, 2020February 27, 2020 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 ICONIC VALOUR (2) won three on end late last year but has battled bad barriers of late. He is drawn inside his main rivals here and should give a great sight. MY CARBON COPY (10) has won five of his last six starts including an all-the-way victory here last week and will be hard to hold out if he sees daylight at the right time. GRINNY VINNIE (4) is flying but looks like being caught in the breeze again. BACK IN TWENTY (6) won two on end before being getting out late when 2nd to MY CARBON COPY (10) here last week and must be respected. Tips: 2 10 4 6 Suggested Bet: ICONIC VALOUR (2) to win. Race 2 NAVAL AVIATOR (1) has finished just behind the placegetters at his last three starts in stronger company than he meets tonight. He will be doing his best to boot through at the start and will be extremely hard to catch if he does hold the lead. THE DALI EXPRESS (11) has been placed at his last two starts and will be suited if there is a strong early tempo. SALEAHS COMMAND (5) led throughout last start in easier company but will give a sight if he crosses at the start. MARQUISARD (3) is racing well and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 1 11 5 3 Suggested Bet: NAVAL AVIATOR (1) to win. Race 3 WHILE THEY PRAY (12) has been placed at 13 of his past 14 starts and was a strong all-the-way winner in better company at his last start. He goes to the backline tonight but can work in his races and is clearly the one to beat. HOIHO (1) was crossed from this barrier last week and didn’t get a clear run but can hold up tonight and give a great sight. LIGHTNING JOLT (11) has impressed in his two runs since changing stables and must be considered. BEE SEVENTEEN (10) is drawn to get a lovely run on the pegs and should be thereabouts. Tips: 12 1 11 10 Suggested Bet: WHILE THEY PRAY (12) to win. Race 4 ICEENOTHINK (8) was rewarded for his consistency when he overcame a slow tempo to run over the top of his rivals here last week. He will be suited by the likely genuine pace tonight and will be hard to hold out. JIMMY MACK (12) has been placed at four of his last five starts and will break back into the winners’ circle shortly. TOUCH OF SUCCESS (7) has the gate speed to make things interesting early and is racing extremely well. YOU GOTTA HAVE FAITH (1) must be considered on his 1.55.9 all-the-way win here four starts back. Tips: 8 12 7 1 Suggested Bet: ICEENOTHINK (8) to win. Race 5 LADY JADORE (5) faced the breeze on debut when a strong winner and then was a comfortable all-the-way winner in her heat. She looked to do it easily last start and is clearly the one to beat. BENESARI LANE (4) faced the breeze when 3rd to LADY JADORE (5) in her heat and should be right in the finish with a better run in transit. ADORE ME SOME MORE (2) and SECRET REACTION (8) fought out the other heat with the former faring much better at the draw. Tips: 5 4 2 8 Suggested Bet: LADY JADORE (5) to win. Race 6 ROBBIE ROCKET (2) has led throughout to win both of his race starts. His times haven’t been as impressive as a couple of his rivals but he has the barrier advantage and should prove hard to beat. TALKS UP A STORM (5) was impressive in facing the breeze and winning his heat and looks a major player. GIVE US A WAVE (8) was the most impressive heat winner but has a tough draw to overcome. RICH AMERICAN (1) is drawn to get a lovely run and looks a good place chance. Tips: 2 5 8 1 Suggested Bet: ROBBIE ROCKET (2) to win. Race 7 SIMBA BROMAC (2) ran 2nd at four of his last five starts before going for a break. He resumes here without as trial but draws inside his main rivals and looks the one to beat. OCEAN RIDGE (4) won the Nights Of Thunder Final in a blistering 1.52.7 before disappointing here as favourite last start but should go better sat up. GOLDEN STATE (5) drops in class and should be suited by the small field. CHIAROSCURO (3) should be fitter at his third run back from a spell and can play a part from this draw. Tips: 2 4 5 3 Suggested Bet: SIMBA BROMAC (2) to win. Race 8 WHERE YA BIN (6) has three wins and five 2nds from his eight starts this time in. He has a handicap advantage over his main rivals and appeals as the one to beat. ALWAYS AN HONOR (8) ran a blistering last half when leading throughout here last start and is capable of overcoming his 10m handicap. ATMOSPHERICAL (7) is a proven standing start performer and is the other class runnier of this field. RUM DELIGHT (1) is a reliable beginner who can be placed from the pole. Tips: 6 8 7 1 Suggested Bet: WHERE YA BIN (6) to win. Race 9 MISS SANGRIAL (10) worked at both ends of the event when a 1.55.5 winner against a similar field last start. She will be out of the early speed battle tonight and will be charging home. FAKE NEWS (7) was nosed out by MISS SANGRIAL (10) last week but will be right in the finish again. ROSIES IDEAL (4) is first-up but warmed up for this assignment with a recent Pinjarra trial win and can play a part. MILEYS DESIRE (1) is in career best form and can run a race at big odds from the pole. Tips: 10 7 4 1 Suggested Bet: MISS SANGRIAL (10) each way. Race 10 RUN FOR MERCY (3) put the writing on the wall with a fast finishing 3rd to Double Expresso before leading throughout last start. She is the best drawn of the main chances and should give a great sight. MY SWEET DEAL (8) is probably the best filly in the field but has been plagued by bad barriers of late and is drawn poorly again. STAR FROMTHEPALACE (5) ran a narrow 2nd to RUN FOR MERCY (3) last start and must be considered. ADVANCE YOUR DREAM (4) was a good last start winner and won’t be far away. Tips: 3 8 5 4 Suggested Bet: RUN FOR MERCY (3) to win. Market Market
