Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on April 18, 2019April 18, 2019 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: BETTER SCOOT (1) has been racing in standing start events and has won two of his last three starts off handicaps. He returns to the mobile tonight and will give a great sight if he can hold up at the start. WARFARE (3) couldn’t have been more impressive in leading throughout to win his two WA starts and should be in the finish again. SOHO LEVIATHAN (10) was forced to do too much work first-up and can be an improver from this draw. THEREUGO (9) has blistering gate speed and has a recent Byford trial win under his belt. Tips: 1 3 10 9 Suggested Bet: BETTER SCOOT (1) to win. Race 2: KIMANI (5) ran consecutive 2nds behind Herrick Roosevelt before finishing a close up 5th here a fortnight ago. He has options at the start and should give a great sight. OUR ALFIE ROMEO (6) was a strong 2nd in the Empress Stakes before having no luck here last week and should play a part. THE ART FORM (7) has been costly to follow but has too much ability to overlook. LUIS ALBERTO (1) is flying and must be respected from the pole despite the rise in class. Tips: 5 6 7 1 Suggested Bet: KIMANI (5) to win. Race 3: MISTERSANDMAN (3) ran on well to record a narrow but impressive victory at this track in fast time at his last start. He has always shown flashes of ability and might be starting to put it together. HIGHROLLER JOE (4) has won two of his last five starts and shouldn’t be far away from this draw. FANCI A DANCE (8) has the most ability in the race but isn’t suited first up from the wide draw over the sprint trip. BLACK JACK ZAC (1) doesn’t have the class of his main rivals but can be in the money from the pole. Tips: 3 4 8 1 Suggested Bet: MISTERSANDMAN (3) each way. Race 4: DRACARYS (12) has won ten of her 15 career runs and has toyed with her opposition at her past three starts. This field has more depth and she goes to the backline but is still clearly the one to beat. BALCATHERINE (9) was desperately unlucky here last week and we will get to find out how good she is tonight from this draw. FAKE NEWS (2) caused the upset win last and should be thereabouts from this barrier. SOHO INTERCEPTOR (1) hasn’t been able to recapture her 2YO form but can be placed from the pole. Tips: 12 9 2 1 Suggested Bet: DRACARYS (12) to win. Race 5: WHOZIDEAWASTHIS (2) was an emphatic 1.53.6 winner here two starts back before producing a plain effort when starting from a wide draw last week. He has a perfect barrier tonight and can bounce back. VULTAN TIN (6) wasn’t suited by the sprint trip last week and will find this more to his liking. ALWAYS ARJAY (1) was surprisingly crossed from this draw last week but should be in the finish tonight. KIWI LEGEND (3) was an upset all-the-way winner over a similar field last week but probably won’t find the top tonight. Tips: 2 6 1 3 Suggested Bet: VULTAN TIN (6) each way. Race 6: SOHO WONDER (1) has impressed at his last two starts when running on into the money from bad draws. HASANI (11) was placed in three of his last four runs before finishing 5th behind Debt Free Charlie and has a nice trailing draw. LIBERTY ROSE (4) broke through for an overdue victory two starts back and is always a chance with the right trip in transit. JUST BET ON BLACK (3) was a good winner here three starts back and has the strength to make his presence felt from this draw. Tips: 1 11 4 3 Suggested Bet: SOHO WONDER (1) each way. Race 7: MARQUISARD (1) led here last week and was only nabbed on the line by Ideal One. He should lead again and will give a great sight. ACE BROMAC (5) ran on well to finish just behind the placegetters here a fortnight ago and can play a part. EL COMACHO (2) led and was beaten into 3rd in slick time last start and must be respected from this draw. WARRIORS CODE (11) is racing well and should be running on strongly from his nice trailing draw. Tips: 1 5 2 11 Suggested Bet: MARQUISARD (1) to win. Race 8: MIGHTY CONQUEROR (11) has won four of his last five starts, all in stands, and looks to have been set for this assignment. He has a 10m advantage over his main rivals and should prove hard to beat. CAVIAR STAR (13) has the best form in the event and is capable of overcoming his 30m handicap. BETTOR BE LIVELY (7) has been placed at his past three starts and can be in the money again. AS HAPPY AS LARRY (12) has been placed at seven of his last eight starts in strong company and can make his presence felt. Tips: 11 13 7 12 Suggested Bet: MIGHTY CONQUEROR (11) to win. Race 9: BLETCHLEY PARK (7) had an interrupted preparation for the WA Derby but made the most of a lovely run to finish 2nd to Major Trojan. He should strip fitter for that effort and has the turn of foot to overcome the wide draw. KNOW WHEN TO RUN (6) has been impressive in winning three of his six career starts and was a gallant 2nd to BACK IN TWENTY (4) after doing all of the work at his last start. ANA AFREET (5) has won five of his seven race starts and is ready for the rise in class. BACK IN TWENTY (4) was a solid winner in quick time last start and is drawn inside his main rivals. Tips: 7 6 5 4 Suggested Bet: BLETCHLEY PARK (7) to win. Race 10: COTT BEACH (1) overcame a backline draw to beat a stronger field last start and looks the leader and winner here. VEILED SECRET (2) should get a perfect sit behind the favourite and looks the obvious banker for trifectas. SALACIOUS GOSSIP (5) was a good last start winner and can be in the money with the right trip. SHE COULD BE GOOD (3) is likely to lob three back on the pegs and can be placed from that position. Tips: 1 2 5 3 Suggested Bet: Quinella COTT BEACH (1) & VEILED SECRET (2). Market Market
