Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on January 17, 2019 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 STEFSBEST (1) led throughout to win here two starts back before going to a new level when a 1.54.8 winner from the breeze at his last start. He should lead here and be extremely hard to beat. AS HAPPY AS LARRY (3) is capable of sprinting quickly off the right run and should be in the finish. IM SOXY (4) hasn’t had much luck at his last three starts but is racing well and won’t be far away. BENHOPE RULZ (7) has performed well at his past two starts but this draw makes it tough. Tips: 6 1 8 12 Suggested Bet: Quinella: STEFSBEST (1) & AS HAPPY AS LARRY (3). Race 2 GOLDEN STATE (4) won two in a row here before losing no admirers when 2nd to NEIGHLOR (5) from a wide draw here last week. He is drawn inside his main rival and should give a great sight. SIMBA BROMAC (7) has won 19 of his 32 starts and was first-up when a gallant 3rd here last week. He will strip fitter for that run and is the obvious danger. QTOWN RIP ROARING (1) sprinted brilliantly to win here last week and must be respected from the pole. NEIGHLOR (5) was a good all-the-way winner here last week but isn’t as well drawn tonight. Tips: 4 7 1 5 Suggested Bet: GOLDEN STATE (4) to win. Race 3 BETTOR VISION (1) led and was narrowly beaten by Stefsbest in 1.54.8 before defeating a weaker field here last week. He looks the likely leader and will give a great sight. BETTOR AIM (2) was a gallant 2nd in 1.55.0 here last start and has the strength to face the breeze and test the polemarker. CHIAROSCURO (3) was a good all-the-way here at his last start and is drawn to get a nice run just off the pace. CARTER MICHEAL (4) should settle handy and can run into the money. Tips: 1 2 3 4 Suggested Bet: BETTOR VISION (1) to win. Race 4 BRIGHT DIAMOND (3) has been thereabouts of late and has recorded a win in one of his two starts from the stand. He was held up at his last start but should give a great sight if he steps cleanly. CARRERA MACH (2) led and was narrowly beaten by ALWAYS ARJAY (11) in a similar event last start and meets that rival 10m better off at the handicap. ALWAYS ARJAY (11) is in career best from and must be respected. THE BUCKET LIST (12) has only won one of his past 23 starts and needs luck in his races but is the class runner. Tips: 3 2 1 11 Suggested Bet: BRIGHT DIAMOND (3) to win. Race 5 MY FIELD MARSHALL (3) has been impressive in winning his two WA starts and is hard to tip against from this draw. He has led on both of those occasions but is better known as a sit-sprinter so will be hard to beat however the race is run. GALACTIC STAR (7) worked hard in the final lap when 2nd to MY FIELD MARSHALL (3) in the Fremantle Cup and looks the main danger again. ROCKNROLL LINCOLN (2) was checked at a crucial stage last week and is a huge winning chance from this draw. EL JACKO (10) could be the blowout if they go hard. Tips: 3 7 2 10 Suggested Bet: GALACTIC STAR (7) each way. Race 6 MISTER BUSHIDO (6) finished 6th to the talented Ana Malak at his last start in NZ and that is obviously a good form line for this race. He is first up for the Hall camp and hasn’t trialled so monitor the betting. LIBERTY ROSE (11) followed a slashing first-up run with a slightly disappointing 3rd here last week but they did run home in 55.7 on that occasion and Hall Jnr has stuck with her over the new stablemate. BRONZE SEEKER (9) has been won his last two but is drawn wide. SERGEANT OATS (4) is racing well and won’t be far away. Tips: 6 11 9 4 Suggested Bet: MISTER BUSHIDO (6) to win. Race 7 CAVIAR STAR (5) was a dominant winner from the stand on Monday, running home in a slick 55.3. He returns to the mobile and looks the one to beat. BACK TO THE BEACH (12) has been racing well from soft draws but impressed with a hard working 3rd here last week and appeals as the obvious danger. OHOKA DARCY (1) attempted to lead throughout from this barrier three starts back when a close 3rd to Carter Micheal and shouldn’t be far away. TOUCH OF SUCCESS (10) is drawn to get a soft run and can be in the money. Tips: 5 12 1 10 Suggested Bet: CAVIAR STAR (5) to win. Race 8 KAPTAIN KENNY (1) has won his last two starts, including a victory here where he sat on the leader from this barrier and finished strongly to defeat Luis Alberto. He has options from the pole again and should be right in the finish. WHOSWHOINTHEZOO (10) is racing extremely consistently and will be hard to hold out if he sees daylight in the final circuit. YOU GOTTA HAVE FAITH (2) was a nice 4th here last week and would be hard to beat if he found the front. THE ARSONIST (9) is racing well but has a horror draw to overcome. Tips: 1 10 2 9 Suggested Bet: WHOSWHOINTHEZOO (10) each way. Race 9 CRIME SCENE (1) was a comfortable Narrogin winner before running a solid 3rd to Caviar Star. He returns to the mobile after four stands but has the barrier advantage over his main rivals and looks extremely hard to beat. HASANI (11) has three wins and four placings from his last seven starts and looks the main danger. LUIS ALBERTO (10) refuses to win but looks a great place chance from this draw. ANIME (3) is racing consistently and won’t be far away from this draw. Tips: 1 11 10 3 Suggested Bet: Quinella CRIME SCENE (1) & LUIS ALBERTO (10). Race 10 GOTTA GO GABBANA (9) has been running super races in a lot better company and appeals here. She is drawn wide but has been doing the same against superior opposition to what she meets tonight and looks very hard to beat. MARY CATHERINE (7) has been racing well without winning and looks the main danger. IM STYLISH (6) is the other class runner but doesn’t appear to be at her best. LADY LUCA (2) ran a nice 2nd to Saying Grace in a recent Byford trial and could be the value runner. Tips: 9 7 6 2 Suggested Bet: Quinella MARY CATHERINE (7) & GOTTA GO GABBANA (9). Market Market
