Scott Embry’s Friday Esperance Preview Posted on January 17, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 CITY RANSOM is 62 days between runs but both career efforts have shown talent and this is a winnable race, especially if she jumps cleanly and can roll forwards. KING FOR LIFE has been a bit luckless this preparation and both recent runs in defeat have been strong. JACKS FROST is on debut and a bit unknown but when Mitchell Pateman jumps on one at Esperance eyes open. HOT best of the rest. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – CITY RANSOM WIN Race 2 STRATUM PASS was brilliant last start when charging home over the concluding stages. Has shown pace in the past to take up a position in running and should be hard to beat. SLURPIN TURPIN is a perennial place getter who does deserve to break through and this is winnable. TUCEPI is in a very similar boat. Will win one at Esperance this season. ARMENIUS a new acquisition to the region can improve. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – STRATUM PASS WIN Race 3 KEEPER MEAN steps up in trip which looks ideal and if Emma Stent can get across from a tough gate then the 3 year old looks well placed to win another race. SMARTRAVELLA has found a fair bit of traffic so far this campaign and if they are winding up down the middle then she will be coming. PRINCE HAL was very well supported last start and can easily go one better here. PROZONE would be a mad hope if jumping and running. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 3 – 11 Suggested Bet – KEEPER MEAN WIN Race 4 TRUTH AND LIES was defeated in Esperance for the first time last start but with the Mayor of Kalgoorlie coming down she can bounce straight back. Likely to drop out early and come with one burst late. FOXY ROYALE is always a place chance but rarely salutes. ALUMINIZE was huge in the Regional Championships final and then poor last start on face value. NAZARETH is a bit hit and miss but seems to like the Bay of Isles Numbers: 7 – 8 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – TRUTH AND LIES WIN Race 5 MAKURU out to 1400 and drawn to come across and lead or even hand up to stable-mate in Rare Selection should get every chance. BARRY’S RABBIT looks a different horse down at Esperance. He is really travelling into his races and is suited by the long straight. Another win for the cult figure grey and he gets a crack at the Esperance Cup. BARTRADER is a query out in trip but his form is good enough to win. RARE SELECTION likely finds the front and runs them along after his fighting win last start. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – MAKURU WIN Race 6 BADGE OF COURAGE has hit a purple patch of form and the 68+ races have very similar fields every week. No reason why he can’t string a few together. WHERE’S WALLY has the blinkers on and is reunited with Pateman after a few minor placings. RHINO BUSTER doesn’t know how to run a bad race. With Staeck on he is a big winning chance. HEY BRO is rarely far from the action. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – BADGE OF COURAGE WIN Race 7 YINDI looks streets ahead of rivals. He will be a leg in many a Friday Multi players pocket. If he opens in the black expect him to close in the red. ICE ONE has put two together and if McNaught can land somewhere near the lead looks the one to run down. DAZZLING POET won well last start and has always shown ability. SHIRASCA has nice top end form and draws well for Yuill. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 9 – 12 Suggested Bet – YINDI WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 7 2,3,5,6,8 1,3,6 1 Market Market
