Trent Cooper’s Friday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on December 5, 2025December 5, 2025 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1: COLD HARD CASH (8) has a losing sequence of 11 and is drawn wide over the sprint trip but he will enjoy the likely solid speed and looks a good each way chance. JAXON MORGAN (6) was unwanted in the betting first-up but ran a nice 2nd to Medieval Man and should strip fitter tonight. JOLTED CHARM (4) has won five of her last eight starts but her latest start 4th from the breeze in good time was probably her best effort and she must be respected. ERA (7) won here at $81 last week and is racing too well to dismiss. Tips: 8 6 4 7 Suggested Bet: COLD HARD CASH (8) each way. Race 2: MAJOR JAY (2) has been unplaced in his last six starts but he has been battling bad barriers and will be a big improver if he can hold out those to his outside and find the front. CHACO EAGLE (4) will be fitter for having one run back from a spell and has the gate speed to make things interesting in the early stages. SWEET IVY (6) didn’t see daylight until too late when a fast-finishing 2nd here last week and looks a major player again. DOURADO (10) will need luck from his awkward draw but will be charging home if he gets out at the right time. Tips: 2 4 6 10 Suggested Bet: MAJOR JAY (2) to win. Race 3: MADAM PUBLISHER (8) has impressed with her two runs back from a spell against the state’s best mares. She will be relying on NUTBUSH GIRL (7) not getting an easy lead and will be charging home as long as that isn’t the case. NUTBUSH GIRL (7) has led throughout to win six on end and her closing sectionals will make it impossible for her rivals if she finds the front in a moderate lead time but I’m betting against that tonight. NASE VIRA (6) has been placed in two mares classics at her last two starts and is the other winning chance. XCITE ME (3) is likely to try to cross and then sit on her stablemate and can be in the money under that scenario. Tips: 8 7 6 3 Suggested Bet: MADAM PUBLISHER (8) to win. Race 4: SOHO VESPER LIND (1) was held up for a run when 3rd in a similar event two starts back before running a close-up 9th in the Mares Classic. She should have options at the start and looks a good each way chance. STAR CASINO (8) was a good 2nd in stronger company here last week and has the strength to overcome his wide draw. MY SILVER SPOON (6) was a strong 2nd at his first run back from a spell and will make his presence felt. MAGNUS VICTOR (12) is suited by the scratching of COLD HARD CASH (11) and should enjoy a nice run in the moving line. Tips: 1 8 6 12 Suggested Bet: SOHO VESPER LIND (1) each way. Race 5: MAGNIFICENT STORM (4) led and had his chance when outstayed by Minstrel here last week but this looks easier and he should bounce back into the winner’s circle. PENNY BLACK (11) was blocked for a run behinds MAGNIFICENT STORM (4) last week and would hase beaten him home if she got clear but has a back line draw to overcome tonight. LAVRA JOE (2) is likely to cross the polemarker and will be a great place chance if he then sits on the favourite. JUSTCALLMEMIKI (6) and NERSANO (8) have the ability but will need something out of the ordinary to happen to be winning chances from their barriers. Tips: 4 11 2 6 Suggested Bet: MAGNIFICENT STORM (4) to win. Race 6: HES NEVER BEEN BETA (1) is a strong customer who doesn’t possess a great deal of point-to-point speed. If he holds up at the start he will be very hard to beat but will be more of a place chance if he gets crossed. ARMA BELIEVER (4) has won three of his last four starts and he will become the one to beat if the polemarker doesn’t lead. MENEMSHA (8) performed well in open company at his last start and will be charging home if there is a solid tempo. THE IRON DUKE (7) is racing well and can be put into the race if the tempo allows. Tips: 1 4 8 7 Suggested Bet: HES NEVER BEEN BETA (1) to win. Race 7: FAT LOUIE (3) led when 3rd at his first run back from a spell and then improved to win here last week. He goes up in class tonight but will be fitter again and he should give a great sight. BLAZE AWAY (1) has been racing well in unsuitable assignments and he will be very hard to catch if he holds up at the start. NATHAN STREET (9) has plenty of ability but has been costly for punters since arriving in WA and I’m happy to risk him at his price in early markets. BLAZING REACTOR (7) is a quick beginner and led throughout in 1.53.7 from a similar barrier three starts back so must be respected. Tips: 3 1 9 7 Suggested Bet: FAT LOUIE (3) to win. Race 8: OH MIKI (12) is only lightly raced but he has plenty of ability. His inexperience may count against him from the backline but his class may be enough to get him through. WANDERING GIRL (8) has jumped out of the ground recently and her times indicate that she is ready for the rise in class. STAR LILLY (9) has been placed in nine of her past 13 starts and is racing well enough to overcome the wide draw. HES A COOL MACH (1) has been unplaced in his past 16 starts but is worth a speck at odds from the pole. Tips: 12 8 9 1 Suggested Bet: OH MIKI (12) to win. Race 9: SKYLOU (10) resumed with a narrow but impressive win over ROCK ME OVER (8) in slick time. He will strip fitter for that effort and meets that rival on the same terms at the handicaps so he is the one to beat. ROCK ME OVER (8) had his chance but could turn the tables if he can find the front over the tighter circuit. DAWSON (9) has been racing well in mobiles since joining Ray Jones and is a proven standing start performer. OUR VINNIE (1) was only 3.7 metres behind SKYLOU (10) and ROCK ME OVER (8) at Pinjarra and meets them 10 metres better off tonight. Tips: 10 8 9 1 Suggested Bet: ROCK ME OVER (8) each way. Race 10: PATRIARCH (8), IN RARE AIR (5) and AMALFI KNIGHT (7) made up the trifecta when they met here a fortnight ago. They finished in barrier draw order on that occasion and I’m going to tip that tonight with IN RARE AIR (5) on top because I think he can go forward and control the event. AMALFI KNIGHT (7) could be the one suited if there is a solid tempo. No knock on PATRIARCH (8) at all, he has been awesome in his two wins and may be too good again but I think he is too short in the market. CEASE TO REACT (1) can be placed but doesn’t have the class of the other three. Tips: 5 7 8 1 Suggested Bet: IN RARE AIR (5) to win. Early Quaddie: 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 112, 4, 6, 10, 126, 7, 8 1, 6, 8, 12 Late Quaddie: 4 1, 4, 7, 8 1, 3, 7, 9 1, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12 Market Market
