Matt Young’s Saturday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on December 5, 2025December 5, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 Could be keenly contested early this race with both ALFA JESS (3) and stablemate PIPERS PARADE (4) likely looking to get forward, the latter, who is on the quick backup could give a bit of cheek if she led this. CAPTAINS CREEK (6) was an all the winner last time out and this draw is a bit tricky but is racing well and likely heads forward as well. COMO EL VIENTO (9) was impressive in his recent win but outside draw over a mile is a challenging one. CAPTAIN SAID SO (7) is a bit flighty but has ability, CONTROL THE ROOM (8) is capable but can mix his form so the draw is tough. ALWAYS CHANGIN (5), MANHATTAN RUBY (10) and LOU LAMOUR (11) all have ability in an extremely competitive race. Tips: 6 4 9 11 Suggested Bet: PIPERS PARADE (4) each way. Race 2 AT THE POINTY END (3) has the draw advantage and got a taste for victory last time out, looks likely to lead this and will give them something to catch. ELWADDELL (8) is dropping from metro grade and can do work in his races, looks a strong chance to push forward to the breeze and try and outstay the potential leader. MADDY LOU (4) will head forward and should be in the first few, she is racing well. JASPERVELLABEACH (5) has brilliant early speed, and they may push the button here, but he is only second up, was racing in better fields last preparation. TRIROYALE BRIGADE (6) rarely runs a bad race, but this is an awkward draw. Tips: 8 3 4 5 Suggested Bet: ELWADDELL (8) each way. Race 3 THE WILDCARD (9) has me chips in that he can cross these from the outside draw and first up for Aiden De Campo, I expect him to run a big race here, go close as it is not the quickest front line. ZLATO (2) is a decent on speed runner and will be coming out the best he can, expect him to get around the pole marker and his winning chances could depend on whether he can hold out the runners to his outside. LIGHTFOOT LEIGH (3) is racing consistently and should settle handy. JOEY JAMES (12) will hope for plenty of speed on, this grade suits and will be getting home. HOTFOOT IT (4), IM ROCKIN ROD (6) and LUKE ATTACK (11) all novelty chances. Tips: 9 2 12 3 Suggested Bet: THE WILDCARD (9) to win. Race 4 ARUM (8) was a good win last time out and strikes a suitable grade again but from a tougher draw, can be driven a bit more confidently and looks hard to hold out. SNAKEY BAY (4) did too much in the early stages last run but wasn’t a bad effort, has the speed to potentially lead here and could be cheeky. EASTERN ADVANCE (12) is a horse I prefer closer to the speed but the grade suits and has been racing well overall for Hayden Hancock, expect him to return to some form in this. THE PROTOTYPE (1) didn’t have much luck last time out and comes in with place claims off the soft draw. IDONTWANABAPIRATE (5) has turned into a winner, but this looks awkward. BOLD JACKIE (6), LUCY VICTORIA (9), BLIND EDITION (10) and CHIEF COPY (11) can be included in novelty contention. Tips: 8 12 4 1 Suggested Bet: ARUM (8) to win. Race 5 HES THUNDER (9) looks perfectly placed, he can watch things unfold early and then make his move into the race and is the strongest in the field, should get the job done but don’t expect an amazing price. GALVINSTON JOHN (10) will be ducking and weaving on the way home but looks a strong exacta chance. GEARSINAWHIRL (1) is ideally drawn and has the speed to lead early, prefer him at shorter though. SHES MY LITTLE GEM (3) is a tricky one to follow, did too much last time out but from the draw can settle close enough and be included in the novelties with ZUEDE (4). Tips: 9 10 3 1 Suggested Bet: HES THUNDER (9) to win. Race 6 ALTA GABBANA (9) did things wrong in the early stages last time out and gets penalized with the wide gate but hit the line strongly and looks to be hard to beat with a safe beginning here, expecting a strong performance. PURELY PANDEMIC (1) is ideally drawn and had no luck last time out after a good drive early, could be given a chance in front and will run a race. THREE FLAMES (10) will enjoy the benefits of the soft run but has had more than ample opportunity to break through. OUR SERAPHINA (12) and PRINCESS AVIATOR (6) also fall into the category of having their chances, they won’t be far away again. WESMEDAD (2) had no luck last time out and still performed well, novelty chance and one at longer odds to consider for your quaddie. SPLASH OF CASH (11) must be respected as the stable do have a good strike rate. Tips: 9 1 10 2 Suggested Bet: ALTA GABBANA (9) to win. Market Market
