Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on July 24, 2025July 24, 2025 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 IM LORD LOGAN (1) has only been placed in one of his five starts this time in but he has battling bad barriers and looks a big improver here. He finished near the rear behind FAT LOUIE (9) at his last start but can turn the tables from the pole. FAT LOUIE (9) was a good winer and is the obvious danger but does have a wide draw to overcome. WHEN IN VEGAS (7) has been consistent without winning since resuming and looks a major player again. BETTERTHAN SECRET (10) has been placed in his last two starts and can be in the money again from his nice trailing draw. Tips: 1 9 7 10 Suggested Bet: IM LORD LOGAN (1) to win. Race 2 GOLDEN LODE (12) has had a freshen up since running a nice 2nd to Brickies Dream at this track. He will be suited by the likely solid tempo and will be charging home. BLAZE ON (8) has drawn poorly but finished 1st or 2nd in his five starts this time in and has the strength to be right in the finish again. SOHO HONEY RIDER (1) goes up in class but gets her chance to show what she can do after being held up at a crucial stage when fancied at her last start. SORRIDERE (7) hasn’t flattered this time in but he looked better when held up last start and can get into the money at big odds. Tips: 12 8 1 7 Suggested Bet: GOLDEN LODE (12) to win. Race 3 DARK EYES (1) has been placed in three of his past four starts and looks the likely leader and a great each way chance again. STARLIGHT DREAM (8) will settle at the rear and come with one big run and can finish over the top of them if there has been a solid tempo. COPY CAT QUEEN (12) has charged home to win three of her four starts this time in and is another who will be hitting the line strongly. THENU CAME ALONG (9) is a talented 4YO resuming from a spell and can figure in the finish if h is ready to go so monitor the betting. Tips: 1 8 12 9 Suggested Bet: DARK EYES (1) each way. Race 4 OUR SANDY SHORE (1) was a noticeable drifter in the market first-up when she led and tired late. She will strip fitter for that effort and this looks a suitable assignment. OUR SASSY LADY (2) encountered gear problems and settled a long way from the leaders when an impressive winner here last week and is ready for the rise in class. LADY CAMEL (10) is more of a rolling type but she should be in the finish if the polemarker performs well. CHILLI PUNTER (4) has been racing consistently in stands and was placed in 1.55.9 in a mobile event five starts back. Tips: 1 2 10 4 Suggested Bet: OUR SANDY SHORE (1) to win. Race 5 SKYLOU (1) has been battling awkward draws in mobiles or back marks in stands but gets his chance from the pole tonight. He is a reasonably good beginner and will be hard to catch if he can hold the front. LUSAKA (6) is racing without luck and the map doesn’t look great again but he can finish over the top of them if they go hard early. MIGHTY RONALDO (9) was well driven to win the Winter Cup first-up and has the turn of foot to overcome the wide draw. TALKS UP A STORM (10) will become a good place chance if SKYLOU (1) can hold up at the start. Tips: 1 6 9 10 Suggested Bet: SKYLOU (1) to win. Race 6 TWO BOB CRACKER (12) has been racing in stronger fields and looks suited in this class. He can’t make his own luck but will be running on at good each way odds if there is a solid tempo. CANDY APPLE (7) was a comfortable all-the-way winner here last week and has shown that he can still be in the finish if he has to face the breeze. MANHATTAN MOON (9) was an impressive 1.54.5 winner from a similar draw two starts back and must considered on that effort. MEGA MACH (5) led throughout here two starts back and will give them something to catch if he can work his wat to the front. Tips: 12 7 9 5 Suggested Bet: TWO BOB CRACKER (12) each way. Race 7 SWEET PINS (8) has resumed from a year away from the racetrack with two effortless victories and he should bring up the hat-trick tonight. TELKEM JAY (3) is racing consistently and looks a good place chance. OUR THUNDER (5) was a solid 2nd at his first run in WA and should be thereabouts. DANGER (4) ran a fair 5th from the breeze here last week and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 8 3 5 4 Suggested Bet: SWEET PINS (8) to win. Race 8 CHUGACH (6) was severely checked when making good ground at his first run back from a spell and should give a great sight here after drawing inside his main rivals. CEASE TO REACT (9) was far from disgraced when missing the place for the first time when 6th to Bettor Move Matty at his last start and has the strength to overcome his wide barrier. MAJESTIC LOMBO (7) has a sharp turn of foot and will be charging home if he can get the right cart into the race. TOBY GEORGE (8) impressed in winning his last three starts before a spell and was only plain first-up but he has trialled well since and can make his presence felt. Tips: 6 9 7 8 Suggested Bet: CHUGACH (6) to win. Race 9 CAPTAINSHAVTIME (7) has won seven of her 13 career starts and finished her last campaign racing against the older horses. She is first-up without a trial so monitor the betting but she should give a great sight. ARETHA (8) charged home to record an impressive first-up victory against a similar field and should fight out the finish again. RUBY LOU (6) led when 2nd in that event but is versatile and can figure coming from behind if that is required. BULL SHARK BETTY (3) has been placed in all three starts this time in and can win this event if the breaks go her way. Tips: 7 8 6 3 Suggested Bet: CAPTAINSHAVETIME (7) to win. Race 10 YANKEE LOVER (6) recorded back-to-back victories before running a strong 2nd at her last start and is clearly the one to beat in this line-up. ALDEBARAN BOYD (7) was a good winner at his first run in WA and was well backed when he broke and finished 5th at his last start and is the obvious danger. DREAMBIGAIMHIGH (2) and ELEGANT PEAK (4) fought out the finish of a weaker event on Monday and should be thereabouts tonight. Tips: 6 7 2 4 Suggested Bet: YANKEE LOVER (6) to win. Market Market
