Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on June 26, 2025June 26, 2025 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 POCKET THE CHANGE (1) has a losing sequence of 12 but her recent form has been solid and she should lead and prove hard to catch over the sprint trip. TANTABIDDI (10) was a 1.54.4 winner on Monday and is likely to trail the polemarker and is a good each way chance. CABERNEIGH (8) has the best form in the race but isn’t suited from out here over the shorter journey. ALTA ALLURE (5) beat POCKET THE CHANGE (1) home and was only five metres from the winner in a stronger event last week and must be respected. Tips: 1 10 8 5 Suggested Bet: TANTABIDDI (10) each way. Race 2 LONGREACH BAY (8) is a one-trick pony who in his last 14 starts has seven wins and one 2nd when he has led and has finished towards the rear in the six time he hasn’t found the front. I think he can cross here and prove hard to catch but you can tear up your ticket if he doesn’t. SKYLOU (7) looked sluggish here last week but he wasn’t suited over the sprint trip and can improve. PAUL EDWARD (6) has been unplaced in his last six starts but he has had a quick freshen up and can figure. FLYING RUMOUR (5) will be suited by the likelihood of a strong tempo. Tips: 8 7 6 5 Suggested Bet: LONGREACH BAY (8) to win. Race 3 MIKIS PRIDE (4) has resumed with two impressive victories including a comfortable all-the-way win here last week. He goes up in class tonight and is far from guaranteed to find the front but still appeals as the one to beat. ONESMARTFELLA (1) caught the eye when flashing home to finish 4th to MIKIS PRIDE (4) last week and will be suited from the pole. GOODTIME LOUIS (3) wasn’t suited in the breeze in that event but will be a sharp improver with a softer trip. PEACEFUL (8) is a very good mare who must be respected but she may not be driven to her strengths first up. Tips: 4 1 3 8 Suggested Bet: MIKIS PRIDE (4) to win. Race 4 IM THE BLACK FLASH (4) made up good ground from the rear in a sprint home when 3rd here last week and appeals as the one to beat from a better barrier tonight. ARMA XFACTOR (6) was a strong 2nd from the breeze here last week and should be in the finish if he can take up that position again. ROLLING FIRE (7) has looked back to his best at his last two starts and looms as a major player. FRANCO ECUADOR (3) had no luck here last week and could be a threat at good each way odds. Tips: 4 6 7 3 Suggested Bet: IM THE BLACK FLASH (4) to win. Race 5 What a race! BLAZE ON (8) resumed with a dominant victory and then lost no admirers when 2nd to Brickies Dream. He can be put into the race at the right time and looks a great each way prospect. DARK EYES (1) copped plenty of pressure when 2nd here last week and has options from the pole. NO NONEY (10) is drawn to enjoy a soft run on the pegs and can be dangerous late. HEAVENLY GYPSY (9) led from this draw last week when 2nd in a hot field and would be hard to beat if she crossed again but those to her inside will have greater awareness tonight. There are plenty of other winning chances Tips: 8 1 10 9 Suggested Bet: BLAZE ON (8) each way. Race 6 AMBITSAYA (2) has disappointed at her last two starts and hasn’t been seen for four weeks. She will be too good for this field if she is anywhere near her best so monitor the markets. SWAGGER MAN (5) broke through for a well-deserved win at his last start and should be in the finish again. JOEY JAMES (1) looks a great place chance from the pole. DEL BOCAVISTA BAY (3) ran a nice 3rd at Pinjarra on Monday and can figure at good odds. Tips: 2 5 1 3 Suggested Bet: AMBITSAYA (2) to win. Race 7 MIKI MADE MONTY (10) is first-up after a 10-month break, has changed stable and hasn’t been seen in trials so there are plenty of question marks but he showed plenty of ability as a 3YO and will be hard to beat if anywhere near his best. BLUE BLAZER (5) broke back into the winners’ circle last week and can win again but does prefer the sprint trip. LORD PUBLISHER (6) has been unplaced in his last nine starts but his latest effort had merit and this looks a suitable assignment. HARRYS A ROCKSTAR (1) is limited but should be thereabouts from the pole. Tips: 10 5 6 1 Suggested Bet: MIKI MADE MONTY (10) to win. Race 8 FRANCO MOTU (6) is undefeated in two starts and crosses the Tasman with big wraps. He beat Machnificent in a recent Byford trial and should be winning at his Australian debut. FAT LOUIE (8) was beaten as a $1.12 and $1.24 favourite at his last two starts before a spell but has ability and he resumes for a new stable tonight. DRIVE LINE (5) has finished 2nd at his three starts this time in and could fill that position again if he can cross at the start. CHIEF COPY (11) will now start from the pegs and that should be a good place to be. Tips: 6 8 5 11 Suggested Bet: FRANCO MOTU (6) to win. Race 9 GRAND COUTEAU (4) is a nice mare resuming from a spell and her recent Pinjarra trial win indicated that she will be very hard to beat against this line-up. MALAKIE (8) is flying and is the obvious danger but the draw makes it tough. SPORTING GRACE (2) now starts from the pole and looks a great place chance. CANDY APPLE (5) was a good all-the-way winner here last week but will find this tougher. Tips: 4 8 2 5 Suggested Bet: GRAND COUTEAU (4) to win. Race 10 YANKEE LOVER (1) was heavily backed to beat MAJESTIC GA GA (8) two starts back in a mobile but did things wrong before making amends at Pinjarra on Monday. He enjoys a 20m handicap advantage over his main rival and will be very hard to beat if he steps cleanly. MAJESTIC GA GA (8) has won six of her last seven starts and is the obvious danger. CHUMANI (5) and LINE THE STARZZZ (4) finished 3rd and 4th behind MAJESTIC GA GA (8) at their last starts and shouldn’t be far away again. Tips: 1 8 5 4 Suggested Bet: YANKEE LOVER (1) to win.
