Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on August 1, 2024August 1, 2024 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 WINEGUM (3) was placed in consecutive events at this track but hasn’t been since for eight weeks. He looks likely to find the front and will give a great sight in that role if he is close to his best. BENJI (8) ran on well from the back half of the field to finish 2nd here last week and should fight out the finish again. BELLEZZA NERA (5) is racing consistently and is always dangerous if he gets the right run in transit. ETON ROCK (6) has been placed in his last two starts in similar company and should be thereabouts again. Tips: 3 8 5 6 Suggested Bet: WINEGUM (3) to win. Race 2 PAUL EDWARD (10) disappointed when leading at his last start but his previous form was solid and he will charging home if he sees daylight at the right time from trailing draw. SUGAR APPLE (6) raced in stronger company last time in and his recent trials suggest that he should give this a shake first-up. LOUCID DREAMS (8) drops in class on his recent assignments and is capable of overcoming the wide barrier. LET IT LINGA (1) looked to have his chance when 2nd from this draw last week but may go better rolling along in front. Tips: 10 6 8 1 Suggested Bet: PAUL EDWARD (10) each way. Race 3 ARMA XFACTOR (5) is quick off the arm and his winning chances will be determined in the first 200 metres but he will be very hard to catch over the sprint trip if he can find the front. SOHO FIRESTONE (3) hasn’t had much luck recently and can be an improver at good each way odds here. MY ULTIMATE BAXTER (9) has won three of his last four but will need some luck tonight from out here. NAVY STREET (10) will need luck but will be hitting the line hard if he sees daylight at the right time. Tips: 5 3 9 10 Suggested Bet: ARMA XFACTOR (5) to win. Race 4 NEVER ENDING (9) is Eureka bound and has resumed with two impressive victories. He is clearly the one to beat again but won’t get it all his own way from the wide draw. TENZING BROMAC (7) was game when narrowly beaten by NEVER ENDING (9) at his first run back from a spell and looks the obvious danger. STEEL THE SHOW (5) was a game win in a stand here and has the best barrier of the main chances. MIGHTY CONQUEROR (6) will be fitter for his third run back from a spell and can make his presence felt. Tips: 9 7 5 6 Suggested Bet: NEVER ENDING (9) to win. Race 5 WHATARETHEODDS (1) looked the winner at the 400-metre mark here last week but peaked on the run when 3rd to Coney Island Lou. His previous form was first class and he should give a great sight from the pole. VEGAS STRIP (7) has used his blistering gate speed to win eight of his 11 career starts and is ready to take on the older horses but this will be his biggest test. HALE SAINT LOUIE (12) is racing well and will be suited if there is a strong early tempo. SORRIDERE (4) wasn’t suited in the breeze here last week but defeated WHATARETHEODDS (1) at his previous start and must be considered. Tips: 1 7 12 4 Suggested Bet: WHATARETHEODDS (1) to win. Race 6 SOLESSEO MATUCA (12) worked to the breeze when a strong 3rd to my Ultimate Baxter here last week and this looks a suitable assignment. RUBINS PLIGHT (2) ran 2nd in that event and he will give a great sight if he can find the front in the early stages. CLASSIC CHOICE (8) should be approaching his beat at his third run back from a spell and should be charging home. LETS GET ROCKIN (6) was a solid 3rd here last week and can be in the finish with the right run. Tips: 12 2 8 6 Suggested Bet: SOLESSEO MATUCA (12) to win. Race 7 MENEMSHA (1) resumed with an all-the-way victory in good time before facing the breeze when a game 2nd at Bunbury. He has a significant barrier advantage over his main rival and appeals as the one to beat. BET THE HOUSE (8) resumed with a great 2nd to Vega Strip before winning a recent Byford trial in slick time and is the obvious danger despite the wide draw. SOHO SKYFALL (2) has won his last two starts and will enjoy a lovely run behind the speed. ARTFUL MIKI (4) disappointed when leading at his last start but races well with a sit and can figure. Tips: 1 8 2 4 Suggested Bet: MENEMSHA (1) to win. Race 8 RODASI (3) has been racing quite well from bad barriers and appeals as the one to beat after drawing inside his main rivals here. JOHNNY LOMBO (7) has faced the breeze and won his last two starts in easier company and is ready for the rise in class. BARBADOS (10) finished 4th here last week from the same draw and should be thereabouts again. SEVEN NO TRUMPS (5) is racing well enough to figure if he doesn’t have to work too hard from his awkward draw. Tips: 3 7 10 5 Suggested Bet: RODASI (3) to win. Race 9 AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (2) has impressed in comfortably winning her three WA starts and should add to her great record here. SOHO SERAPHINE (1) is drawn to trail the favourite and looks a great place chance from that position. THREE RUMOURS (8) started from a wide draw when placed behind the favourite last week and will be trying to replicate that outcome. SISTER CHERIE (3) is likely to settle three back on the pegs and that will be a good place to be if AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (2) extends in the final lap. Tips: 2 1 8 3 Suggested Bet: AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (2) to win. Race 10 NICKYS SON (1) broke back into the winners’ circle when defeating a weaker field at his last start and the rise in class is offset by the pole draw. STAY FOCUSED (5) is at the top of his game with two wins a 2nd from his last three starts and should fight out the finish again. HOLD THAT GOLD (4) has won three of his last four starts and will be hard to beat if he steps cleanly. CHUMANI (3) has been disappointing lately but can improve tonight at big odds. Tips: 1 5 4 3 Suggested Bet: NICKYS SON (1) to win. Market Market
