Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on April 18, 2024April 18, 2024 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 LOUCID DREAMS (5) has been placed in two of his last three starts and looks the one to beat here with the drop in class. THE KRAKEN (1) has been unplaced in his last six starts but grows a leg on the pegs and will give a great sight if he can hold up at the start. GREGARMY (4) has been battling bad draws recently but he can race prominently tonight and should make his presence felt. FEELING ACES (10) has only been placed in one of his last ten starts but is drawn to get a soft run here and can figure. Tips: 5 1 4 10 Suggested Bet: LOUCID DREAMS (5) to win. Race 2 MAGNUS VICTOR (2) has won two of his three starts since resuming and will be extremely hard to beat if he crosses at the start. STATE OF HEAVEN (1) was crossed from this draw here last week when a solid 3rd to Ira Poole and should be in the finish again. BRICKIES DREAM (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and will be hard to hold out if he sees daylight at the right time. IDEAL TOMADO (3) led from this draw when 2nd in good time last week and should be thereabouts again. Tips: 2 1 10 3 Suggested Bet: MAGNUS VICTOR (2) to win. Race 3 COWBOYS N BANDITS (1) led throughout here two starts back before leading again when 3rd in 1.55.3 at his last start. He won’t need to run that time to defeat this field and he is clearly the one to beat. EL CHEMA (11) is a talented sit-sprinter who may not have this race run to suit but he will be charging home. RUPERT OF LINCOLN (10) is better known as a staying type but he looks a good place chance if he can hold the polemarker’s back at the start. ALTA RHETT (7) is racing consistently but has a tough draw to overcome. Tips: 1 11 10 7 Suggested Bet: COWBOYS N BANDITS (1) to win. Race 4 FASTER THAN DAD (1) has trialled nicely for return and appeals as the one to beat. He was crossed from this draw but this line isn’t as quick and he should give great sight. DOMINUS FACTUM (5) is the quickest beginner and will give cheek if he crosses at the start without doing too much work. IMA FIVESTAR GENERAL (10) isa racing well and will enjoy a soft run on the pegs. JETT STAR (7) wasn’t far away when 4th here last week and can play a part. Tips: 1 5 10 7 Suggested Bet: FASTER THAN DAD (1) to win. Race 5 STENO (4) didn’t handle the blistering lead time when 5th here last week but she had impressively won her previous six starts and can bounce back tonight. AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (1) crosses the Tasman with very good NZ form and looks a major player whether she leads or sits on STENO (4). TURN THE PAGE (6) goes up in class and is still learning but she has plenty of ability. MIGHTHAVTIME (11) doesn’t have the class of her main rivals but she enjoys racing behind a hot speed and she should be running on. Tips: 4 1 6 11 Suggested Bet: STENO (4) to win. Race 6 TENZING BROMAC (10) worked hard in the early stages when he beat all bar Minstrel at his last start and the extra distance gives him time to overcome the awkward draw. PINNY TIGER (8) is versatile and can probably cross here or come with one run and he is capable of winning under either scenario. DIEGO (5) led throughout here last week and will be hard to catch if he can find the front again. ARMA EINSTEIN (1) ran on well when 3rd to Diego at big odds here last week and will be a lot shorter in the market from the pole. Tips: 10 8 5 1 Suggested Bet: TENZING BROMAC (10) to win. Race 7 MINSTREL (9) is absolutely flying and has the strength to overcome thw wide draw. He will need a quick early burn and for the leaders to come up for air when he makes his normal move to the breeze and will give a great sight on an each-way basis if that does eventuate. SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS (1) is a proven Grand Circuit performer and he can either give a great sight out in front or be a really good place chance if he sits on the favourite. HOT AND TREACHEROUS (3) is a very good frontrunner who will be extremely hard to catch if he finds the top without having to do too much work. NEVER ENDING (10) is the new kid on the block who will be charging home if he sees daylight at the right time. Tips: 9 1 3 10 Suggested Bet: MINSTREL (9) each way. Race 8 MISTER SMARTEE (1) has resumed with two effortless victories and should make it hat-trick if he holds up at the start as expected. STAR CASINO (2) couldn’t get into the race here last week but he trails speed very well and looks a great place chance from this draw. MIKI JET (3) has won his last four on end but isn’t as well drawn here so will need some luck to upset the favourite. FRANCO ECUADOR (4) hasn’t been seen since he was narrowly defeated as $1.10 favourite but has plenty of ability and must be respected. Tips: 1 2 3 4 Suggested Bet: MISTER SMARTEE (1) to win. Race 9 VANDERBILT (5) has won his last five on end including a 1.54.7 Pinjarra victory at his last start. His two defeats have come in standing start events but he will give a great sight if he can step cleanly and maintain his handicap advantage over his two main rivals. IM THE BLACK FLASH (8) faced the breeze when 2nd to SKYLOU (6) before leading throughout at his last start and should fight out the finish. SKYLOU (6) has plenty of ability but hasn’t been at his best when racing away from the pegs in his short career thus far. CARANA (9) is next best. Tips: 5 8 6 9 Suggested Bet: VANDERBILT (5) to win. Race 10 YOU FLY WITH ME (1) resumes for a new stable and will be hard to beat if he is forward in condition and holds up at the start. POCKETFUL OF OPALS (3) drops in class on her recent assignments and should make her presence felt from her nice draw. SOHO CONFIDENTIAL (6) disappointed at his last start but must be considered on his previous form. NAME IN LIGHTS (2) ran on well to finish 2nd to Queeninthecorner at his last start and should be thereabouts. Tips: 1 3 6 2 Suggested Bet: YOU FLY WITH ME (1) to win. Race 11 WATER LOU (8) has won 13 of her 17 career starts and should be able to add to that record tonight despite the wide draw. PRINCESS KATIE (2) is getting used to chasing home WATER LOU (8) and looks a good place chance again. LENORA JANE (5) is a capable filly who will be running on and can be placed. MISS HEPBURN (7) has only missed a place once in her nine race starts but will find it harder from out here. Tips: 8 2 5 7 Suggested Bet: WATER LOU (8) to win. Market Market Market Market
