Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on October 26, 2023October 26, 2023 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 IMA FIVESTAR GENERAL (4) should be close to his peak at his fourth run back from a spell and appeals as the one to beat from his nice draw. ROCKABALL (11) hasn’t had races run to suit lately but he has a powerful finishing burst and he should figure in the finish. AMERICAN ARMA (5) finished just behind the placegetters before having a short break and looks suited in this class. AMERICAN BULLITT (1) may get shuffled back on the pegs but can unwind a big finish if he gets the breaks. Tips: 4 11 5 1 Suggested Bet: IM THE BLACK FLASH (8) to win. Race 2 MACHNIFICENT (2) was unplaced in his five starts last time in but has plenty of ability and should give a great sight from this draw. TRICKY MIKI (7) disappointed last time in but resumed with a dominant victory and has the class to overcome the wide draw. WITHOUTTHETUH (1) has only been placed in one of his past 12 starts but he has options from the pole and looks a big improver. OTIS (8) hit the line nicely at his first run back from a spell and looks set for a good campaign but is drawn poorly again. Tips: 2 7 1 8 Suggested Bet: MACHNIFICENT (2) to win. Race 3 PINNY TIGER (5) has been driven back in the field at his two starts this time in but this looks like a race he can cross at the start and he should give a great sight if that does eventuate. WHATS UP SUNSHINE (1) should either lead or sit behind the leader and he is capable of winning under either scenario. ALCOPONY (10) will enjoy a soft run on the pegs and will be charging home if he sees daylight at the right time. CHAL PATCH (6) is racing well and will be suited by the likelihood of a solid early tempo. Tips: 5 1 10 6 Suggested Bet: ALCOPONY (10) each way. Race 4 VAMPIRO (1) has a losing sequence of 14 but should lead and get his chance from the pole tonight PATRONUS STAR (3) has been unplaced at his last five starts but is drawn to get a soft run behind the favourite and will be dangerous if he gets out early enough. VALENTINES BROOK (8) was an impressive winner here last week but has a tough draw to overcome. THE MUSTANG (4) is likely to settle three back on the pegs and can be placed. Tips: 1 3 8 4 Suggested Bet: VAMPIRO (1) to win. Race 5 DIEGO (1) sat behind the leader and hit the line strongly t finish 2nd to Jumpingjackmac here last week and looks the one to beat but was crossed from this draw three starts back. STEEL THE SHOW (4) crossed the favourite before recording an all-the-way win in that event and will be hard to catch if he does find the front. LOYALIST (2) has solid Eastern States form and is nicely drawn for his preferred racing pattern. MAGNIFICENT STORM (9) is first-up from a wide draw but has plenty of ability and he could get out to silly odds tonight. Tips: 1 4 2 9 Suggested Bet: DIEGO (1) to win. Race 6 TURN THE PAGE (9) was a gallant 2nd in the WA Oaks when beaten in a photo by August Moon before defeating a weaker field and still appeals as the one to beat here despite the wide draw. MIGHTHAVETIME (2) caught the eye when 3rd here last week and should give a great sight from her nice draw. MISS SASSY (4) has won three of her last four starts and is ready for the rise in class. ROCKNROLL SASS (5) is racing consistently and can play a part. Tips: 9 2 4 5 Suggested Bet: TURN THE PAGE (9) to win. Race 7 IM THE BLACK FLASH (3) was an impressive winner in quick time here last week and looks extremely hard to beat tonight. PER ARDUA AD ASTRA (1) was forced to run a blistering lead time and fought on well to finish 4th at his last start and looks a great place chance from the pole. RAMBO RABBIT (7) is racing well and has the strength to go forward at the start and still be in the finish. OCTOBER REIGN (10) is drawn to enjoy a soft run on the pegs and can be placed. Tips: 3 1 7 10 Suggested Bet: IM THE BLACK FLASH (3) to win. Race 8 SKYLOU (7) lacked dash here two starts back when 8th to Mister Smartee but looked sharp when winning at Pinjarra on Monday and looks the one to beat despite the wide draw. MAGNUS VICTOR (2) has led throughout to win two of his past five starts and will give them something to catch if he can find the top in the early stages. SOHO FIRESTONE (5) was a strong 2nd from the breeze here last week and should make his presence felt again. ELWADDELL (1) is a last start winner and the rise in class is offset by the pole draw. Tips: 7 2 5 1 Suggested Bet: SKYLOU (7) to win. Race 9 INFINITE SIGN (3) has finished just behind the placegetters in his three runs this time in but he looks the one to beat with the drop in class and nice draw. HIGH PRICE (12) disappointed at his last start but looks the obvious danger based on his previous form. BROOKIES JET (1) has only been placed in one of his 16 starts this time in but can be in the money if he settles on the leaders’ back. PATH OF GOLD (2) has been racing consistently in weaker company and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 3 12 1 2 Suggested Bet: INFINITE SIGN (3) to win. Race 10 MARENGO BAY (4) has started a short-priced favourite in his four WA starts and has scored two impressive victories and made errors in the other two starts. He looks the one to beat here but can’t afford to make any mistakes. TRICKY RIC (7) was denied a fair start and declared a non-runner at his last start and looks the main danger. BEE BEE BEROC (1) has won three of his four starts since crossing the Tasman and must be considered from the pole. LUVAFLAIR (5) has finished just behind the placegetters at her last four starts and won’t be far away. Tips: 4 7 1 5 Suggested Bet: MARENGO BAY (4) to win. Race 11 XCEPTIONAL ARMA (5) faced the breeze and beat a similar field at her last start and is clearly the one to beat again. HEARTOFAHLIA (2) led when a 2m 2nd to the favourite in that event and should be thereabouts again. WORLD SECRET (1) finished 3rd in that event and should be in the money again. DOUSEEME (3) is the least experience filly in the event but has a nice turn of foot and should measure up. Tips: 5 2 1 3 Suggested Bet: XCEPTIONAL ARMA (5) to win. Market Market
