Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on October 4, 2018October 4, 2018 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 MADAME MEILLAND (4) was a dominant winner at her first run back from a spell and worked too hard when finishing down the track here last week. She is better drawn tonight in an easier field and looks the one to beat. MAXENTIUS (12) was heavily backed to beat Chicago Bull and was beaten less than 5m by that star back in March and will be hard to beat if anywhere near his top. SUNROSE VILLAGE (2) is racing well and the class rise is offset by his good draw. EL MACHINE (11) ran a solid 2nd here last week and can be in the money. Tips: 4 12 2 11 Suggested Bet: MADAME MEILLAND (4) to win. Race 2 OVERBOARD AGAIN (1) was an eye-catching 2nd here last week when he settled midfield. He is drawn to lead tonight and will be extremely hard to beat in that role. MISTER VERSACE (7) ran on well to finish 3rd in the same event and looks the main danger. KASEY JOHN (11) was disappointing last start but his previous form was good enough for him to be thereabouts. SOKYS BIGBULLET (6) is working back towards his best form but is likely to be posted in the breeze again tonight. Tips: 1 7 11 6 Suggested Bet: OVERBOARD AGAIN (1) to win. Race 3 KING OF SWING (3) won his first four starts in easier company and didn’t quite handle the rise in class when narrowly beaten by Motu Premier here last week. He will appreciate the drop in class tonight and should be winning. THEREUGO (5) has the gate speed to make things interesting early but hasn’t hit his best form this time in. BENHOPE RULZ (8) has won four of his five starts this campaign but the draw makes it tough. ROCK ME OVER (10) has won six of his last nine and can be placed from his nice trailing draw. Tips: 3 5 8 10 Suggested Bet: KING OF SWING (3) to win. Race 4 DESTINED TO RULE (1) was an impressive standing start winner three starts back and his subsequent efforts from the mobile have been full of merit. He returns to the tapes tonight and will be hard to beat if he can make the most of his handicap advantage. ALWAYS ARJAY (6) was runner-up on four consecutive occasions before taking on better fields and must be considered here. QTOWN RIP ROARING (3) is drawn well and should get a nice run in transit. JASON RULZ (8) disappointed again last start but does like the stand. Tips: 1 6 3 8 Suggested Bet: DESTINED TO RULE (1) to win. Race 5 SPEED MAN (8) has won six of his ten starts this campaign and can add to that tally tonight. He has led and been beaten as an odds on favourite at two of his last three runs but those efforts have still had merit and he looks the class horse here. ICEENOTHINK (4) has improved of late and has been battling on well in his races. COURAGE TELLS (6) is racing consistently in collectively better fields and should be in the finish. GLOW BRIGHT (1) gets the right draw for his racing style and can be placed. Tips: 8 4 6 1 Suggested Bet: SPEED MAN (8) to win. Race 6 CHICAGO BULL (6) is the state’s, and more than likely Australasia’s, best pacer and should continue on his winning way tonight. RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN (4) is proven in this class and is likely to be in the placings. TALKTOMEURMATTJESTY (1) steps up to this company for the first time but has produced sectionals to indicate that he will be competitive from the pole. ARGYLE RED (2) is drawn to find the pegs early and can be in the money. Tips: 6 7 9 5 Suggested Bet: CHICAGO BULL (6) to win. Race 7 AMELIAS COURAGE (8) was a solid 2nd to Alfa Queen before being beaten as a $1.10 favourite at Pinjarra. This field isn’t overly strong and she is the class runner but has to be taken on trust. INNOCENT AFFAIR (5) is always hard to run down when she finds the top but is better suited at the sprint trip. SOHO CHANGELING (11) is racing extremely consistently and should be thereabouts again. MISS STONEBRIDGE (1) has the recent form to be right in the finish but may not have the speed to make the most of this draw. Tips: 8 5 11 1 Suggested Bet: AMELIAS COURAGE (8) to win. Race 8 SUSPICIOUS LIFE (4) is first up after a 15 week break but indicated his fitness with a dominant Byford trial win. He has blistering gate speed and looks extremely hard to beat. ACE BROMAC (7) has been performing well in stronger fields and is capable of overcoming the wide barrier. TWENTYNINE TWELVE (10) is racing consistently and will be thereabouts if he has any luck from his awkward draw. ROCKNROLL BEACHBOY (2) ran a solid 5th behind Jack Mac on Tuesday and will find this easier. Tips: 4 7 10 2 Suggested Bet: SUSPICIOUS LIFE (4) to win. Race 9 IM STYLISH (7) was a good winner over Detroit Lily before working too hard from a backline draw behind Alfa Queen. She is suited by the drop in class and small field and appeals as the one to beat. SHES TURBO CHARGED (4) ran nice placings at her first two runs this campaign before being driven out of her comfort zone but can bounce back here. ATCHOO (2) now starts from the pole and looks the other winning chance. FOUR LEGGED FRENZY (6) will be running on if the early tempo is solid. Tips: 7 4 2 6 Suggested Bet: IM STYLISH (7) to win. Race 10 LOT TWENTY ONE (2) has started from the backline at his past three starts and finished 2nd on each occasion. He is drawn a lot better here and is the one to beat. CARTE BLANCHE (6) has mixed his form this time in but has plenty of ability when right. ARK (3) has solid SA form and should be respected at his first start in WA. ESTILO (1) doesn’t have great numerical form but has the hood added and can improve from the pole. Tips: 2 6 3 1 Suggested Bet: LOT TWENTY ONE (2) to win. Market Market
