Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on December 22, 2022March 10, 2023 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 MY WATCHLIST (3) crosses the Tasman with good NZ form and a recent 32 metre 1.56.9 trial win indicates that he will win many races in WA. SPEEDWAGON (1) has finished 2nd at his past three starts and looks a good chance to be placed again from his perfect draw. ETON ROCK (2) disappointed at his last start but he looks better driven with a sit and can be in the money. MISTER MONTBLANC (4) has impressed in winning his last two starts in good time but is drawn awkwardly tonight. Tips: 3 1 2 4 Suggested Bet: MY WATCHLIST (3) to win. Race 2 STRIKE TEAM (10) has an impressive strike rate and resumed with a solid win at this track. He will need some luck from his awkward draw but will be charging home if he sees daylight at the right time. STRAUNY (3) has won his last two starts extremely well and will be very hard to beat if he can work his way to the front here. WAIT FOR THE BELL (1) has won his last two starts and the rise in class is offset by his perfect draw over the sprint trip. COOPER (5) has been racing in stronger fields in stands but is drawn outside his main rivals. Tips: 10 3 1 5 Suggested Bet: STRIKE TEAM (10) each way. Race 3 ROCKSTAR REBEL (4) has led throughout to win two of his last four starts and will be hard to catch if he can use his gate speed to cross at the start here. ROCKABALL (3) finished just behind the placegetters in a stronger field here last week and should fight out the finish in this company. THE KRAKEN (2) led and was narrowly beaten here two starts back and will give a great sight if he can find the top. RASCAL (8) has been racing well against stronger opposition but is drawn poorly tonight. Tips: 4 3 2 8 Suggested Bet: ROCKSTAR REBEL (4) to win. Race 4 DIEGO (1) faced the breeze when a brave 7m 3rd to MAGNIFICENT STORM (11) at his last start and gets the draw to lead and turn the tables. MAGNIFICENT STORM (11) is the state’s best pacer and is the obvious main danger from his nice trailing draw. WILDWEST (10) loves to race on the pegs and looks the blowout chance from this barrier. PATRONUS STAR (3) didn’t see daylight at his last start and is always dangerous with the right run. Tips: 1 11 10 3 Suggested Bet: WILDWEST (10) each way. Race 5 RAGAZZO MACH (5) was an impressive winner over Prince Of Pleasure here last week and appeals as the one to beat here in a very open affair. MACHNIFICENT (9) couldn’t quite handle the hectic tempo when 4th in the Golden Nugget last week but will be charging home here at good each way odds. KNOW WHEN TO RUN (2) hasn’t had much luck this time in but will be a big improver if he can find the front in the early stages. SOCRATES (12) raced well when last in work and can feature in the finish despite being first-up. Tips: 5 9 2 12 Suggested Bet: MACHNIFICENT (9) each way. Race 6 FIFTY FIVE REBORN (1) has led and found one or two of these slightly better recently but she might get away with a bit more up front tonight and will give a sight at each way odds. BETTOR GET IT ON (2) has impressed in defeating similar fields at her last two starts and should fight out the finish. EIGHTEEN CARAT (5) has lost a bit of gloss when a beaten favourite at her last two starts and is drawn outside her main rivals here but must be respected. THE AMBER HARE (3) ran a great 5th in the Golden Nugget here last week and drops back to mares’ company tonight. Tips: 1 2 5 3 Suggested Bet: FIFTY FIVE REBORN (1) each way. Race 7 GLENLEDI CHIEF (1) sat behind the leader and looked the winner a long way from home here last week and appeals as the one to beat from the pole draw here. ARMA EINSTEIN (4) wasn’t suited when 5th in that event but will be charging home if there is a more solid tempo tonight. BEAT CITY (5) goes up in class but was very impressive in his win here last week and must be considered. TYPHOON BANNER (2) will be prominent throughout and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 1 4 5 2 Suggested Bet: GLENLEDI CHIEF (1) to win. Race 8 ONESMARTFELLA (1) is first-up without a trial but showed plenty of ability in his first WA campaign without winning. His form lines around The Miki Taker and Tenzing Bromac indicate he will be very hard to beat if he is anywhere near his best. MIRRAGON (10) is drawn to trail the favourite and loves the sprint trip. TALKS UP A STORM (7) is the class runner of the field and can use his gate speed to overcome his wide draw. VULCAN STAR (5) needs a hot early tempo but will be running on if that does eventuate. Tips: 1 10 7 5 Suggested Bet: MIRRAGON (10) each way. Race 9 FLY TO FAME (9) has been ultra-impressive in winning her last two starts against similar fields and has the strength and versatility to overcome the wide draw. BRULEE (2) drew wide when a promising 5th at her debut and looks a likely improver tonight. CABSAV (8) has been placed in six of her last seven starts and will be charging home again. FEELING EMPATHY (1) doesn’t have the class of the favoured runners but can be placed from the pole. Tips: 9 2 8 1 Suggested Bet: FLY TO FAME (9) to win. Race 10 TRICKY RIC (8) has won all five starts this time in and is clearly the one to beat despite the wide draw. NICKYS SON (2) has impressed in winning his last two starts and the rise in class tonight is offset by his nice barrier. MIDNIGHT ASSASSIN (5) led and was a well-beaten 5th at his first run for over a year but derived benefit from that effort and was a good all-the-way winner last start. He should strip fitter again and looks a major player. STAY FOCUSSED (3) has been placed in ten of his last 13 starts and should be thereabouts again. Tips: 8 2 5 3 Suggested Bet: TRICKY RIC (8) to win. Market Market
