Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on August 2, 2018August 2, 2018 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: BOOK INTO THE $50 BEAU RIVAGE BUFFET SPECIAL MS PACE MAJOR POCKET (2) has been placed at eight of his nine starts this time in and was far from disgraced when 5th to Tyler Brett here last week. He is perfectly drawn and should prove hard to beat. THE FREEDOM FIGHTER (8) brought up his 6th consecutive victory when leading throughout here last week. He will find this harder from out here but has shown his versatility in those wins. EXTREME PRINCE (4) was a solid 4th to THE FREEDOM FIGHTER (8) last week and is better drawn tonight. ARGYLE RED (9) resumes here but has a touch of class. Tips: 2 8 4 9 Suggested Bet: MAJOR POCKET (2) to win. Race 2: $7 PINTS AT JP’S SPORTSBAR MS PACE MAJOR CATASTROPHE (8) has been unplaced at his past four starts but that has been behind the likes of Chicago Bull and Bettors Fire. He will appreciate the significant drop in class tonight and has the strength to overcome the wide draw. COURAGE TELLS (1) was a solid 4th after facing the breeze last week and looks the leader here. DODOLICIOUS (11) is racing well without winning but might enjoy a softer trip tonight. SOHO LEVIATHAN (9) was impressive in winning in 1.54.9 here last week but isn’t as well drawn tonight. Tips: 8 1 11 9 Suggested Bet: MAJOR CATASTROPHE (8) each way. Race 3: BOOK YOUR NEXT CONFERENCE AT GLOUCESTER PARK MS PACE ROBERT THE BRUCE (1) led throughout for a comfortable victory at this track seven starts ago. His form has been mixed since then but he gets his chance from the pole tonight. EL MACHINE (11) is a fast sit-sprinter who should settle close enough to the lead to be dangerous. SHARDONS ROCKET (7) could press forward and find the breeze tonight and can play a part from there. SOHO WONDER (6) is racing well from bad draws and could be one to watch at odds. Tips: 1 11 7 6 Suggested Bet: ROBERT THE BRUCE (1) to win. Race 4: BRIDGE BAR AT GP OPEN THIS SUNDAY MS PACE MOTU PREMIER (8) hasn’t won at his past 15 starts but drops in class here and gets his chance. He was held up when beaten less than 8m by Chicago Bull last start and should be ready to show his best. VAMPIRO (12) has been placed at three of his four starts this time including a close 2nd last start and can play a part. IDEAL TYSON (9) is drawn poorly but his last start 3rd to El Jacko was full of merit. WHENMECHIEF (1) grows a leg in front and should lead this for a long way. Tips: 8 12 9 1 Suggested Bet: MOTU PREMIER (8) to win. Race 5: THE KERRY CLARKE WESTBRED 4YO & 5YO FINAL LORD WILLOUGHBY (4) disappointed when finishing 4th in his heat behind SALEAHS COMMAND (6) but had been placed at 22 of his previous 23 starts. He had a month between runs so he should strip fitter tonight. ANVIL ROLLOVER (1) led and was beaten along the sprint lane in his heat and should give some cheek here. THEREUGO (12) is better known as a frontrunner but has a nice turn of foot if the race is run to suit. SALEAHS COMMAND (6) led throughout in his heat but may struggle to find the top here. Tips: 4 1 12 6 Suggested Bet: LORD WILLOUGHBY (4) to win. Race 6: FOLLOW GLOUCESTER PARK ON FACEBOOK MS PACE CHICAGO BULL (5) has won his three starts back from a spell effortlessly. He has been gifted the lead in those three runs but should still prove too classy if that doesn’t eventuate tonight. OUR JIMMY JOHNSTONE (1) has the speed to lead and will make it interesting if he does hold the front as he is rarely beaten in that role. THE BUCKET LIST (8) was a good winner of the BOTRA Cup last start and will be flooding home if there is a solid tempo. COSTA DEL MAGNIFICO (2) will enjoy a soft trip and can be placed at odds. Tips: 5 1 8 2 Suggested Bet: CHICAGO BULL (5) to win. Race 7: WWW.GLOUCESTERPARK.COM.AU MS PACE LIGHTNING JOLT (1) ran consecutive 2nds behind some nice types before finishing down the track from wide draws. He will appreciate the pole tonight and should give a great sight. FREE TO AIR (2) has finished solidly to record back-to-back wins and looks a major player again from this draw. REGAL AMBITION (4) was an impressive all-the-way winner here last week but might find it harder to find the front tonight. DESTINED TO RULE (7) ran 2nd to Mitch Maguire in blistering time on Monday so must be considered despite the draw. Tips: 1 2 4 7 Suggested Bet: LIGHTNING JOLT (1) to win. Race 8: BOOK A PRIVATE BOX AT GLOUCESTER PARK FILLIES AND MARES MS PACE CATASTROPHIC EVENT (3) has won two of her last three starts in slightly easier company but did face the breeze on both occasions. She is drawn inside her main rivals tonight and should give a great sight. IM STYLISH (8) ran on strongly to win at her last start and is the class runner of the field. LADY LUCA (5) has been unplaced at her past five starts but there has been merit in most of those efforts and she shouldn’t be overlooked. TALKERUP (9) disappointed first-up but should be fitter for that run. Tips: 3 8 5 9 Suggested Bet: CATASTROPHIC EVENT (3) to win. Race 9: GLOUCESTER PARK – ENTERTAINMENT WITH HORSEPOWER 3YO FILLIES MS PACE OUR ANGEL OF HARLEM (6) has hit peak form, with two wins and a gallant 2nd from her last three starts and is the one to beat despite her wide draw. AMELIAS COURAGE (5) ran 2nd to OUR ANGEL OF HARLEM (5) before reversing the result at this track and is the obvious danger. LIBERTY ROSE (7) faced the breeze and was only beaten 4.5m in the same event so must be in the mix but has drawn poorly. INNOCENT AFFAIR (1) was a 1.55.5 winner last start and can match the rise in class from the pole. Tips: 6 5 7 1 Suggested Bet: OUR ANGEL OF HARLEM (6) to win. Race 10: TABTOUCH – THE BRAND THAT FUNDS THE INDUSTRY 3YO WESTBRED MS PACE BEE SEVENTEEN (1) has only won one of his 21 career starts but was a solid 4th in a better field on Monday and gets his chance to press for an all-the-way victory tonight. VILLAGE BENNY (10) has been a touch disappointing this time in but draws to get a lovely run here and can improve. GORDON (6) ran on well to be placed at his last start and looks to have his fair share of ability. NO WOW FACTOR (8) has been placed at his last three against fields of similar strength so must be considered. Tips: 1 10 6 8 Suggested Bet: BEE SEVENTEEN (1) to win. Market Market
