Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on July 22, 2021July 22, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 MR FANTASTIC (3) disappointed when beaten into 2nd as a short-priced favourite at his last start but clearly has plenty of ability and is drawn nicely tonight. ORLANDO BLUE (2) was a strong 3rd to THE GOOD LIFE (4) at his last start and is the best drawn of the main chances. THE GOOD LIFE (4) was a good all-the-way winner here last start and has shown he is versatile in the past. MACHNIFICENT (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and can be dangerous late if there is a solid early tempo. Tips: 3 2 4 10 Suggested Bet: MR FANTASTIC (3) to win. Race 2 CAVEMAN (1) led throughout here two starts back and looks the one to beat after coming up with the pole draw tonight. CARRERA MACH (3) has finished just behind the placegetters at his first two runs back from a spell and should be ready to show his best now. REBEL WITH A GRIN (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and looks a good place chance. MAJOR STARE (7) has been placed in six of his last eight starts and should be thereabouts again despite the wide draw. Tips: 1 3 10 7 Suggested Bet: CAVEMAN (1) to win. Race 3 MEDIEVAL MAN (3) raced well last time in, recording five wins from 12 starts. He resumes here without a trial but should give a sight at each way odds if he is close to peak fitness. QUEEN SHENADOAH (4) got out too late when 2nd to Fifty Five Reborn here last week and should be in the finish again. BRACKEN SKY (6) ran on well to finish 2nd to Son Of A Tiger in a stronger field last start and is always dangerous with the right run. QTOWN RIP ROARING (1) is a last-start winner and the rise in class tonight is offset by the pole draw. Tips: 3 4 6 1 Suggested Bet: MEDIEVAL MAN (3) each way. Race 4 MAGNIFICENT STORM (7) has won 12 of his 14 career starts and resumes here tonight after a comfortable Byford trial win in moderate time. He is drawn wide and will strip fitter for tonight’s effort but is still clearly the one to beat. SIMBA BROMAC (1) disappointed last time in but trialled nicely for his return and looks the main danger from the pole. SON OF A TIGER (4) was ultra-impressive in recording a 1.55.8 victory here last week but goes up in class. MIRACLE MOOSE (5) resumes here without a trial and is likely to be driven softly but should be hitting the line hard. Tips: 7 1 4 5 Suggested Bet: MAGNIFICENT STORM (7) to win. Race 5 PATRONUS STAR (1) led throughout to win here in 1.53.5 over the sprint trip after finding the pressure of Shockwave too much when finishing 5th to that star pacer. He should lead here and will prove hard to catch. MIGHTY CONQUEROR (6) flashed home to finish 2nd in that race before leading and being nosed out by Shockwave and is the obvious danger. ALTA BLUES (2) has won four of his past five starts and is ready for the step up in class. MAJOR TIMES (7) is drawn poorly but will be charging home if there is a solid early tempo. Tips: 1 6 2 7 Suggested Bet: PATRONUS STAR (1) to win. Race 6 TYPHOON BANNER (4) resumed from a spell with an all-the-way win and is the one to beat again. SEE YA WRITE (1) led throughout when a solid winner at Narrogin and has options after drawing inside than his main rival. ALTA ENGEN (12) was slightly disappointing when run down by Plutonium at his last start but should be running on late from his back row draw. BEE JAYS BOY (10) lacks the class of his main rivals but is drawn to get a soft run and can run into the money. Tips: 4 1 12 10 Suggested Bet: TYPHOON BANNER (4) to win. Race 7 ROBBIE EASTON (11) is having first start for Michael Young and has not trialled but looks well placed in this company. FREE TO AIR (1) has been unplaced in all nine starts this season but can be a big improver from this draw. THE BLACK CARDINAL (5) was a sound third at his last start and can take up a prominent position in an even field. THE WATCH MAKER (12) was not far away when 6th in a stronger field last week and is capable of overcoming his back line draw. Tips: 11 1 5 12 Suggested Bet: MINSTREL (10) to win. Race 8 BETTOR GET IT ON (5) was crossed at the start and then held up for a clear run when third to RADIANT AMBER (4) at her last start and is better suited from this draw. ALICE KAY (10) has options at the start as the only runner on the back line and will be running on. RADIANT AMBER (4) led throughout two starts back and will give them something to catch if she finds the top again. SMOOTH RYE (3) is racing consistently and should race on the pace and is capable of being in the finish. Tips: 5 10 4 3 Suggested Bet: VAMPIRO (2) to win. Race 9 DONTBESILLYCHILLI (2) is best drawn of the main chances and can bring up her second career victory. SEE THE WORLD (3) is up in class from her last start victory but that is offset by the nice barrier draw. MAKE YOUR MARK (6) is drawn outside DONTBESILLYCHILLI tonight but did beat that filly the last time they met. LINEBACKER (7) dead heated at her last start and is drawn wide but has the early speed to be prominent. Tips: 2 3 6 7 Suggested Bet: DONTBESILLYCHILLI (2) to win. Market Market
