Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on April 29, 2021April 29, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 SPACE JUNK (2) has only been placed once in his seven starts this time in but the lack of quality in this field makes him the one to beat. He wasn’t far away when 7th and last behind Hampton Banner last week and will appreciate the better draw tonight. TWENTYNINE TWELVE (1) has been unplaced at his past 13 starts but gets his chance from the pole. ROCKNROLL WHITBY (8) ran a solid 4th from the breeze at his last start and must be considered. QTOWN RIP ROARING (5) is always a chance with the right run. Tips: 2 1 8 5 Suggested Bet: SPACE JUNK (2) to win. Race 2 LORD ROSCO (5) has been beaten in photos at his last two starts and looks a good chance to shoot for an all-the-way victory tonight. SHANWAY (1) hasn’t had much luck in three WA stars but should get his chance from the pole. MAJOR STARE (3) has been placed in three of his last four starts and shouldn’t be far away again. J B MAUNEY (7) has a great turn of foot and will be charging home if there is a solid early tempo. Tips: 5 1 3 7 Suggested Bet: LORD ROSCO (5) to win. Race 3 MY CARBON COPY (3) broke through for a soft all-the-way victory here last week. He is unlikely to find the top tonight but will give a great sight if he doesn’t have to breeze. ROCK ME OVER (1) has been placed in nine of his last ten starts and should lead and prove hard to catch from the pole. JIMMY MACK (2) was only beaten 3.4m in 1.54.4 at his last start before a break and must be considered first-up. MANNING (6) has won two of his last three starts and is up to this class but the draw makes it tough. Tips: 3 1 2 6 Suggested Bet: THEREUGO (3) to win. Race 4 PERFECT MAJOR (2) was beaten as a $1.10 favourite before going for a spell but resumed with an impressive win over Kiwi Bloke. He goes up in class but is well drawn and looks the one to beat. VULTAN TIN (9) has faced the breeze and been placed at his past four starts and that scenario looks likely again. BRACKEN SKY (1) is drawn to get a lovely run on the pegs and should be thereabouts. STROKE OF LUCK (3) led throughout to defeat VULTAN TIN (9) at his last and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 2 9 1 3 Suggested Bet: PERFECT MAJOR (2) to win. Race 5 LAVRA JOE (10) has won seven of his eight starts and has stamped himself as the state’s best 3YO but will need to put up a herculean effort to overcome the backline draw. JUMPINGJACKMAC (4) has won six of his eight career starts and will start as the favourite after gaining the advantage with the barrier draw. MIGHTY RONALDO (2) hasn’t had much luck of late but did lead throughout to defeat LAVRA JOE (10) five starts back and looks the other major player. SEERYANFLY (11) is racing extremely well and could be the blowout chance if they go hard. Tips: 10 4 2 1 Suggested Bet: LAVRA JOE (10) to win. Race 6 ALICE KAY (2) hasn’t had much luck in her three WA starts but her runs have been full of merit. She looks the one to beat but this is her first start from the stand and has to be taken on trust. SOMEBEACHPARTY (7) knocked up in the late stages when 7th here last week but should be fitter for this assignment and should make her presence felt. SAVVY BROMAC (12) sprinted brilliantly to win her last start and is the only one of the main chances to have one from the stand. STAR OF DIAMONDS (9) has recorded three wins and four placings from her seven starts this time in and should be thereabouts again. Tips: 2 7 12 9 Suggested Bet: ALICE KAY (2) to win. Race 7 PARMESAN (1) resumes here without a trial but should lead and be very hard to catch if he is anywhere near his best. BLISSFULABBEY (2) enjoyed a nice run behind the leader when 2nd in 1.55.3 here last week and should enjoy a similar trip tonight. VESPA (4) battled on well when 4th in slick time here last week and should be thereabouts again. EUPHORIC MOMENT (7) has finished just behind the placegetters at his four runs back from a spell and should be ready to show his best. Tips: 1 2 4 7 Suggested Bet: PARMESAN (1) to win. Race 8 ADDA STORMY LADY (2) ran a nice 2nd on debut and is drawn the best of the main chances in a wide-open affair. SOVRANA (6) led when a close 2nd at her racetrack debut before finishing midfield in the Sales Classic and looks a major player tonight. VALHALLA MISS (5) took advantage of her pole to lead throughout in the Sales Classic but isn’t as well drawn here. DIAMOND DANCE (8) looks to have her fair share of ability and is capable of overcoming the wide draw. Tips: 2 6 5 8 Suggested Bet: SOVRANA (6) each way. Race 9 SAGANO (1) was a sound 5th at her Australian debut before disappointing at her last start. She has the hood added and is worth another chance from the pole. PLUTONIUM (5) drops in class on his recent assignments and should be an improver. OUR SURROGATE (4) chased hard when 2nd to Back In Twenty in slick time and shouldn’t be far away. ROCKINTHEBOX (2) is racing well in easier company and the rise in class is offset by his nice draw. Tips: 1 5 4 2 Suggested Bet: SAGANO (1) to win. Market Market
