Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on July 9, 2020 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 TWENTYNINE TWELVE (1) has battled bad barriers in his first three runs back from a spell but is drawn perfectly against moderate opposition and gets his chance tonight. PRADAS IDEAL DAHLING (5) has been disappointing of late but must be considered in this line-up. GOOD TIMES AHEAD (2) faced the breeze when a solid 6th here last week and drops in class. COURAGE TELLS (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and can be dangerous late. Tips: 1 5 2 10 Suggested Bet: TWENTYNINE TWELVE (1) to win. Race 2 MISTER BUSHIDO (2) has been racing in considerably stronger company, including a nice 5th behind Vultan Tin and Chicago Bull here last week. He looks the likely leader and should prove very hard to catch. GEE JAY KAY (3) was a solid last start 6th and should be considered from his nice draw. OUR RHYTHM N BLUES (11) is always thereabouts and should enjoy a nice trip from his trailing draw. BLACK JACK ZAC (1) is drawn to get a perfect sit and can be dangerous late. Tips: 2 3 11 1 Suggested Bet: MISTER BUSHIDO (2) to win. Race 3 CYCLONE BANNER (1) recorded back-to-back victories before sitting outside INFATUATION (5) when 3rd to that pacer last week. He enjoys the barrier advantage tonight and can turn the tables. INFATUATION (5) has won four of his five starts this time but won’t get it as easy as he did last week. WHILE THEY PRAY (6) was a strong winner in quick time last start but is drawn the widest of the main chances. AMERICAN DELIGHT (3) has been placed in 17 of her 21 career starts and shouldn’t be far away first-up. Tips: 1 5 6 3 Suggested Bet: CYCLONE BANNER (1) to win. Race 4 STROKE OF LUCK (11) impressed at his WA debut when overcoming a backline draw to record a strong 1.55.7 victory at this track. He faces a similar task tonight and is the one to beat. SON OF A TIGER (2) followed a flashing lights trial with a nice effort off 40m in a stand and can press for an all-the-way victory from his nice draw. DESTINED TO RULE (1) is racing consistently and is perfectly drawn for his sit-sprint style. CUT ABOVE (3) has been an impressive winner of her last two starts and is up to the rise in class. Tips: 11 2 1 3 Suggested Bet: STROKE OF LUCK (11) to win. Race 5 CHICAGO BULL (8) was a gallant 2nd here last week when he had to race against the track bias and can exact revenge tonight. HANDSANDWHEELS (6) is first-up tonight but is the other class runner of the field and looks the main danger. VULTAN TIN (7) upset CHICAGO BULL (8) here last week but isn’t as well drawn here. MOTU PREMIER (5) will be fitter for his first-up 3rd and can be in the money. Tips: 8 6 7 5 Suggested Bet: CHICAGO BULL (8) to win. Race 6 BLACK JACK BABY (2) has won seven of her eight career starts and has gone to a new level recently. She sprinted home in 26.6 to win her last start and is the one to beat with the query being her ability to handle a solidly run 2100m event. JETT STAR (10) is undefeated in five starts and is the obvious danger but has an awkward draw to overcome. GIVE US A WAVE (6) led throughout to win the Westbred Classic in slick time and can figure with the right run. OVERJOYED (1) is drawn to get the run of the race and can be placed. Tips: 2 10 6 1 Suggested Bet: BLACK JACK BABY (2) to win. Race 7 LORD ROSCO (6) has used his blistering gate speed to win six of his past seven starts. He is drawn wide here but looks a good chance to cross and will be hard to beat in that role. WALSH (1) is racing extremely consistently and has options from the pole. BOOM TIME (10) has plenty of ability and will be dangerous from this draw if he sees daylight at the right time. MAJOR SHARD (2) has finished 2nd at his last three starts and can be in the money again from his nice draw. Tips: 6 1 10 2 Suggested Bet: LORD ROSCO (6) to win. Race 8 MANDY JOAN (1) has recorded one win and four placing from her five starts this time in. She has been a beaten odds-on favourite at her last two starts but can bounce back from the pole tonight. MY PRAYER (2) suffered a flat tyre but still beat MANDY JOAN (1) home last week and looks the obvious danger. RADIANT AMBER (6) did too much work in the early stages last week but can play a part on her previous form. COUNTESS GRACE (3) was held up until too late at her last start and shouldn’t be far from the action here. Tips: 1 2 6 3 Suggested Bet: MANDY JOAN (1) to win. Race 9 MR SUNDON (8) has won seven of his 11 starts since crossing the Nullabor and staked his claim as the state’s best trotter last time in. He has warmed up for this with a solid trial against the pacers and is clearly the one to beat. DARK SECRET (3) has won two of his last four starts and will give them something to catch if he can find the top. TOKYO JOE (6), disappointed at his last run but must be considered on his first-up win. TENNO SHO (7) has been placed in eight of his past nine starts and shouldn’t be far away again. Tips: 8 3 6 7 Suggested Bet: MR SUNDON (8) to win. Race 10 ALTA BLUES (2) is still green but has made a big impression in his first two race starts. He overcame breaking to record a strong first-up win and then worked extremely hard when 2nd to Alta Engen in good time. He is drawn inside his main rivals and looks the one to beat. VALENTINES BROOK (3) was a solid 2nd at his last start and may have enough speed to cross at the start. MANNING (5) looked back to his best last start and can go on with it now. THE STARS ABOVE (1) looks a good place chance from the pole. Tips: 2 3 5 1 Suggested Bet: ALTA BLUES (2) to win. Market Market
