Trent Cooper’s Friday night Gloucester Park Preview Posted on April 21, 2022April 21, 2022 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 BORN TO BOOGIE (3) was first-up here last week when she over-raced in front but was only beaten 1.3m in the fast class event. She drops back to take on her own sex tonight and looks the one to beat. SAVVY BROMAC (9) ran on from the rear to finish a close-up 5th in that event and is the obvious danger. BLISSFULLABBEY (1) is drawn to get a lovely run from the pole and should be thereabouts. ALTA CINDERELLA (8) led throughout here last week and won’t find this as easy but will be running on. Tips: 3, 9, 1, 8 Suggested Bet: BORN TO BOOGIE (3) to win. Race 2 IMA ROCKABILLY REBEL (4) disappointed slightly here two starts back but bounced back with an impressive 1.56.5 victory here last week and is the one to beat again. PALATINO (3) was caught in the breeze when 4th in that event and will be much closer with a more economical trip tonight. ROBBIE ROCKET (8) has a sharp turn of foot and will be charging home if there is a solid early tempo. ILLAWONG MUSTANG (1) caused an upset win from a wide draw here last week Tips: 4, 3, 8, 1 Suggested Bet: IMA ROCKABILLY REBEL (4) to win. Race 3 POWER AND GRACE (1) led throughout from this draw two starts back and should lead and prove hard to catch again here. BEAT CITY (5) is first-up tonight but ran a nice 2nd to Ragazzo Mach in a recent Byford trial and looks the obvious danger. VIVERE DAMORE (3) is racing well without winning and should be thereabouts again. SPACE JUNK (10) has been placed in two of his last four starts and looks to get the run of the race trailing the favourite. Tips: 1, 5, 3, 10 Suggested Bet: POWER AND GRACE (1) to win. Race 4 VESPA (2) led throughout two starts back before running on well to finish 2nd here last week. He is a versatile type with options from his nice draw and he should give a great sight. TYPHOON BANNER (3) started from a wide draw and was a nice 5th to DOC HOLLIDAY (12) at his first run back from a spell and should make his presence felt. DOC HOLLIDAY (12) is in top form but will be giving his main rivals a start. EUPHORIA (4) couldn’t get into the race at his first run back from a break but is drawn to be prominent tonight. Tips: 2, 3, 12, 4 Suggested Bet: VESPA (2) each way. Race 5 TEXAS TIGER (6) broke after the start at his first run back from a break but has trialled nicely since that effort and looks a major player. VULTAN TIN (9) started from this draw when a strong 2nd in quick time here last week and is suited by the staying distance. FANCI A DANCE (1) looks the likely leader and should give them something to catch. TO FAST TO SERIOUS (8) has a nice turn of foot and will be charging home if there is a solid early tempo. Tips: 6, 9, 1, 8 Suggested Bet: TEXAS TIGER (6) to win. Race 6 UNCONDITIONAL (4) put up a career best performance here last week when she led and was challenged throughout before finishing a close 2nd in 1.54.6. She isn’t certain to find the top here but should still give a great sight. RUN FOR MERCY (1) has battled bad draws of late and looks a big improver from the pole. SPY MAJOR (10) has been placed in five of his past six starts and should enjoy a nice run on the pegs. REGAL CHEVAL (2) has good gate speed and can improve sharply if he finds the front. Tips: 4 1 10 2 Suggested Bet: UNCONDITIONAL (4) to win. Race 7 DONT BOTHER ME NONE (7) is the class runner of the field and is clearly the one to beat but he has been unplaced in his two attempts from the stand. AMERICAN BULLITT (1) is a reliable stand performer who will settle just off the speed and can be dangerous late. GEE SMITH (2) is the likely leader and will give them something to catch. YANKEE LINCOLN (3) looked good in winning a recent Byford trial and is one to follow at his first run in the state. Tips: 7, 1, 2, 3 Suggested Bet: DONT BOTHER ME NONE (7) to win. Race 8 SWINGBAND (5) recorded impressive back-to-back victories before doing things wrong at the start and was retired from the race at his last start. ROCK ON TOP (7) took advantage of the favourite’s early error when winning at his last start and looks the obvious danger. STEREOPHONIC (1) and ARMA XFACTOR (2) have both shown ability and can give some cheek from their good draws. Tips: 5, 7, 1, 2 Suggested Bet: SWINGBAND (5) to win. Race 9 WONDERFUL TO FLY (2) has impressed in winning four of her last five starts and she should find the front and be extremely hard to beat in this field. SOVRANA (3) did defeat the favourite five starts back and looks the obvious danger. IMA SOCIALITE (1) has won three of her last four starts in easier company and looks a great place chance from the pole. PRECOCIOUS LADY (5) ran 2nd to WONDERFUL TO FLY (2) at her last start but isn’t as well drawn here. Tips: 2, 3, 1, 5 Suggested Bet: WONDERFUL TO FLY (2) to win. Race 10 VALEDICTORIAN (5) has two wins from his four starts and has the strength to challenge the leader in the run. ROCKET CITY (6) has won three of his four race starts including a 1.55.5 win over VALEDICTORIAN (5) at his last start but has the widest draw to overcome. MAJOR OVERS (2) should get a comfortable lead in the early stages and should be in front for a long time. ALL IS WELL (1) doesn’t have the class of his main rivals but can be placed from the pole. Tips: 5, 6, 2, 1 Suggested Bet: VALEDICTORIAN (5) to win. Race 11 FLAMETREE (2) crossed to the lead in an exact replica of this match race in the heat and then held off DREAM CONTROL (1) to win by 1.1 metres. The same scenario should yield the same result but the polemarker might try to hold the front tonight which would make things interesting. Tips: 2, 1 Suggested Bet: FLAMETREE (2) to win EARLY QUADDIE: (1, 2, 3 & 4) R1: 3, 9 R2: 3, 4, 8 R3: 1, 5 R4: 2, 3, 4, 12 LATE QUADDIE: (5, 6, 7 & 8) R5: 1, 6, 8, 9 R6: 1, 4 R7: 1, 2, 7 R8: 5 Market Market
