The Scout: Thursday NBA Best Bets Posted on March 17, 2021March 17, 2021 | Posted by The Scout Sacramento Kings @ Washington Wizards The Kings (15-24) have lost 13 of their last 16 games and come up against a Wizards (14-24) team who have lost their last three. Playoff basketball looks extremely unlikely for both of these teams, so we look to a player who plays their hardest every single night. Enter Russell Westbrook. Westbrook hasn’t shied from his identity this season, filling the stat sheet with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists per game. He had a triple-double two games ago against the Bucks as well as 17 assists in his most recent game (also against the Bucks). Russ leaves everything on the court and this looks a good opportunity for him to bring up triple-double number 12 for the season. Suggested Bet: Russell Westbrook Triple-Double @ $3.10* Charlotte Hornets @ Denver Nuggets The Hornets (20-18) are the hype team in the NBA, winning four straight and playing some of the most watchable basketball in the league. The Nuggets (23-16) will be an acid test, in their own rich vein of form, they’ve won six of their last seven, and are now within striking distance of the top four seeds in the West. LaMelo Ball has transformed Charlotte, allowing them to run a high-tempo offense coupled with his impressive court vision and unique passing ability. His partnership with Gordon Hayward (21 ppg) and Terry Rozier (20ppg) should only improve from here. Rozier is closing games like he’s Dame Lillard at the moment and I think the chemistry we’re seeing from Charlotte is real. I’m buying the hype. Suggested Bet: Charlotte (Head to Head) @ $3.10* Miami Heat @ Memphis Grizzlies Two teams on opposite ends of the form-spectrum; Miami (21-18) having won four straight (and 11 of their last 12) against Memphis (17-19) who have lost their last three. Jimmy Butler has been the catalyst for Miami’s revival, averaging 26 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists across his last 10 games. Miami are at their best with Butler pulling the strings and Duncan Robinson, Tyler Herro and Kendrick Nunn (literally) waiting in the wings, ready to take advantage of any looks they’re given from deep. The Heat have had two 11+ wins in their last three games while the Grizz are coming off a 23 point loss at the hands of Phoenix. Suggested Bet: Miami 11+ (Margin) @ $4.20* *Odds correct as at 1pm, 17th March 2021. Market Market
