Group B – Australia v Zambia

Australia have work to do following the resounding 3-0 loss to Germany. The Matildas struggled to defend set pieces and the team’s fitness has been questioned. It was a surprise to see Michelle Heyman benched in favour of no recognised striker for that game so she should start against Zambie, while Tameka Yallop may return to the squad following injury.

There was no way back for Zambia last time out as they were 3-0 down to the United States at half time. Pauline Zulu was sent off on 34 minutes, while Grace Chanda and Prisca Chilufya were both substituted before the interval. Barbra Banda and Racheal Kundananji will be looking to bounce back having been kept quiet in that contest.
