Group F – Turkey v Georgia

Turkey are without a number of players, most notably striker Enes Unal, and will be led by midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu. The captain is one of the best set piece takers in Europe. Arda Guler of Real Madrid is an exciting prospect at just 19 years of age, while Kaan Ayhan and Merih Demiral are key defenders in front of veteran goalkeeper Mert Gunok.

It’s Georgia’s debut at a major tournament but they aren’t in Germany to make up the numbers. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is the outstanding talent in the squad; the Napoli wide man has scored 15 goals in his 30 appearances for the national side. Goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, 36-year-old captain Guram Kashia, and midfielder Giorgi Chakvetadze are other key players.

Group F – Portugal v Czech Republic

Portugal are being tipped to go deep into the tournament, and that’s less to do with Cristiano Ronaldo than in previous years. Bernardo Silva, Rafael Leao, Bruno Fernandes, and Joao Felix are capable of cause problems for any defence. Pepe may be 41 years old, but he continues to play at centre back, and should be partnered by Manchester City’s Ruben Diaz.

Patrik Schick rose to prominence with his goals at the last European Championships and he will again be the focal point of the attack. West Ham United pair Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal remain pivotal, however midfielder Michal Sadilek misses the tournament having suffered a leg injury while bike riding in the team’s training camp.
