The Scout: Euro 2024 Matchday 3 Posted on June 16, 2024June 16, 2024 | Posted by The Scout Group D – Poland v Netherlands The big news for Poland is the absence of talisman Robert Lewandowski. The striker suffered a thigh injury in the final warm up game so coach Michal Probierz must figure out how to replace 150 caps and 82 goals worth of experience. With no Arkadiusz Milik to call upon, Karol Swiderski or Krzysztof Piatek could lead the line, while Piotr Zielinski is crucial in midfield. The Netherlands come into the tournament in good shape, anchored by skipper Virgil van Dijk at the back. Nathan Ake and Mickey van de Ven are also great options in defence, although Frenkie de Jong’s absence will be felt. Memphis Depay, Cody Gakpo, and Brian Brobbey should all feature in attack for Ronald Koeman’s side. Netherland WIN @ $1.48* Group C – Slovenia v Denmark Bayer Leverkusen striker Benjamin Sesko is a man to keep an eye on for Slovenia having scored 14 goals in a breakout season in the Bundesliga. At the other end, captain Jan Oblak has been one of Europe’s best goalkeepers over the past decade. Winger Benjamin Verbic is an injury doubt for the game. There are plenty of familiar names in the Danish team – Kasper Schmeichel, Christian Eriksen, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and Andreas Christensen are all tournament veterans. It’s Rasmus Hojlund though who could provide the x-factor with his pace. The Danes will fancy their chances of picking up three points having won five and drawn one of the six meetings between the two nations. Denmark win @ $1.66* Group C – Serbia v England Serbia coach Dragan Stojkovic faces a potential selection headache with a full squad to choose from. Dusan Tadic, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, and Aleksandar Mitrovic should all play key roles, while Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic is a match winner on his day. A third of Serbia’s goals in qualifying came from headers so England can expect to face plenty of aerial threat. England will be looking to go one better than four years ago when they were runners up, and boast have plenty of exciting options in attack. Harry Kane, Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, and Jude Bellingham are coming off strong club seasons. However, there are question marks over their backline with Luke Shaw unlikely to play until later in the tournament and Harry Maguire absent altogether. England WIN @ $1.41* Multi Poland v Netherlands – Under 2.5 goals Denmark – Win Serbia v England – Both teams to score – Yes @ $4.36* *Odds correct as at 10am, 16th June 2024 Market Market
