Switzerland v Italy

Switzerland will make at least one change to their line up with Silvan Widmer suspended, Leonidas Stergiou is the likely replacement. Breel Embolo has worked his way back from injury and started the last group game. He should continue up front, supported by Dan Ndoye and Ruben Vargas. Xherdan Shaqiri is a handy option in reserve.

Luciano Spalletti has some decisions to make following Italy’s last gasp equaliser against Croatia. Gianluca Scamacca and Mateo Retegui have failed to impress when given a chance up front, while Federico Chiesa and Mattia Zaccagni are in contention for places. Defender Riccardo Calafiori is suspended for yellow card accumulation.

Germany v Denmark

After blowing Scotland off the park in the tournament opener, Germany’s performances have regressed. Changes will come at the back as Jonathan Tah is suspended and Antonio Rudiger is struggling with a hamstring issue. Nico Schlotterbeck will come into the team at least. There have been calls for Niclas Fullkrug to start given his efforts off the bench so far.

Denmark will be without Morten Hjulmand, their goalscorer in the 1-1 draw with England, due to a one-match ban. Thomas Delaney, Christian Norgaard, and Mathias Jensen are all viable options. Rasmus Hojlund will lead the line again, but he has only managed two shots in three appearances so far. The defence will be unchanged.
