The Scout: EPL Week 35 Posted on May 6, 2021May 6, 2021 | Posted by The Scout Manchester City vs Chelsea An exciting fixture that takes on a whole new meaning with Manchester City (1st) and Chelsea (4th) squaring off in what will be a preview of the Champions League Final. These sides have recent history too, with Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea eliminating City from the FA Cup last month. Pep Guardiola will be determined to secure the win here and take a psychological advantage into the May 29 Champions League Final. A win will also officially secure the Premier League title, something this squad would love to do on home soil. City have been incredible this season, winning 20 of their last 22 Premier League fixtures, and more often than not, it’s not even close. They’ve scored more goals (71) than any other team this season and I’m expecting them to have the firepower to trouble even this Chelsea defense that has been so good for so long. Suggested Bet: Manchester City (Match Result) @ $1.91* Liverpool vs Southampton Liverpool (7th) will enter this match off the back of a two week layoff, something that looked much needed following back-to-back draws with Leeds and Newcastle. The Reds are still a chance of climbing into the top four, particularly if Chelsea lose in the fixture prior. Jurgen Klopp’s side should be full throttle into this final block of games, and will hope (at a minimum) to build some momentum heading into next season. Defensively they have struggled all year, but their attacking trio of Mane, Firmino and Salah are finally back playing together. Southampton (15th) are in horrible form, winning just once in their last six matches. Defense has been the big worry in this period, conceding 15 goals, including three at the hands of the soon-to-be relegated West Brom. Suggested Bet: Liverpool Over 2.5 Goals (Team Total) @ $2* West Ham vs Everton West Ham (5th) ended their two game losing streak with a gutsy 2-1 win over Burnley, while Everton (8th) went down at home 2-1 to Aston Villa, and now have just one win from their last five Premier League fixtures. Everton were on fire at the start of the season but will be disappointed with where they find themselves now. It’s not a stretch however to suggest the dip in form was in-large due to the poor play of star striker, Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Calvert-Lewin at his best is a masterful finisher and has 15 goals to his name for the season. He scored in the 19th minute against Villa and showed signs that he was back to his best. The Hammers have conceded 12 goals in their last six games, and if that trend is to continue, DCL is the man most likely. Suggested Bet: Dominic Calvert-Lewin Anytime Goalscorer @ $2.30* *Odds correct as at 6pm, 6th May 2021. Market Market
