Scott Embry’s Saturday Carnarvon Preview Posted on May 7, 2021May 7, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 THE CHROISTER resumed last Thursday at Geraldton when travelling up strongly in behind them before being pushed back inside heels to what turned into the inferior ground on the day. Nice pipe opener for this race and worth noting he won his first three at Carnarvon last season. Rather him drawn out than in, looks a bet. DANEHILL MATILDA beat him home in the same race, gets half a kilo on him and is one from one at Carnarvon. Logical danger. SCOTOPIA is first-up and Sean Rains horses seem to fly fresh. EVOLUTIONIST is hard to catch but drops stacks of weight. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – THE CHORISTER WIN RACE 2 ROUND THE POINT brings real intrigue to his Carnarvon debut. Fits the profile of a lovely dirt racing acquisition: on speed, race fit & tough. Finished within a length of Senso (subsequent c70+ winner), Morgs Freeman (subsequent m58+ place getter) and Rebel Yell (subsequent c70+ Kalgoorlie winner). Last start ran into metro types at Ascot and now finds himself in Carnarvon. He looks the one. RIVAROLA is definitely a big danger. First time Sean Rains unveils him on the dirt but his Geraldton form was super when last in work. CULZEAN is a 1000m winner at Alice Springs. Keep safe. PREMIO MOMENTO enjoyed a breakout season when last in work. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – ROUND THE POINT WIN RACE 3 NOBEL STAR has shown glimpses, but more importantly speed. Lead them up in Narrogin 1190s, Bunbury 1100s and a Geraldton 1100. Was slow away with the shades on for the first time last start and here if Snaggers Sardelic can kick her out from the inside and lead she looks like taking running down. CAN’TCATCHTHIS finds a new home with Tom Pike and the recent Lark Hill trials weren’t bad at all. CARELESSLY only had one start and it was better than it reads. MISS BRIGHTON is more than capable of coming out running and doing it at both ends. Numbers: 8 – 9 – 10 – 4 Suggested Bet – NOBEL STAR WIN RACE 4 BUSH ICON should provide emerging apprentice Jett Stanley with his first dirt winner. Dominant display in a C2 three starts ago, nabbed in the shadows after being caught up in a sit and sprint two starts ago and at her most recent was deep throughout in a C5. Using her gate speed to stay out of trouble will be key. Should prove too classy. CASUAL TRADE looked to have something to give last week but found a bit of traffic at crucial stages. RED EPIC can come across from the wide gate. Had been knocking on the door until last start. WELD impressed at his most recent. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – BUSH ICON WIN RACE 5 I HOPE YOU DANCE looks poised to strike here after two highly encouraging runs to end the Geraldton season. Always risky getting involved in a ‘non-winner’ but the form from the last two should be sufficiently strong to win this. Ran second to Foxhood two starts ago (form race for plunge winner Haystacks) and last start chased very hard behind Makfi Amour. Drops back into a C1 and is drawn ideally. ENTERPRISE won a lowly maiden last start but has come back in super order for Tania Guy. THE DIVINE WIND has had plenty of racing but went well last start and Ray Malpass dominated last season. MORDOR an interesting runner for the new yard. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – I HOPE YOU DANCE WIN RACE 6 VIOTTI found his feet quickly at Carnarvon last season. Won back to back 56+ races (beating Behrooz) on both occasions and looks capable of continuing his way through into 64+ in the coming months and meetings. In the last 365 days Sean Rains has produced 10 horses first-up for 4 winners. 40% Strike Rate, 231% POT. This could well be another. BEHROOZ is a track distance specialist and gets massive weight swings on many rivals with Jett Stanley’s claim. If he leads he’s hard to run down. MYTHICAL TRUST is simply a different horse on the dirt. HIGHWAY GLORY will be burning. Interesting to see if he crosses Behrooz early. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – VIOTTI WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 4,5,8,9,10 2,3,4,8 2,4 1,2,3,9 Market Market
