The Scout: EPL Week 2 Posted on September 18, 2020September 18, 2020 | Posted by The Scout Chelsea vs Liverpool Chelsea opened their Premier League campaign with a strong 3-1 win at Brighton while Liverpool begun their title defense with a skin-of-their-teeth 4-3 win over Leeds. This looks a great opportunity for Chelsea to fully showcase their new talent and stamp themselves as contenders this season. Marquee signing Timo Werner threatened on debut but failed to score. I don’t expect we will be waiting much longer for him to get on the board. There has been discussion about a potential hangover for Liverpool and the signs were there against Leeds. They were sloppy defensively with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk both making uncharacteristic and critical mistakes. Liverpool looked seriously vulnerable last week against a team playing their first game back in the top flight. I think Chelsea are a serious team this season and meet the champions at the perfect time. Suggested Bet Chelsea (Match Result) @ $3* Newcastle vs Brighton Newcastle had the perfect start to the season with a comfortable 2-0 win at West Ham. The same can’t be said for Brighton however, who were gallant in a 3-1 loss to Chelsea. Newcastle were big players in the transfer window and there’s plenty of buzz around them for the season ahead. Undoubtedly their biggest signing was former Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson, a proven goal scorer at this level. Newcastle have a big chance here to set their season up with back to back wins. Their side looks better on paper, and young French winger Allan Sain-Maximin looks ready to stamp himself on the league. Suggested Bet: Newcastle (Match Result) @ $2.60* Wolverhampton vs Manchester City Wolverhampton opened their Premier League campaign with a decisive 2-0 victory over Sheffield United, picking up right where they left off last season. Meanwhile, this will be our first look at title favourites Manchester City who were given an extra week to rest after their Champions League commitments in August. It’s not an easy first up assignment for City, but this match should give us an idea of where each of these teams sit in the early stages of the season. Wolves have been a bogey side for Manchester City, winning both fixtures last season. Wolves style of play was impossible for City to combat last season and striker Raul Jimenez was at the forefront. In their two matches he scored once and assisted two others. I think he’ll cause his share of problems again here. Suggested Bet: Raul Jimenez Anytime Goalscorer @ 3.30* *Odds correct as at 12pm, 18th September 2020. Market Market
