The Ascot Feature Rankings Posted on December 2, 2020December 2, 2020 | Posted by Digby Beacham Kingston Town Classic – Dec 4 1 – INSPIRATIONAL GIRL Boasts a record befitting only the very smart ones. Last-start Railway Stakes winner who looks like she’ll relish the 1800m. Do I want to be on her at her current quote? Nope. 2 – DOM TO SHOOT Is still only a class 3 galloper, but his two most recent runs have been first class. Importantly came up with a gate which allows him to sit handy. Can absolutely win this race. 3 – WATCH ME DANCE Gun filly who has the barrier and the weight to give this feature an almighty shake. She continues to be a slow burn in the eyes of some, myself included. Not sure why. 4 – TOO CLOSE THE SUN You know where this fellow is going to be in the run. Has to give Inspirational Girl 2kg, Dom To Shoot 7kg and Watch Me Dance 9kg. But he is trained by Lindsey Smith and anything but a bold showing would be a shock. 5 – KAY CEE The Railway Stakes run is a concern when assessing her chances. She is the defending champ though and a dual WFA winner. Would love to see her win again Perth Cup – Jan 2 1 – TRULY GREAT Lost no admirers with his effort in the Railway Stakes when ridden closer than usual from an outside gate. His turn of foot will carry him a long way. 2 – NEUFBOSC A Perth Cup contender dropping back to 1400m of a Listed Carbine Club Stakes and winning like he did needs an asterisk alongside his name. Overlook him at your peril. 3 – MISSILE LAUNCH Was never a hope in the Railway and cannot contend in this weekend’s Group 1 feature. But once he gets out to suitable trips at handicap conditions, look out. 4 – TAXAGANO Much like Missile Launch, isn’t suited by the conditions of Saturday’s Group 1 event. But he is going well and needs to be respected once he slides back into the staying features. 5 – ARCTIC STREAM Ditto this bloke with the two runners above. But his effort last weekend behind Royal Command was full of merit. Needs racing to tighten him up. Did run 7th in the race 12 months ago. Market Market
