Cannington

Race 1 No. 1 SENATOR MONELLI

Excitement machine who set the track alight last week when smashing the 600 metre track record at his first try here over this distance. Has had 22 starts for 12 wins and 9 placings and looms as the next star of the local staying scene. Has drawn perfectly here in the red where he has had 5 tries for 4 wins and a placing. Is going places and should make light work of this.

Race 3 No. 4 GOLD RESERVE

Regally bred youngster who has been super impressive at his last two starts when on speed and winning by big margins in the slick times of 30.00 and 29.95.  His early splits have been nippy and despite drawing awkwardly here has the early pace to offset it. Has won 4 of his 5 career starts and I get the impression he has many more victories left up his sleeve. Up in grade here but looks to be a smart one in the making and is the one they will all have to beat.

Race 4 No. 3 Dubliner

Race 5 No. 7 ASTROPHYSIC

First class sprinter who has had 70 starts for 51 wins and a further 13 placings and earned more than $163,000 in the process. Had his first try over the 520 metres here at Cannington last week and could barely have been more impressive running a slashing first split of 5.40 before going on to win by more than 3 lengths in a best of night time of 29.93. Has speed to burn and with a clean run will be awfully hard to run down.
