Scott Embry’s Wednesday Pinjarra Preview Posted on December 31, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 TYCOON STORM looks set to continue on her merry way. She has to lump 60kg but that’s only 3kg more than the maidens and 3.5kg off the minimum. She looks well and truly above average and while she’ll be short should be far too classy. PAMBELLA bounced back from her one poor performance and draws soft. WESTERN CHANT was ridden positively last start and won well albeit in slow time. PHANTOM’S STAR was a shade disappointing first-up. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – TYCOON STORM WIN Race 2 RETURN TO OZ returns to the races first-up, no trial and W.Pike jumps aboard instead of riding for Bob Peters. Certainly brings some intrigue to the race. Trialed well for his 3yo debut and was solid when running fourth. NORTHWOOD has only been to the one public trial at Lark Hill and was very impressive late. MODERN TIMES had nothing go right in the Time to Sizzle race. Has been back to trials and was very good when leading throughout. PROTECTED ACTION comes from a strong form race. Numbers: 3 – 10 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – RETURN TO OZ WIN Race 3 GOKU was caught off the track first-up punching three deep the trip from a fair way out. Still loomed the winner and went down fighting. With Mitch Pateman living the rich life in New Zealand Boy Hill becomes the beneficiary of a plumb pick-up ride. Looks very hard to beat in a moderate field. BIZZI TOO back in trip and drawn soft looks the danger. RUNBABE comes from stronger form races this than. QUINN trialed moderately. Owned and trained by Simon Miller. Market watch will be interesting. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 11 – 12 Suggested Bet – GOKU WIN Race 4 QUEEN OF SOUL looks a stand out winner in this 1500m maiden. Is stepping up sharply in trip but the form from that race has been very strong. Amelia Bedelia, Snippy Miss, Weaponson and Endovanera all have ability and she was unsuited in the run. Should be far too smart here. SMOKING BARREL finished off well in a C1 late and should get a nice run from the draw. BURN ONE DOWN was ridden for speed last start and went well. BRIARIC could give cheek if finding the top. Numbers: 11 – 2 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – QUEEN OF SOUL WIN Race 5 OUR IDYLL is going particularly well at the minute. Drawn wide but does have tactical speed to take up a prominent position. Bolted in her maiden four starts ago, three starts ago ran into Group 1 4th place getter Superstorm, luckless to Mr Kunafa two starts ago and nosed out by subsequent winner Alimentaria last time out. PRAYING WITH GOD has been going well and running strong late sections. Given a big push by Neville Parnham on Saturday in a post-race interview. DOLUSKY picks up a C1 soon. Showed ability before a long absence. MARXIAN was able to control the speed in a weak maiden at his most recent and looks a stayer. Numbers: 2 – 9 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – OUR IDYLL WIN Race 6 SWEET DREAMIN finally broke through for a second victory and has been low flying since rejoining the stables of Holly Locke. Has always shown promise and could be finally starting to put it all together. GATES OF BABYLON won a C3 last preparation by over 4L in very fast time. If Kirby can find the front he’ll go well. ALTANI was ridden off speed last time out and seemed to relish the change. Bolted in impressively. MISS ELLMYA would be a lovely sentimental win. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 9 – 6 Suggested Bet – SWEET DREAMIN’ WIN Race 7 CITY CIRCLE returned to the races first-up, no trial when running into This’ll Testya and beating home Coming Around. Didn’t get much luck at all when a beaten favourite last time out. Chris Parnham back aboard and she has 3yo second placing efforts to Miller trio Dance Music, Flower of War and Flirtini. ANGRY ANNIE bolted in last start and from a times perspective the race was off the charts. No surprise to see her the target of big money. MEGADON drops back in grade and back in trip. Is racing very well at the minute. NOBLE REFLECTION was backed as if unbeatable first-up and was only fair to the eye. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – CITY CIRCLE WIN Race 8 FIRESALE arguably should have gone very close first-up. Was looming up to the leaders and then seemingly stumbled and blundered for no reason. Beaux Edwards did a great job to stay aboard and second-up at his home track he looks hard to beat with an ounce of luck from a sticky gate. MELROS BEACH is absolutely flying in the care of Brian Rogers. Two runs for the stable have been excellent. GREAT CHARADE finished off well fresh but draws poorly. EXCLUSIVE ZULU will find this more suitable than his most recent. Numbers: 1 – 12 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – FIRESALE EACHWAY Race 9 PLAYING MARIKA put the writing on the wall last start and finally draws a gate for the first time this campaign. Burst onto the scene winning her first three races and ran big closing sections last start behind Patristic. Previous race she contested contained subsequent winners Not To Be Mist, Friars Fantasia, Shuwish and Bee Quick. PATRISTIC was ridden to perfection by Kristy Bennett who is really starting to emerge through the apprentice ranks. Jumps, runs and is hard to beat. PALACHINO has ability but the dreaded bars on. FIELD OF VISION racing well but can’t draw a lid. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 10 – 2 Suggested Bet – PLAYING MARIKA WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,2,9 2,3,6,7 1,3,5,6,8,12 1,3 Market Market
