Scott Embry’s Wednesday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on October 2, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 CLOAK AND DAGGER has been a great addition to the in-form George Grljusich yard and can add further success here. Once imagines Alan Kennedy looks to lead and control. FOXY ROYALE has been up all season and continues to race extremely consistently without breaking through. Is sure to give another honest account of himself. IT’S DYNAMITE returned well from a let up but her peak performances are generally with fresh legs. ONE HOT FOX next best. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – CLOAK AND DAGGER WIN Race 2 MISS FROST was thrown in the deep end on debut in the G3 Gimcrack Stakes where she was outclassed but still ran a great race. Recent barrier trial is hard not to like and if she can be within striking distance is a big hope. MOSCHARD flew home at his most recent start recording the fastest last 600m sectional of the day. Needs the right run in transit but is the danger. WHISPERIT comes from a strong form race on debut and could sneak in under the radar. RANGER’S REWARD hasn’t been far away from some handy types. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – MISS FROST WIN Race 3 FLAGSTICK has been thereabouts in metro and provincial races and meets mediocre opposition here. Should get the run she needs from the good gate and looks to have found her maiden. VOLKSWAGON FRANK is likely to be the less preferred of the 2 former JT Warwick gallopers, but from the wide draw Mitchell Pateman may find himself outside the leader. KING FOR LIFE showed enough on debut to indicate he will be winning a race of this nature soon. HEIDI WHITES was given every possible at her most recent and has her work cut out from the outside gate. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – FLAGSTICK WIN Race 4 DECOY NOXIOUS has relished the step up to staying trips and this race appears to have his name written all over it. Wouldn’t rule out him backing up off 4 days into the Kal Cup. Should be too strong. ALTAMONT appears the only realistic danger. Hasn’t been disgraced recently and form behind Juicing Carrots is good enough for this. RELEASE THE SAX was huge from off the speed two starts ago. Expect him to be ridden cold and improve. NOBLE KING is still a maiden, but destined to find the front with 52.5kg. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – DECOY NOXIOUS WIN Race 5 PALMA MERENTI caught the eye in his Goldfields debut and has since been running fair races without really threatening. Autier is likely to settle at the rear of the field and save him for one deep sustained run. PARTYBUS drops sharply in trip after a failed staying attempt. He will enjoy a soft run from the inside gate, no surprise to see him run a race. GALVESTON BAY impressed at his first run for team Fernie and they now leg up Kal King Mitchell Pateman. HAYAN LAD has threatened to win a race all preparation and this is a weak race. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – PALMA MERENTI EACHWAY Race 6 BANTRY has had excuses at both runs since breaking his maiden status. The blinkers go on, as does the region’s leading rider Mitchell Pateman and the 1600m looks his ideal trip. Expect him to lead and control. SKINNEN TINS was scratched after a float mishap and was previously a very strong winner at Northam. Reproducing that effort sees her very hard to beat. ILLMATIC broke through for a well deserved maiden victory and looks progressive enough to go on with it. Gate 1 a concern. MAULDENS MILL notched his second career victory thanks to a Jason Whiting special. Maps to get the soft run he needs. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – BANTRY EACHWAY Race 7 ROGER THE ROMAN again takes the unconventional road to the Hannans, with recent runs being at Broome, Darwin and Carnarvon. It’s hard to forget the run the people’s champ produced last year and no doubt Garth Hall will mention it 1899 times on the day with little brother Peter riding. RED PUBLISHER was nailed on the line when lumping 61.5kg around in open company. He is more than capable of winning this with 54kg. FRIARESQUE is becoming a bridesmaid of sorts but the drop back to 1400m and shades should see him put in the mix. VIKING FORREST lands 3 back the fence and could be the best local hope. Numbers: 4 – 12 – 9 – 15 Suggested Bet: ROGER THE ROMAN EACHWAY Race 8 BEVEL broke a frustrating run of outs when saluting in emphatic fashion last time out. Should enjoy a very similar run in transit and has to be the one to beat here on recent form. NASHVILLE CAT went under as a short priced favourite and lumps the topweight of 60kgs but you can never discount the training mastermind of Adam Durrant. HILLBERT will get off them and swoop deep late. Grows a leg for Pateman. CARD KNIGHT has impressed since his arrival on the Goldfields. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet: BEVEL WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,3,4,5 1,2,3,6,7 1,3,4,9,12,13,15 1,2,9 Market Market
