Scott Embry’s Wednesday Bunbury Preview Posted on January 15, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 BRITISH BESSY is back out to a staying trip and while Troy Turner abandons ship which is always concerning she looked to do enough last start charging home to suggest she can win this without him. DED MOROZ is the one who Turner sticks with and showed staying ability last start. UNDER THE ARCHES has been promising to win one of these for a while and should get every chance from the gate. GENZEBE looks an out and out grinder. Numbers: 10 – 5 – 8 – 12 Suggested Bet – BRITISH BESSY WIN Race 2 MINIKA was crunched late on debut, $4.40 into $2.60 and after settling behind the leader in a lovely position was shuffled back as the winner made her move and then never saw daylight. Back to 1100m expect McGruddy to lead. JEDAFFAIR was well commissioned on the back of a strong trial. The 1000m straight sees plenty of horses undone. Forgive. EBONY MAGI showed real promise on debut with a big run. Can win. SPEEDY MISS is fresh for a stable in form. Numbers: 9 – 5 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – MINIKA WIN Race 3 CREATIVE HERO won’t be any Hero’s price but the debut run was strong and the step up to 1400m looks ideal. Takes a fair bit of beating here. PEARLS FROM HEAVEN was backed consistently from the time markets opened on debut and ran an impressive race. Looks the danger. AY TEE EMM has improved at every run so far this preparation. LAYLO was a better run than it looks on paper. Waiting for her to step out over further. Numbers: 7 – 12 – 6 – 14 Suggested Bet – CREATIVE HERO WIN Race 4 MANHATTAN MONEY was never a winning chance from where she settled on debut in a race that was dominated from the front and on a day where you had to be on speed to win. Effort was easily good enough to win second-up. CARLEY EMILY comes out of two straight races and improved sharply second-up. ARCTIC BLUE has shown ability at two runs so far and positions up well from the gate. HAPPY SANDAY has run a few good races in his career and now lobs at the Warwick camp. Numbers: 13 – 8 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – MANHATTAN MONEY Race 5 PARADISE SQUARE drops out of Saturday grade back into a moderate 60+ affair. If he opens an eachway quote looks a great bet. Has the speed to sit in the box seat and Mitch Pateman is going at exactly 20% last 180 days. LORD LUDLOW is always a chance in this grade, especially if Jason Brown can find the front. MEDIA BARON is no doubt looking for further than this but is horse to follow this campaign. GLIMMER GIRL has found another suitable assignment for an astute trainer. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – PARADISE SQUARE EACHWAY Race 6 PERSISTENCE TIME can definitely mix his form but does run for Clint Johnston-Porter and in a very even type of race he appeals as the one who money could well come for and is worth a nibble at a price. REEF KEEPER has been racing below his best for a while but gets every chance from the gate. STAIRWAYTOTHEMOON has blinkers added for her second crack at a staying journey. Was admirable at her first attempt. HE’S A PARKER showed a little something last start. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – PERSISTENCE TIME EACHWAY Race 7 DAWN ARMADA is very well placed here against all age opposition. As a 3 year old filly she is well weighted and they can even afford to put the senior on. She has talent and looks to be in a great race for her. REGAL POWER jumps off the page. Placed to The Velvet King and Festival Miss is brilliant form for a race like this. JOHNOS ROCKET finished a long way back first-up but the run was full of merit. Worth novelty inclusion. MYCROFT was there abouts in Saturday grade all last preparation. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 12 – 2 Suggested Bet – DAWN ARMADA WIN Race 8 CRYPTIC LOVE found the front first-up on a day where the rail was not the place to be. Had 42 days between runs and then went down the 1000m straight at Pinjarra. This is a suitable race for her and she can definitely win. MURRAY THE BULLDOG has a gate, has speed and raced in tougher than this last preparation after winning fresh. AKVAVIT runs plenty of placings but the Wizard will need to be at his best from that sticky draw. COCKY DODD is very green but he looks to have latent ability and could keep improving. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – CRYPTIC LOVE WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,4,7,8 1,2,3,5,7 3,6 1,5,9 Market Market
