Scott Embry’s Wednesday Bunbury Preview Posted on June 11, 2024June 11, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 GOD SHE’S SASSY looks a massive filly from the vision of her 930m back straight Lark Hill trial win (she is the half-sister to Pat’s Got Sass who was enormous) and she looks to have a similar level of natural ability. Covered the ground brilliantly on the soft7 trial surface and skipped away to win in slick time by 9L. She has Paul Harvey riding 55kg on a Wednesday and that’s about as much of a push as many will need. ROCKIN’ ROBIN has barrier 1 to work with and can kick through to hold a spot. Trialled well like many of Adam Durrant’s recently. COONDLE tried hard down the straight last week at Pinjarra. FIGHTING THUNDER was only 3L off Rockin’ Robin in his trial. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – GOD SHE’S SASSY WIN RACE 2 SKYTALKER finally put it all together last start and was a dominant maiden winner. The way he accelerated late showed just how raw he still is – went from under pressure to in front in the space of 2 – 3 strides. Going back at Bunbury is the big concern but he looks the kind of horse who can go on with it now. HEYFIELD BOOMER is only a York winner but he bolted in and is high speed. SIRIUS STORM was crunched in betting last start but never really travelled the winner at any stage. Shades go on now. ALOTOFBANTER should land in the right spot from the inside draw and has raced in better company than this throughout his career. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – SKYTALKER WIN RACE 3 TEABISCUIT was backed off the boards last start but punters left the money in the bag when he faded late and finished fourth. Still have to be respectful of the volume of support that came his way and the fact he still look an improving type. The start prior over 1200m behind Skytalker and subsequent winner Sir Eyrelton was good enough to be competitive in a race like this and he’s drawn a gate to get a nice run. CLASSIC RULER will likely end up as the best horse to come out of this race but is still very new and wayward. No doubt Pike will straighten him up. BIRD ON A WIRE has always shown ability and from the draw should get every chance. CEILI has shown enough – it’s just the barrier that is the unknown. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 12 – 13 Suggested Bet – TEABISCUIT WIN RACE 4 HOSTILE TALK resumed first-up in a C3 1000 at Belmont when pressured throughout on top of the speed and was left a sitting duck for the chasing brigade late in the race. Ended up finishing fourth beaten 1.1L by Capre Omnia, Lost Gravity (since second) and Romming Danger. Didn’t think he was disgraced and with Pike jumping off to side up with Magicash he could be forgotten to an extent in betting. Back to a C1 and if he gets across from a wide draw is more than capable. MAGICASH is the Pike choice of the pair and that has to hold a lot of weight. She was a gritty maiden winner first-up and the entire Ike Racing team is going well. ROMMING DANGER has returned well and wins one very son. HOT NOVA is a handy enough filly resuming. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – HOSTILE TALK WIN RACE 5 CITY ANGEL is aggressively placed by Jayce Buckley back into a C3. First-up she won a Westspeed Platinum, second-up she split The Boss Lady and Goddess Of Giving and then last start was swamped late in a busy finish that included subsequent winner Russian Sniper. Great use of the claim, proven wet track mare and maps to get a nice run. Just needs to see out the 1200. THE GREAT HOYA looms as a big threat. Liked the first-up run when wide throughout and fighting on and love the fact Brad Parnham goes on second-up. CRUISE TO VICTORY has always been a capable type with a lot of quirks. Now with Grant & Alana Williams and trialled well for the new yard. Keep very safe. NUNES can always run well fresh. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 10 – 7 Suggested Bet – CITY ANGEL WIN RACE 6 PEARLY NUGGET had an interrupted start to her preparation after being a late scratching behind the barriers at Pinjarra before resuming in a C3 1200 at Bunbury on a very wet day when looking the winner until the final stride. Improves fitness wise second-up, stays same track/same grade/same distance and with the addition of King Cartel to the lie-up she actually drops half a kilo. Like this race for her. KING CARTEL finds this a lot easier than the 3 year old 1200 he resumed in. Natural improver. SENTIMENTAL BELLE tries hard but just can’t find the right race to break through. RIG A DIG has put in two eye catchers this prep. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – PEARLY NUGGET WIN RACE 7 MYSTERY MOMENT looks well placed back into a 50+ handicap. Last start she raced in a 66+ that contained Fat Roy Slim (two time subsequent winner) as well as form types Magic Whistle, Sowar, Tallangatta and Here For Cheques. Beat home Truly Reliable who was $10 into $4.80 last week and last prep in a 66+ did split Diamond Scene and Strike Now. Nice placement. ARNRAY was a dominant last start winner with the blinkers and Troy Turner going back on. Expect they ride him in a similar manner to turn this into a genuine test of staying ability. HIT THE LIGHTS bolted in a battlers maiden but was visually impressive extending away to win by 4.4L eased down. BIG SWOOP continues to go well. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – MYSTERY MOMENT WIN RACE 8 LYRICAL ANGEL is the half sister to stable star Tin Chooks and looks to be rapidly improving. She looked like she was gone at the 600 last start but then found a second wind and was going three to their one late in the piece to swamp them. We’ve already seen Happy As Larry win out of that race and if she can reproduce she’ll be hard to hold out. BAMBUN BOY was excellent at his return to racing. He was first-up for a year and resumed over 1650m on a Heavy8. Only beaten 2L and was in the ‘wrong’ part of the track. BEAU TALK and PRINCE I THINK both got the job done well last start in easier races but are in form at the right time and mapped to get every chance. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – LYRICAL ANGEL WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,4,7,10 2 2,4,5,6,8 1,2,3,5,8,9 Market Market
