Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on September 7, 2021September 7, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 HEAR ME led everywhere but the winning post last start at Northam in a 2200m maiden when gunned down in the shadows by Sunday Gin. Should again roll to the top and from there he’s the one to run down. These staying maidens don’t get any deeper from start to start so with the additional kilometres in his legs he should take running down. FEUDING is a 3 year old taking on the older and exposed staying maidens. Looks like getting the gun run from the draw. BENTLEY BEAU has proven a frustrating horse to follow this preparation. Clearly has talent but seems to find ways to get rolled. RIPON FALLS can stay and will be doing his best late. Numbers: 4 – 10 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – HEAR ME WIN RACE 2 CHOICE BID has race fitness on his side and a barrier to work with. Should park right over the speed and with Under The Radar and Eye of the Day likely to come out running from wide barriers the option to tuck in behind the speed is there if wanted/needed. His 3 year old 62+ handicap form behind All Day Session, Brooklyn Pier, Jedi Mind and Gunmetal Grey reads up well for a race of this nature. RAIN GOD returns to racing and wasn’t asked for much in a recent trial. Looks the logical danger and is also drawn to get a soft run behind the speed. EYE OF THE DAY has put the writing on the wall at her last two outings. Looks like she’ll be breaking a long, long run of outs soon. MY HIDDEN JOURNEY can sprint well fresh. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – CHOICE BID WIN RACE 3 BUZZOOM returns to racing off the back of a hot trial when looking to have plenty to offer under a Chris Nicoll hold. Burst onto the scene on debut at Ascot when unleashing a powerful turn of foot to zap them from a fair way off the leaders and then was impressive in defeat behind Ponyo in a race dominated from the front. Finished the preparation in a 1400m Saturday event when finishing second to Ain’t No Other Man. Looks capable of winning better races than this and maps well at her return. CHAMPAGNE DAME looks like coming out running in an attempt to find the front. Nice strong trial win over Abloh and has looked to have a motor in every public appearance. Keep safe on debut. DIAMOND BLUE ran some competitive races in Saturday SWP company before being thrown in the deep end into the Perth Stakes, Karrakatta Plate and Sires Produce. WAR GEM is drawn awkwardly but won well fresh. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – BUZZOOM WIN RACE 4 SCORPION STORMZ caught the eye fresh in a Saturday 60+ when finishing off strongly into third over 1000m behind Strathmore Rose and Bedouin Belle. Backed it up second-up with a narrow defeat in a C3 behind Justhandy, beating home Double Spice. Now drops in grade for the second time into a C1 and is drawn to get all the favours. Looks ready to win. TUMIVET was a sharp improver last start on top of the ground. Sneaks back into a C1 and Ryan Hill can find the front if he wishes. This race doesn’t have a lot of pressure and if they allow him to control the race, he’ll be hard to run down. DREAM EVIL is a consistent mare. Can she reproduce her wet track form on a Good4? GALLANT RANGER is never far from the action. Ideally drawn on the back-up. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – SCORPION STORMZ WIN RACE 5 JARMAN was a tough watch 6 days ago at Northam. On a day where the vast majority of winners were coming down the centre of the track, he ended up cutting back to the inside and the gaps simply never appeared at any stage for Lucy Warwick. Went to the line untested and looked to have plenty to offer. Going to butter up and go one more time as this looks another winnable race for him. SATURDAY SUN absorbed a lot of pressure last start in a high speed race where they turned it on at the 1000. Paul Harvey jumps aboard and he is drawn a gate. TO RISE AGAIN looks capable of crossing down to the fence from the outside. 1200m probably stretches him but this isn’t a deep race. RICHARDSON won first-up no trial in this grade last campaign. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – JARMAN WIN RACE 6 STANDOUT ROSE was never asked for an effort at trials and looks poised for a big campaign. Last prep she returned a winner when beating Miss Vasari and Vane Tempest in a handy 3 year old midweek 1200m. Was huge in defeat at Bunbury in a Sky Provincial Series Heat and then an impressive minor place getter to Billy Ain’t Silly in a 3 year old 62+ 1400. This is an open 1200m C3 and with the right run and even luck she can chime in. AGENT KENSINGTON took the step from C1 into 0MWLY strongly last start when finishing second to subsequent 60+ Saturday winner Sassy Trader. Gets the box seat run here. STARLIFT is starting to put it all together and is improving with racing. EXCELESTIAL caught the eye at her return behind Jolly Beggar winner Iseered Iseered. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – STANDOUT ROSE WIN RACE 7 SMASHING is going from strength to strength as she starts to work her way through the grades. Won a lowly C1 two starts ago when getting shuffled back at crucial stages, won a C3 last week when able to track the tempo behind main danger Ginger Flyer and then got off her heels and ran her down strongly on a rain affected track. Backs up off 7 days, gets back to her preferred surface and maps ideally from the draw. Looks another winnable race for the inform mare. LITTLE FLIRT showed two starts ago that she can do it on top of he ground as well as on rain affected ground. Going super and can flash late. ARNIE’S BOY can be forgiven for a flop in the Junction Cup. Previous form was in 66+ Saturday races. Keep safe. ROCK’N’RULER gets his chance to cross to the fence and lead. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – SMASHING WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,4 1,3,8 1,2,3,5,7 5,6,8 Market Market
