Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on August 20, 2019August 21, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 SECAIT picks herself in a moderate 1000m maiden. She has two extremely good races in her short career and trialed excellently last Monday down the 1000m straight at Pinjarra Park. Shades on, drawn in close. She should break her duck. RED DIRT BOY draws awkwardly on debut but looks to have a motor. PURE DYNAMITE will come out running and ran solid races as a juvenile. TOVARICH has been racing consistently since joining Darren Taylor. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – SECAIT WIN Race 2 NAUGHTY BY NATURE was a very good Lark Hill trial finishing off powerfully in a walk and sprint affair. On debut was simply eye catching when she got caught behind a tiring runner and was low flying at them late. Looks a nice animal and this is very winnable off that. BABY BLUES has put in two excellent runs this campaign and is the obvious danger and a deserving favourite. EURASIA is going well for an in-form yard. FLYING GOD didn’t get warm on debut but can improve. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – NAUGHTY BY NATURE EACHWAY Race 3 FRIDAY FILLIES finished strongly first-up no trial over 1000m finishing a very close second to progressive mare Olga Louisa and beating home subsequent winner Citichant. She looks hard to beat in this. MCEDITH makes her WA debut first-up, no trial in typical Gangemi style. Watch the market, looked to have above average ability off New Zealand replays. ICE MAKER only knows one way and the faster the better for him. Beaux Edwards rides him particularly well. ALCINA is getting closer and running well. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – FRIDAY FILLIES WIN Race 4 KELLY’S SECRET got a mile out of his ground last start having drawn wide. Draws far better here and has shown the ability to sit midfield in the past to good effect. Hard to hold out. MONTAGNA caught the eye last start and will continue to improve into the preparation. KING OF JUDAH drops in grade and has been racing well enough for a new trainer to figure. KLEVA KEZZA is not quite racing up to her form of two seasons ago but building towards another win. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – KELLY’S SECRET WIN Race 5 STRATOCREED definitely has the most upside in the field. Extremely consistent type who should position up well from the gate. There is an abundance of speed drawn in various parts of the line and he should go well. STAR GLITTER has never won first-up in his life but the majority of his form is in better races than this. SHARPBOB never came up last preparation, his form in the previous campaign sees him run a cheeky race. FANCY FOX is a veteran 8 year old mare but drops in grade and finished off well last start. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – STRATOCREED WIN Race 6 BLACK DUCATI was scratched from a 60+ race on Saturday where she would have likely jumped favourite. Undefeated after one start, high cruising speed, turn of acceleration, she looks to have a stack of natural ability and likely goes round ~$1.50 here. SPEEDY MISS is another nice mare resuming. If they’re making ground down the middle then watch for her late. FLYING TARGET goes well when drawing soft. FETCH MORE AMMO lobs out the back and finishes off. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – BLACK DUCATI WIN Race 7 WHAT ABOUT MOSES has returned to racing in great style. Trialed well beating the talented Excise Free and then hit the front in a handy Saturday No Metro Win race when nailed on the line by Lookout. They ran over 2 lengths above benchmark and dropping in grade he looks hard to hold out. TYCOON MIKADO went well fresh in a stronger race than this. Form from the Uni Time race (Why Choose Her and Go Crying) has been excellent. LOCOMOTIVE either leads or box seats and should be in the finish. ZERO DEMERITS trialed well but never got in the race first-up. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 2 – 10 Suggested Bet – WHAT ABOUT MOSES WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,5 1,2,3,6,7,8 1,3 2,4,5 Market Market
