Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on July 2, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 WAR ANTHEM should bounce out and put himself into a position just behind a hot top end speed and then when runners fan along the cutaway get every chance to run them down. Form last preparation easily strong enough to win. SALCITY is the half to Salorsci who and when Jeff Noske applied blinkers at his most recent trial he really did accelerate nicely. If he leads he’ll take a deal of catching. SIMONELLY caught the eye first-up. SCANDOLO was left wanting first-up after a flood of support. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet – WAR ANTHEM WIN Race 2 CRYPTIC WONDER showed a lovely turn of foot late in his most recent trial when asked for an effort. In all trials has left the gates safely so should take full advantage of the draw and the cutaway is there if required. TIME TO SIZZLE was sizzling in a recent trial. Ran very good time and when shaken up responded professionally. NOT MY FIGHT kept giving in a recent trial. GIANT LEAP is the first of the Peters juveniles and looked to have plenty in the tank behind runners. Numbers: 5 – 14 – 12 – 7 Suggested Bet – CRYPTIC WONDER WIN Race 3 ARSINOE ran the fastest final 1200, 1000, 400 and 200 of the race last start when winding up down the middle of the track. Looks the strongest form reference in this race and suited up in trip. Provided they can make ground she’ll be hard to hold out. LUKE’S CHOICE comes from the same race and was weaving a passage late. Not much between them. ONYA HEAD can roll to the top and lead without any pressure. FAIRY FAST was a query last week at 1400m and now steps out to another unknown 1700. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – ARSINOE WIN Race 4 SON OF BACCUS has been excellent all campaign after a big trial. So far has raced in 3yo 62+ (with 59kg), Graduation 60+ and most recently a strong rating 64+ where he ran a game fourth. Can lead or stalk the speed and looks extremely well placed. SERENTIY BAY continues to improve as they step her out in trip and drawn to get the cutaway run is the logical danger. BRITISH BESSY can out stay them if it turns into a grind. PERCEPTIVE MISS is building towards another win. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 4 – 12 Suggested Bet – SON OF BACCHUS WIN Race 5 KAKADU has been racing consistently so far this preparation in stronger races than what he drops into here. Drawn to get back but there is a cutaway in play and with the rail at 18m if they’re stacking from the 600 he can get into it. Last start in a 3yo 62+ finished between Classic Pro and subsequent winner Pure Magnus. Worth consideration. APOLLO has been a revelation since joining SJ Wolfe and was arguably a good thing licked at his past two when finding traffic and charging. REGAL COUNSEL finished off strongly late last start. MEGADON should sit prominently and get it soft. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – KAKADU EACHWAY Race 6 ROSEBUSH was a month between runs last start when only plain on face value. Sectionally the run was probably better than it looked and previous effort in a Saturday Graduation was excellent behind Free Trade, Leading Girl and Don’t Fuss, who have all won races since. Can bounce back here. PICTURE PERFECT is a C1 gelding in a C3 race but Pike drawn the cutaway is big danger for rivals. Trialed like he’ll need every inch of 1300m. FAIREDU has been hitting the line well and could roll forward with a lack of exposed speed. SLIK SAM was big last start and has shades re-added. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 10 – 14 Suggested Bet – ROSEBUSH EACHWAY Race 7 BLUE TRACER has been a model of consistency this preparation. From first-up in the Sky Provincial heat over an unsuitable trip to the most recent effort in a 76+ behind Come Play With Me, Noir De Rue and Salon Du Cheval. Has to lump 60kg but Parnham on offsets the weight rise. UNENDING had been enjoying a purple patch of form until last start when she was disappointing. Rating her off previous runs and she’s right in this. SUGAR CAIN put the writing on the wall first-up and second-up and then got the cash when Pike jumped on. Can win again. MEDIA BARON is his own worst enemy and a 3kg claimer engaged could be very hit or miss. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 12 – 1 Suggested Bet – BLUE TRACER EACHWAY Race 8 GILLESPIE VS SIR MAMBO looks an intriguing contest. SIR MAMBO is nominated and accepted for Thursday so pre-post punters beware. GILLESPIE was huge first-up when attacking in the breeze outside of Baron Bostock and Essential Spice in a race run over 5 lengths above average. Backed as if unbeatable last start in a C3 and nothing went right but also looked a shade disappointing when getting clear. Can bounce back to best form here. SIR MAMBO will be extremely hard to beat whichever way connections elect to go. PRINCE OF PROMISES trialed without shades so can’t read too much into it. SHE’S A GALAH can sprint well up the cutaway. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 13 Suggested Bet – GILLESPIE WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,3,4 2,5,6,10,14 1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9,12 1,2 Market Market
