Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on September 23, 2025September 23, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 MISS GRAPHENE has competed at C1 level her last three and some of the form is actually really good: split Barecover Rock and subsequent winner Romantic Ruler three starts ago, beaten 2.5L by Romantic Ruler and subsequent winners Decision Maker and Capable Angel two starts ago and is now on the 7 day spin out of a testing 1650m. Does no work and presents late. ZOOMACHINO was luckless last start when tramping three deep the trip in a race where they marched along. Exquisite Taste and Old Mate Henry quinella’d out of that form line last Thursday at Bunbury. OBSCENTINO has the runs at the distance. CLASSIC TURN looks like she’ll stay. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – MISS GRAPHENE WIN RACE 2 FILA MIA has the best race form by lengths. She finished less than 3L off Talkanco and Yes Queen, less than 2L off Capitola, Brave Wasp and Playin’ It Sweet and then ran second in a WA Sires beating home Snitzalatte in the process. The query is where she gets from the really tricky draw? CONCHETTA’S DREAM was scratched from last Thursday at Bunbury to save for this and she’s the best drawn of the main fancies. She has improved with each trial and the most recent was a very strong win. EXCEED THE BOOM is Perth Stakes placed and resumes for an in form yard. LONG SERVICE LEAF trialled super (again) last week. Numbers: 6 – 10 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – FILA MIA WIN RACE 3 MY HUCKLEBERRY made his debut in a 3 year old 0MWLY carrying 59kg and finished fourth behind exciting pair Fine Star and Win For Buster. In that event he beat home key rival Mr Kissinger by over 1.5L and meets him half a kilo better at the weights this time around. He deserves favouritism off that run and yet will likely go around eachway. TYCOON DREAMER went into her debut off only a 400m jump out and she wasn’t disgraced when beaten 2.6L by Esta Mirando in a race that is expected to hold up as a form reference. MR KISSINGER was tougher last week and looked to appreciate being allowed to stride. KING’S DRAMA has a few quirks and does a lot wrong. Numbers: 6 – 9 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – MY HUCKLEBERRY EACHWAY RACE 4 BRAVE WASP was all the rage at his return to racing in a Saturday 3 year old Plate when finishing second to Swingman and beating home a quality filly like God’s Rapture. From a Saturday back to a midweek maiden and is drawn to park midfield and wind up late. This looks a great race for him. TORONADO ROCKET was run down by a nice one first-up in Tip The Boss. They cleared out from the rest and he again looms the obvious danger. HOT CHIX LANE is through the Esta Mirando race and got a chop out in the home straight. NICE AS PIE can give cheek. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 13 – 6 Suggested Bet – BRAVE WASP WIN RACE 5 WIN FOR BUSTER looks a nice type in the making. Loved his trial at Lark Hill when balancing up and showing a sharp turn of foot and then was nabbed in the shadows of the post by a Champion Fillies bound Fine Star on debut. If you swap the runs, you swap the result of that event and now he drops 3.5kg into an All Age maiden. Shop early – could get very short late. LINCHPIN caught the eye at trials and was only just hitting top gear late. Look like he’ll need at least 1400. HOYA DESTROYER is still doing too much wrong. Threw away the race last start through poor manners. BOLD FIGHT was no match for Moonshine Queen at Bunbury. Shades on now. Numbers: 9 – 11 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – WIN FOR BUSTER WIN RACE 6 STRAPPING PROPHET was enormous on debut from a mile back in a race completely dominated on speed, won impressively second-up in a 1400m maiden and then nearly won a 3 year old Saturday at only his third career outing. Has spelled, has trialled extremely well and finds a weak C1 mid-weeker to resume in. 1200m short of his best, 60.5kg and barrier 10/10 make things interesting but think he’s got far more upside than rivals. SPANK APPEAL may not have the same level of ability but he’ll bounce on the lead and stay out of trouble. ZIPPY ZANY found a bit of trouble from start to finish last start and now gets Pike. BATTLE FLEET is a monster of an animal and looks to have some mental demons. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – STRAPPING PROPHET WIN RACE 7 UUKHAI resumed first-up, no trial, at 1000m on a Soft6 and held his own behind Niccimota and Go Go Grommet. Think he’s far better suited at 1200, far better suited on top of the ground and far better suited in a race where he can cross and lead. Went to a whole new level last prep when allowed to stride and expect that’s what Brandon Louis does here. PERFECT CHANT burst onto the scene with a debut 3 year old Saturday win. Must have a few issues because her last three have all been lengths below her run in the 3 year old Magic Millions and she’s now second-up off 63 days. FLAGSHIP is a horse the market loves but was only plain last start after being given the run of the race? AMJAAD is well placed. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – UUKHAI EACHWAY RACE 8 LEETRON was always a possibility (probability) of being caught three deep the trip last start when drawn barrier 10/12 and thought he did a massive job to still finish third behind Centre Bond who ran really well Saturday. Second-up he’s drawn barrier 4 and he’s got the versatility to lead if nobody wants to be there and to sit if they take him on. SURROUND ME kept coming last week behind Ain’tsobad and has been going well all campaign. Hard to knock. SECRICITY will go around big prices but did catch the eye at her return. SUMMER’S LEGACY ran a ripper first-up at 1400m last campaign in a 3 year old Saturday with lots of depth. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 12 – 7 Suggested Bet – LEETRON EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 9 1,3,7 1,2,4,6,7,11 4,6 Market Market
