Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on March 10, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 SAUVEGARDE has been in work a long time but continues to race in great form. Made undefeated impressive Saturday winner Talladega work last start and is probably even better suited with a sit. Laqdar Ramoly has ridden her to all three wins and they reunite here. KENTUCKY LOVE didn’t stick out the trip in the Ascot 1000 Guineas when run into the ground by Lonsdale Lady. Hard to beat from the top. POMME worked hard to win at Narrogin but that was a slowly run race. PRETTY FRIAR next. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – SAUVEGARDE WIN Race 2 HE’S ALL MIGHTY looks a forgone conclusion in the second. Rail out 14m means that horses can sit off the track and win and even if he gets caught in the cheap seats from the outside should be far too good. Comes from a race run 3L faster than average and they cleared out from third. IMPERIALISM hasn’t been seen since the one and only trial but it was good. SIOUX CITY is speedy and can give some cheek. MELODY’S SECRET has been going well. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – HE’S ALL MIGHTY WIN Race 3 JUST A PINCH looks a well above average animal. The 1000m trial in her first preparation was seriously impressive when leading and cruising through the line and the recent 400m jump out behind Solaia was very good too. HOW’S THE SERENITY looks like the testing material off the back of a sustained trial run from back in the field. Interesting to see how they ride her (forward or back). SAMSURIAN brings intrigue as a high-priced yearling purchase. SPICED DELIGHT trialed well with the shades. Numbers: 8 – 7 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – JUST A PINCH WIN Race 4 DARING SOLEIL ran well two starts ago in a mid week race with the rail out. Last start was caught deep the trip and was never really a winning chance in running. Can give this a shake at a price. CELTIC DIVA is suited with the rail at 14m and gets her chance in a weak C1. COME RIGHT BACK will open seriously short for a horse who can do a lot wrong and is very raw. Comes from a race 7.5L slower than average, risky launching into the odds-on quote. CHIEF COCHISE ran well fresh. Numbers: 7 – 6 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – DARING SOLEIL EACHWAY Race 5 THE NICCONIAN never looked like getting beaten last start. Was exemplary placement by Neville Parnham back into a mid-weeker and he gets the luxury of staying in the same grade care of the 3kg claim for Laqdar Ramoly. If he can find the fence and burn he’s a chance of going back to back. MORE ACES wins one in this grade very soon. Victoria Corver is 1 ride for 1 win and looked solid in the saddle. ORANGE STUDEL has been going well for a while and draws a soft gate. WARFISH was scratched from Saturday to save for this. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 11 – 10 Suggested Bet – THE NICCONIAN WIN Race 6 CITY CIRCLE won well two starts ago when running down Star Glitter and then last start found traffic up the entire length of the straight. With clear air she should go close to bouncing back here. STAR GLITTER lead two starts ago against the pattern and then last start flopped out to last. The wide draw could be a blessing in disguise. He is bursting to win a race. NOBELIUM was sent back to trials last start. His 5 prior efforts all huge. AY TEE EMM has a senior rider back on and that is a big plus for him. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – CITY CIRCLE WIN Race 7 STREET FAIR is a back marker with a 3kg claimer. Never an ideal situation, but in a race with the entire field ridden by apprentices and Campbell Rawiller punching home regular winners he gets the nod at an eachway quote. PICTURE PERFECT was a victim of circumstance first-up in a race that did not suit at all. Adin Thompson has a seriously good strike rate. KELLY’S GEM and CELTIC COURT are both getting close to breaking through. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – STREET FAIR EACHWAY Race 8 DIVINE SHADOW arguably should have won first-up. Got planted three deep the trip from gate 3 and worked hard in the run. They were marching along at a strong tempo behind Al Di La and he was only beaten by a horse who go the run of the race. Second-up, drawn a gate, 3kg claim for an in-form apprentice and a drop in grade. He looks hard to beat. TRULY GREAT ran well at his first start for 400 days. Logic says he’ll be very hard to hold out. SOLID AZZA should get track conditions to suit. She has a barn storming finish on her. OUR IDYLL has ability and will go round a big price. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – DIVINE SHADOW WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,3,8,10,11 2,3,5,7 1,2,3,5,7 1,3,8 Market Market
