Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on February 18, 2020February 19, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 OHBEEH won well on debut when finding the front and then was a little flast at his most recent but the Money Matters, Guesteen form looks fairly strong now. Raw type but should find the fence or the breeze and goes close. SHERPA LASS was a strong debut winner in Winter at Belmont Park. Soft trials and looks to be above average. PICK YOUR BATTLES won well last start after putting the writing on the wall at nearly every career run. This is a bit tougher. SHE’S GOT MERIT beat a nice one fresh (Tommy Blue) and will go round a big price. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – OHBEEH WIN Race 2 FAIROGUE backs up from a game effort in defeat last start. Looks likely to settle right over the speed and could even find the fence. Rail at 11m and an Easterly breeze forecast means she gets conditions to suit. I SKATE has been big in both career outings. Takes on older horses as only a 2yo but looks like the 1500 is right up his alley. MISS DOMINICAN went round at huge odds on debut and ran a ripper. GLAMOURESQUE hit the line on debut. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 9 – 6 Suggested Bet – FAIROGUE WIN Race 3 TYCOON STORM looks classes above opposition. Was well thought of in the Pinjarra Magic Millions race but no match for the likes of Cryptic Wonder. Wine Night has made the form look better by running third in the Challenge Stakes. Short but should be far too good. SMILE FOR ME either leads or box seats and should be finishing around the money. UNIBELLE not giving up on just yet after two good runs to start her career. RED HOT TIP trialed well for a return to the track. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – TYCOON STORM WIN Race 4 CRIMINAL CODE was forgotten in the market on debut after trialing well. Won impressively and immediately tipped out. Returns here and was not asked for an effort in a recent trial. Draws soft and Tiarnna Robertson has the best strike rate in WA last 6 months. LONSDALE LADY made Dark Mission look second rate when bolding in her maiden. She is likely to prove hard to catch. FAIREDU didn’t really come up last preparation. Forgiving. TOLLMAN gets every favour from the gate. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – CRIMINAL CODE EACHWAY Race 5 STAR GLITTER was found by every punter in WA last weekend and lead for the first time in his life. There will be mixed opinions on his run but those who follow track patterns and rail positions will be following up. CITY CIRCLE got the drop on Star Glitter last weekend and no reason she can’t win again. PASAJERO ran a ripper fresh in a tougher race than this over 1000m. Keep safe at a big price. OKINA KURI could end up three back the paint in a fast run race. That’s Pike’s bread and butter. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – STAR GLITTER EACHWAY Race 6 BEDOUIN BELLE fresh back to 1000m looks hard to hold out late. She draws a gate to stalk the speed (and there is plenty of it) and she goes better for Jade McNaught than anyone else. EXCELLENT DREAM was a slight query at 1200 last start and was run down. Lost no admirers and back to 1000m deserves favoritism. OLGA LOUISA trialed the house down and went well fresh. Senior rider on is a big plus. MAGICAL CHARGE has ability but the draw is very tricky. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – BEDOUIN BELLE EACHWAY Race 7 MR KUNAFA was fresh last start at Bunbury returning off a mini let-up. He might not be an apprentice’s horse and he could end up in a bit of a sticky position but he is the most progressive horse in a race where all opponents have queries on their form. GEOGRAPHE BAY is in a purple patch of form but does have a habit of missing away. KLEVA KEZZA went close fresh at Geraldton. She could find herself in front by default. BEANIE could improve sharply second-up. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – MR KUNAFA WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,4,7,8 2,3,6 1,3,4 1,3,6 Market Market
