Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on February 12, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 SANABREANNA was left in the wake of Mia Dolce over the 1000m at Bunbury. Form looks good now with that filly running 4th in the Magic Millions. Not a deep race and deserves to be favouite. SLOW TRAIN COMING has shown ability at trials and draws well. KAKAZI bolted in his most recent trial and looks to have his fair share of talent. CASUAL TRADE follows the fence. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – SANABREANNA WIN Race 2 OLGA LOUISA likely ends up sitting outside of the Jim Taylor runner drawn inside of her. She showed a lot at trials and flopped badly on debut. Bounced back hard to win her maiden and then went close behind a nice one in The Ninth Hour. PRINCE ANDREI has nice 2 and 3 year old form and this is one of his easier assignments to date. MAGNATE STAR was big on debut in a very strong form reference in blistering time. Wins plenty of races. MISS UNFORGETTABLE may find the 1000m a bit sharp but rail out helps. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – OLGA LOUISA WIN Race 3 COCKY DODD may have been handed a blessing in disguise with the wide draw. Expect Glenn Smith to let him flop out the back and then he can wind up three deep with cover which is where the majority of winners come from over a mile with the rail at 14m. LOCOMOTIVE should find the front easy enough for Pateman and controls. ADORNMENT should only improve with racing and distance. JOVELLA was a surprise packet at most recent trial, looks a stayer. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – COCKY DODD EACHWAY Race 4 LAKEVIEW AND STAR will be all the rage after the regally bred gelding belted opposition on debut. Was afforded all the favours in that race and the time he ran was only fair but he did it in first gear. Will be deep in the red again but looks the winner. INDIAN CHANT was eye catching in the same race after missing away and charging late. PING ME ANOTHER has run two very good races but runs into a couple of nice ones. REBEL KNIGHT has had corrective throat surgery. Showed lots of ability as a 2 year old. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 10 – 2 Suggested Bet – LAKEVIEW AND STAR WIN Race 5 RAYARNIE survived a protest last start after a brilliant front running ride from Jason Brown. After the claim he is very well weighed and looks suited to finding the front and rolling from the 600. Can make it two on the bounce. ORIENTAL ROSE was arguably a good thing beaten last start and can make amends here. HAY MAGIC has been running very well in tougher races than this and can get under the radar. STAFFORD’S LAD was finishing off well last start and Pike jumps back aboard. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – RAYARNIE EACHWAY Race 6 PADDY’S SHADOW dropped from a Saturday back to a midweeker with the rail out two starts ago when bolting in. It is the exact same scenario here and she looks simply a class above rivals again here. LUCKY LINDA LULU was no match for her last time they met but again looks the danger. DO A PATAKY comes from a weak maiden but looks progressive. DANEFIN goes better for Glenn Smith than anyone and has been there abouts recently. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 11 – 4 Suggested Bet – PADDY’S SHADOW WIN Race 7 PURE MAGNUS won his maiden stylishly and then got a long way out of his ground in a fast run 1200m race dominated from the front at Pinjarra. This looks much more suitable and he should get a nice run midfield. DIME A DECOY is a bit improver out in trip and ran well fresh. LADY SASS ran nice races as a 3 year old and trialed up well for her return. PICASSO BAY ran well last start and has a sharp turn of foot. Numbers: 2 – 11 – 13 – 6 Suggested Bet – PURE MAGNUS EACHWAY Race 8 THE FUGAZI should be going very close first-up for a stable in-form and a stable noted for getting them up fresh. He bolted in first-up no trial last preparation, was eye catching against older horses second-up and thrown in the deep end in the Guineas. This looks a nice starting point for him. THE ESCORT was able to swoop over the top of them in a slowly run race last start, looks the danger. SLIK SAM could be the blow out if they’re winding up down the center. KLONDIKE KENNY always finds traffic but will win one at odds soon. Numbers: 9 – 3 – 14 – 6 Suggested Bet – THE FUGAZI WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,3,4,5 2 2,6,10,11,13 9 Market Market
