Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on March 18, 2025March 18, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SNITZALATTE was a really nice trial. It was only 600m, it was down the straight at Pinjarra, but it was hard to ignore how well she travelled under William Pike and how sharp her turn of foot looked when asked to come out after the leader. Can box seat on debut and there’s a cutaway available if required on straightening. GINGERIFFIC trialled well behind Exceed The Boom who was plunged on Saturday. JEWEL OF ZAVALA improves with experience. GOOD AS HELL covered the ground well late in her jump out. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – SNITZALATTE WIN RACE 2 PEANUT BUTTER was stiff on debut. Drew barrier 1, was slightly slow away and then ended up leader’s back and was unable to build into the race until it was all over. Thinking that second-up he can come across from a wide gate and put himself into a commanding position in what looks a winnable race. FOXY RASCAL hit a lot of wet tracks when last in work and showed above average ability. SWANSEE was attacking the line nicely once clear on debut. KINGS DRAMA gets out to 1200m and is far better suited here in a maiden. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 11 – 6 Suggested Bet – PEANUT BUTTER EACHWAY RACE 3 ALL FIRED UP showed huge improvement second-up when he got over more ground. With the early scratching of She’s Perfection it opens the race right up and if he can reproduce the same L600 over 1800m he’ll be hard to hold out. REEL SERENITY caught the eye late last start. ALITTLE SCOONER wasn’t horrible last start. SAFARI BOY was a good run last start at odds behind a really good filly in Machine Gun Gracie. Numbers: 3 – 12 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – ALL FIRED UP WIN RACE 4 SAINTY CULLITY gives travelling hoop Elisha Whittington a genuine chance at riding her first metro winner and her second overall winner in the State since arriving. He showed huge potential in his initial campaign and covered the ground nicely in his recent trial. Capacity line-up and joins the three deep train as soon as it builds. SISTER TALK and SWINDLE THE DOUGH can settle at the opposite end of proceedings and stay out of trouble at the front of the field. Both are knocking on the door. REDBACK FLYER trialled well for his return. Numbers: 4 – 11 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – SAINTY CULLITY EACHWAY RACE 5 AMAROO STAR is starting to put it all together. Last time out was the first race in which he had travelled comfortably within himself and when asked to accelerate he went straight past Nicely Played to turn the tables on her from their previous encounter. He can allow speedy filly Lucky I Am to come across and track her into the race. AMARLIME (Amarlie-Me) was doing her best late and through the line in her straight win at Pinjarra and looks progressive. OVERDRIVE is racing well but can’t quite pinch one. MAGALI MAGIC ran down a handy filly last start to win. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – AMAROO STAR WIN RACE 6 DEVILS I should have nearly won last start. He was held up at crucial stages and didn’t see clear galloping room until the last 100 when really charging late. MAXWHOOSHTAPIN is a monster. He’s not a pick up and sprint horse, he’s a grind them into the ground horse and CJP knows that which means his return is huge. YOUGIVEMECHILLS was actually getting home quite well last start in what was the worst part of the track in review at Belmont. BLACK FOR CASH suited back in grade. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – DEVILS I WIN RACE 7 SIXINCH HEELS trialled like a filly who would be winning first-up and she did exactly that. Was $1.65 into $1.28 and romped in. Looks to have come back in outstanding order and expect she’ll take plenty of beating here, even in a C1 with some depth to it. WEMBANYAMA couldn’t have trialled any better and Mack Hall’s yard is enjoying a real purple patch. BRAZEN BID is now a 3 year Plate Saturday, a 66+ and a 60+ Graduation back into a C1. He’s dangerous in this grade. FLAGSHIP has trialled super on both occasions. Numbers: 11 – 2 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – SIXINCH HEELS WIN RACE 8 TAWKIN’ JIBBERISH has been forced to settle off-speed in her last two outings due to wide barriers. This time around she can use her biggest asset, cross, lead and kick hard into the corner. Last time she led she won by over 2L this track/distance. Different horse in front. DIVINE IMPACT won a 3 year old 0MWLY 1000 first-up at Belmont when last in work. Big respect for her fresh. SIMPLY THINKIN’ is suited over further but can definitely sprint well early in her prep (as she did in her trial win). MAGIC BELLE tries hard but lacks a killer instinct. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – TAWKIN’ JIBBERISH WIN RACE 9 STOPTHEPROSPECTOR is a maiden mare in a 54+ but quite simply – this race is ugly. There’s no speed, there’s no depth and so we’ll trust Grant & Alana and William Pike. She was a tough watch first-up and if the gaps appeared (at any stage) for Chanel Cooper it looked like the mare was ready to chime in. Could win – could run last? BERNBRAE is 1 from 26, approaching 900 days since last win and comes through a race where the first 1000m was run in 1:08:18. Says it all. POINTLESS PRAISE and RUBICK LASS come through the faster run 1800 and finished off well. Numbers: 13 – 5 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – STOPTHEPROSPECTOR WIN RACE 10 DEFERRED is a nice mare. She resumed over an unsuitable 1000m in a 66+ when powering to the line late behind in form stablemate Rocking Gem. Back in grade, out in distance and drawn to get the right run midfield with cover. Looks a great set up for her on her way back to Saturday racing. KIRALUI goes better for Shaun O’Donnell than anyone else. MAGNASONIC is a consistent type and can utilise the cutaway. ZOUBOLTZ can bounce back from a lacklustre performance last start. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – DEFERRED WIN RACE 11 PERFECT CHANT has options from the draw. If the cutaway is a fast lane – hold a position midfield and then dart back to the inside; if the cutaway is quick sand – she can kick through to lead and that gives her the chance to work her way up the track in the home straight. Versatile filly and hoping that the shades sharpen her up. Willing to forgive one poor run. PLAYING GAMES got to the line strongly last start and the winner of that race was plunged (and won) on Saturday. CAVALLO RED deserves to win another race but is finding it very hard. SPORTS TALK is racing well. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – PERFECT CHANT WIN RACE 12 STYLISH LORD has been teasing punters all campaign but on paper this does look the most winnable race he has seen. Beaten favourite at two of his last three but they’ve both been Saturday races and against better opponents than he meets here. TOURETTO ended up four deep (and pulling) in the most ridiculously run race Ascot has seen in years. MORE THAN ENUFF was super fresh when parking three deep the trip and winning. TIFF’S LAD was a cheeky run for the new yard. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 3 – 13 Suggested Bet – STYLISH LORD WIN Quaddie (Race 9 – 12) FD 3 1,7 1,3,6 Market Market
