Scott Embry’s Tuesday Geraldton Preview Posted on November 2, 2025November 1, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 CANTILEVER is a former Peters Investments galloper who has put the writing on the wall with three really good runs in Geraldton. Got within 2.3L of now C1 winner Belvedere Rock after making a mid-race move two back and last start tried hard to go with Westbound who could well line-up in a Fairetha Stakes next weekend at Ascot. Senior on – tick, out to a mile – tick. BEST RESULT has hit the line well in both runs this campaign. SAFARI BOY can show speed and will likely look to get across early. Only seems to stay interested when ridden in that manner. HEZA GRUNT only got warm at 2000m last prep and looks even more one paced now. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – CANTILEVER WIN RACE 2 BELVEDERE ROCK is an emerging talent. He’s got lengths more ability than anything in his line-up and could be capable of going maiden to C1 to 58+ to even 70+ in the one campaign he’s got that much upside, it’s just whether his brain is ready for it. Doing plenty wrong and yet still dominating them. Really like the horse. NEVER SOBER is on his mark but he continues to run honest races in defeat. Would love to see him lead to make a race of it. BENTLEY BEAU still has some sprint in those old legs. He’s going really well for Kylie Craig. MOMBASA is a proven miler and Taj Dyson rides him particularly well. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – BELVEDERE ROCK WIN RACE 3 KIDDING ME was kept really safe on debut in a 3 year old 0MWLY this time last year when going around at $6 behind Catch Carter. Admittedly hasn’t shown much at the races but has always trialled quite well and from the draw she should get every chance in the weakest race she has seen so far. GLIMMERINTHEDUST heads to Geraldton to make her debut and the recent trial down the back straight had a bit to like about it. Tash Faithfull riding Kidding me over him is a big indicator surely. BIG BOPPER has shades going on and no doubt the big boy will look to work across from the outside as usual. Does look a big chance of being caught three deep though? MAGNIFICENT MIA was a forgive and forget run last start. Numbers: 6 – 7 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – KIDDING ME WIN RACE 4 ZING TO WIN heads back to Team Pearce after another season on the Goldfields with master trainer MR Peter Fernie. He is a last start 70+ winner at the KBRC and 16 days later he’s able to race in that same grade on the Midwest at the GTC. 1100m seems to be his sweet spot and think he’ll have too much firepower for the locals. ON THE MARK is now a hard horse to place. Barry Newnham has to follow the 70+ programming and so he’s now second-up 1400 back to 1120. Get him fit and get him to Perth. PRINCE RAGNAR is always hard to run down when allowed to stride. HITE THE JACKPOT is nicely placed by a travelling Boy Hill. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – ZING TO WIN TO WIN RACE 5 LIVE LUCKY was backed as if unbeatable at her first-up run for Gordon Spowart last campaign and the money landed. After that went around a beaten favourite on three occasions. Seems to be that her best is her first-up run and from the inside draw Madi Derrick has the option of leading or box seating. SCURGEOFTHEWEST is through the same 1100m trial and while he’ll be better suited over further, he’ll be charging home late here. Think he’ll be worth following this campaign. UNDERCOVER SNIPER has been thereabouts in this grade for the last few seasons. Rarely puts in a bad one. FIRE THE GUARD loved the dirt in Broome and wasn’t bad in two runs in Kal. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – LIVE LUCKY WIN RACE 6 TRULY GALLANT is the full brother to Group One Northerly Stakes winner Truly Great and was purchased by Brett Renner for $3,250 in the Inglis Online Sale in May. On debut he showed a huge amount of raw talent and potential by winning his maiden by nearly 2L and pocketed $14,125. The way he won, the time he ran and his breeding suggest that they’ve struck Gold. HILLSIDE MONARCH was $3.20 into $1.55 first-up for new trainer Barry Newnham. She could have won by 6L if Austin Galati wanted to. BATTLE ON BATTLER is loving life with Sean Rains. Tough customer. SNIPPETY LEGEND was in a BM70 (~58+) at Flemington back in January. Numbers: 5 – 7 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – TRULY GALLANT WIN RACE 7 GOLD KEEPER won a 58+ 1200 at Geraldton last campaign before running three consecutive runner-up performances to On The Mark, Blue Rocket and Zing To Win in 70+ company. Resumes here in a 58+ off the back of a near 2L trial win and looks very hard to beat. BOLTA ran second in that trial and really came of age on the grass last season. He can continue to work his way through the grades in 2025 and looks the danger. SAFE HUSTLE was a gritty win when it looked like Luckee Floran had him with 150m to go. LEONARDO DA GREY headed home and has clearly thrived. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – GOLD KEEPER WIN Market Market
