Scott Embry’s Tuesday Ascot Preview Posted on November 2, 2020November 2, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ACROMANTULA is yet to taste defeat at the trials and while this is a 3 year old midweeker where he takes on opposition who have won races and still has to carry to weight in the bizarre set weights and penalties conditions he should go close on debut. Looks a nice horse in the making and even though we’re predicting the majority of winners to come down the centre this is only 1000m and you can defy rail pattern. JUST A PINCH is kept fresh and wasn’t too bad at Belmont Park in the mini campaign. FISH HOOK was able to pinch it last start on a heavily leader bias track at Northam. The rail was worth 5L on the day. ALL METAL has only had the 400m jump out this campaign but looks to have talent. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – ACROMANTULA WIN RACE 2 TOWN HALL might sneak under the radar of the market to some extent here. Fourth on debut behind Miss Ivy League and Powerful beating home All Day Session and then again fourth turning the tables of Miss Ivy League and finishing behind Charleton Eddie, Miyagi and Dad’s Bigheaded. Nothing went right in the last two runs of the preparation. Value play. FASHION QUEEN could be one out of the box, you just never know with the Cerise and White debutantes. Had a number of trials and the most recent was the most impressive. JEDI MIND draws the inside and has options. Looks a nice type. TREASURED CROWN another Cerise and White debutante but Chris Parnham has chosen not to ride so we’ll take his lead. Numbers: 3 – 9 – 7 – 10 Suggested Bet – TOWN HALL EACHWAY RACE 3 AT WAR was back to his best last start. Has had four runs in this preparation, first-up was a moral beat when held up the entire length of the straight. Next two runs were in C1 races where he actually carried more weight than he gets in a set weights maiden. Last start was eye catching behind the talented Beau Zoom. That should be the strongest maiden form reference in the race by far. BLAZING PASSION was good last start and looks to hold a spot in running. TESTING LOVE trialled like she will need further than 1200m but likely gets conditions to suit. NO SURRENDER comes back sharply in trip in the middle of a prep. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 10 – 4 Suggested Bet – AT WAR WIN RACE 4 RUBY JEAN got a long way back last start in a race where they absolutely walked in the middle stages. Did a good job to get as close as she did to the winner on the post and that race has already stood up as a form reference with Pretty Friar winning on Thursday at Northam. Gets a more genuine tempo here (if Lord Lonsdale runs) and looks like she’ll stick the trip. LORD LONSDALE is the most interesting runner in the race. If he scratches from Saturday then he’s the one to beat. Highly progressive front running type. HIP WIGGLE was the beneficiary of a B.Parnham special last start. Can C.Parnham fill the shoes? PASARAN was pulling ground off her late but Mitch Pateman jumps ship. Numbers: 7 – 6 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – RUBY JEAN WIN RACE 5 BEFFUNJAR is perfectly placed by the astute Neville Parnham yard. Since winning a 3yo 0MWLY race in December last year (beating home Pambella) she has beaten Stakes winning filly Sanabreanna in a 3YO SWP, run in a Pinjarra Magic Millions, three Saturday 60+ Graduations and most recently a 66+. Drops back into a C3, looks to have hit some form in the last two runs and gets conditions to suit where she can sit back and wind up down the centre. IGARASHI draws a gate to settle right over the speed and if she gets the same run that Lucy Warwick gave her last start she’ll be the testing material. MISS ZEDEL was good at her Durrant debut and should only improve out in trip. AY TEE EMM has a big weight but has a turn of foot. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – BEFFUNJAR WIN RACE 6 BEAU ZOOM was $5.50 into $2.05 at his WA debut and didn’t let punters down. He sat outside a frenentic tempo and then when Chris Parnham said go went straight past the leader and was running away from them again on the line. Always hard to step from maiden grade into a C1 (with more weight) but he looks like he’ll go through the grades. OLD MICK didn’t come up last preparation. Well related and imposing type who should have matured away from the track. Nice trial leading in. EXCERPT was big against the pattern last start. DIFFERENTIATOR reunites with senior rider Shaun O’Donnell. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 6 – 10 Suggested Bet – BEAU ZOOM WIN RACE 7 BRAVE DREAM had looked like she was screaming out for 1400m and based off the turn of acceleration she showed last start at 1200m this race should be even more up her alley. Not many horses win in C1 company immediately after their maiden win but she does look progressive and can settle midfield and come down the centre with a big finish. SWIFT GONDO pulled herself into the ground first-up. Drops back in grade and could sneak under the guard. HOLYOAKE was a winner last start from a similar position to where she maps in this. CASA ROSADA has always shown glimpses. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – BRAVE DREAM WIN RACE 8 TONKATUFF is just a NMWLY specialist. Last two win have been in this grade and for an older horse who has come back down through the ratings he gets taken care of and gets a big chance to notch his third win in the exact same grade. Chris Parnham picks up the ride and he should go close to winning two on the bounce. CAERHELAN was out of the winner’s circle for a long while but Ross Price has her back firing on all cylinders. Hard to hold out from the draw. CRISTAL DANE has been racing brilliantly against the pattern. Finally gets conditions to suit. Keep safe. PREVAILING WINDS ran well last start considering where all the winners were coming from. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – TONKATUFF WIN RACE 9 SNICKERDOODLEDANDY is one that punters won’t miss. Her run in the Belgravia Stakes was completely luckless and if she had seen daylight at any stage looked like she would have gone close to winning. Chris Parnham picks up the ride, she steps to a more suitable 1400m, has tactical speed to hold a position in the run and can peel to the outside with a powerful turn of acceleration. MAGICAL DREAM was simply not entitled to win last start. They walked, she sat back and still ran them down. Will likely get conditions to suit and can remain undefeated without surprising. KISSONALLFORCHEEKS is drawn wide but one of the few fillies with tactical speed. SOLAIA burst onto the scene last start and Lucy Warwick looks the perfect rider for her. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 4 – 10 Suggested Bet – SNICKERDOODLEDANDY WIN RACE 10 ORISTANO has come of age this preparation. Was a brilliant trial alongside Celebrity Queen and took that to the 1000m maiden win. Given a 10/10 by Joey Azzopardi when winning a C3 three starts ago and since then has been racing well without any luck in 60+ Graduations. Evenly graded affair but looks well placed. COCKYJOY is a talented mare on her day and probably the most talented of the Jimmy Grieve runners. Has been more than competitive in tougher than this. DOUBLE JEOPARDY was scratched from Saturday to save for this. REQUISTION made them look silly last start at 30-1 and can do so again. Numbers: 5 – 10 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – ORISTANO WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1 4,5,6,7 4 2,4,6 Quaddie (Race 7 – 10) 2 1,3,4,6,7,8,9 1,2,3,4,5,8,10 1,5,9,10 Market Market
