Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on April 2, 2025April 2, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 NICCIMOTA is quick but she’s always a bit vulnerable late. Hopefully the straight 1000 experience will bring her on and she can safely find the outside fence. Smaller field in theory = less pressure and if that’s the case then she’s found a very winnable race. She’ll have plenty of knockers but this does look her best chance yet. STARCHASER wasn’t too bad first-up down the straight. COZZIE’S CHOICE improves with shades and Pike sticks. RAY’S SAUCE went far too keenly early fresh. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – NICCIMOTA WIN RACE 2 LUCKY I AM gives the JP Taylor yard a genuine look in at a rare 1000m straight double. Jim’s horses are going far better down the straight than they did 3 – 4 years back and given she’s got the speed and the barrier (and the form through Amaroo Star) this sets up as a great winning chance. GREY REVOLUTION looked home before Point Rocks burst through out of absolutely nowhere. COUNTESS OF KENNA was in a 0 – 71 trial recently (not a maiden trial) and ran minors at each run last prep. RED AUTUMN has shown ability throughout his career. Expecting him to run another honest race. Numbers: 10 – 6 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – LUCKY I AM WIN RACE 3 SHAMILLIAN MISS was getting to the line strongly at her return to racing behind impressive and tough winner Awesome Boy. That galloper was given a huge push by trainer Bruce Kay post-race and so happy to follow the form through here with the filly. Just needs to find a back to follow into the race. GOD’LL GETYA went into the 3 year old Classic first-up last preparation which suggests that Mitch Pateman has plenty of time for him. Recent trial win was huge (6L) – Pads on a red flag. SPANK APPEAL is getting very close to a win. HYPERREAL was really good fresh down the straight. Numbers: 10 – 4 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – SHAMILLIAN MISS WIN RACE 4 CARAWAY ran a really good race second-up last campaign and the recent trial win suggested that she was in for a good preparation. Another awkwardly drawn filly who will need the right run from a tricky alley. FOXY RASCAL was backed as if unbeatable first-up but didn’t fire a single shot. Respect the volume of money. SWINDLE THE DOUGH couldn’t handle the pressure in a fast run 1400 behind Sister Talk. JEKYLL ISLAND trialled up really well and the got himself into some bother first-up. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – CARAWAY WIN RACE 5 REDBACK FLYER put the writing on the wall first-up. He had trialled well over 1200m at Pinjarra and then resumed at 1400m when finding the line behind all the way winner Sister Talk. She goes around in a C3 at Ascot on Wednesday and if she runs Top 3 the form will look really good. May still need further but have to side up with him here. PARISH PRINCE comes through the same race and was nearly 2L behind Redback Flyer. ALITTLE SCOONER was nabbed in the final stride. Drawn poorly but fit and can be put into it. NOBLE TOUCH nearly held on last start when ridden forward. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 6 – 13 Suggested Bet – REDBACK FLYER WIN RACE 6 MISS WALL STREET has been building towards a win all prep. First-up finished third behind Premium Girl, second-up finished third behind Our Rocky Bay (winner producing race). Drawn to get every favour and looks to be racing like a mile will suit. GOLDEN DORE continues to run well but looks to have lost some of the sprint in his legs as he’s stepped out over ground. BLACK FOR CASH descended upon them last start. Giaan O’Donnell can park him out wide with her 4kg claim and stay out of trouble. LOVA SESSION is double accepted on Wednesday and Thursday. Both winnable races but has a barrier Wednesday. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – MISS WALL STREET WIN RACE 7 GREAT EMOTION has her first outing for Michael Grantham and when you consider that A) she’s a filly with upside; and B) that Macciateau won first-up in a 60+ Graduation at Ascot out of the trial, it’s hard not to side up with her. Always liked her. AMARLIME is another Adam Durrant / William Pike runner who is duly accepted for Wednesday at Ascot and Thursday at Pinjarra. If she urns here will be hard to beat. DON’T TRUST JUDAS has run three second placings since joining Stef Vahala. Had to sustain a run last start and peaked late but did also loom like he was going to win by 3. GAV HAS SPOKEN is racing well. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 2 – 10 Suggested Bet – GREAT EMOTION WIN RACE 8 CHOP SUEY has won two races in his life and they’re both down the 1000m straight. The last time he raced here he finished 2L off Rocking Gem, Shooting Spirit and Just Saint James. This looks a lovely opportunity to return to the winner’s circle. LOST GRAVITY is no stranger to the straight. Jarrad Noske just needs to replicate (somehow) his weaving ride on Point Rocks and expect that Lost Gravity will be more than measuring up. Plenty of speed and he’ll sit back and have last crack at them. SOMETHING ROYAL was the beneficiary of an aggressive ride from Chanel Cooper last start. Ride won the race. SIMPLY THINKIN’ is Top 4 on either day. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – CHOP SUEY WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,4,5,6,10,13,14 2,5,7 2,5,7 1,2,3,7 Market Market
