Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on January 21, 2025January 21, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 MONACO CALLING is drawn the outside fence, has the gate speed to hold a prominent position and Shaun O’Donnell has a great strike race in these often tricky little straight races. Think she can win on debut. FAVOURITE SONGS is the logical danger and possibly even favourite? Her last start was fourth behind subsequent winners Supernatural, Daytona Pete and De Grandhomme. Super form but scratched twice in between outings. SATURDAY SESH showed speed as a 2 year old. SOMETHING ROYAL next best. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – MONACO CALLING WIN RACE 2 CAPABLE ANGEL went around last week at Bunbury over 1400m and simply didn’t see out the distance. Backing up 7 days later she attacks a race down the 1000m straight and she should be able to jump and run her way towards the outside rail. This is more suitable than last week. LOTSAMERIT hasn’t raced for 680 days since March 2023, but her recent trial was strong. STARCHASER has to overcome the inside barrier disadvantage but showed in her trial she’s got ability. PRIZED RECRUIT next best. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – CAPABLE ANGEL WIN RACE 3 KLEVA CONNED ran a really cheeky race at nearly 100-1 behind subsequent 3 year old 0MWLY victor Precious God and then last start was pretty stiff when travelling strongly behind a tiring leader. The way Ash Maley’s team is going she’s worth consideration at a price. MAGNIFICENT MIA trialled really well. If she had drawn a gate would happily have sided up with her. REBELNADO trialled like a horse who would appreciate stepping out over 1300m on debut. Was only just winding up late in his 950m Lark Hill heat. AHREA trialled soft for a junior rider and was consistently there abouts last campaign. Numbers: 12 – 13 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – KLEVA CONNED EACHWAY RACE 4 BIRD ON A WIRE was backed into $1.80 last start and it was not pretty viewing for her supporters. She got caught up in a horrible traffic jam with nowhere to go, unable to build momentum at any stage. One last chance for her. TRIPLE THE CHANT was an enormous run on debut. Missed away, held up in the straight and hit the line hard. Big follow. GRINGO went around 100-1 first-up and finished third behind a nice one in Too Soon. IMPRESSIVE JEWEL would probably have preferred to draw out so she could wind up. Numbers: 7 – 12 – 5 – 9 Suggested Bet – BIRD ON A WIRE WIN RACE 5 PLAY FAIR could be the ‘progressive’ horse in a field of battlers (said with love). He looks like he’ll stay all day and considering how slow they went last start over the 1600m when he was dropping back from a win over 1720m he did a good job to still run fourth in the second fastest L600. DESERT EDGE has been building towards a race like this. His only win was in a 2200m maiden and this is winnable (for all of them). SHAKERATO has been getting better and better with each run and sneaks back into a C1 on the minimum. ROYALE MUCK UP can waltz his way to the top and dictate. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 10 – 4 Suggested Bet – PLAY FAIR WIN RACE 6 INFURIATED was the blog best last start at Ascot in a 0MWLY 1400m and he just didn’t get the run he needed. Still hit the line full of running and now he’s got two things in his favour: 1) he’s out to 1600m; and 2) he’s back in grade into a C3. Scarpside allows them to park three deep from the 800 and make a sustained run. We go again. NO PEER has put it all together and got her confidence back. She’s flying and she’ll get a gun run. EXPELLIARMUS gets very keen in his races and isn’t an easy ride, but he’s going well enough to win one. ROYAL LAW is set a task – first-up, 1600m, 60kg. Numbers: 2 – 9 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – INFURIATED WIN RACE 7 MADE IN MEXICO won first-up last preparation down the 1000m straight at Pinjarra after leading them a merry dancer. The former $320,000 Perth Magic Millions Sale Topper looks an all or nothing strict speed horse and expect they’ll ride him aggressively against the outside fence. CAPRE OMNIA was the best of good things beat one day down the straight (15th May 2024 for those needing reminding – Sorry Big Dyl). ROCK THIS TOWN is a proven straight track commodity. ORACLE SON was only 3L off Premium Choice and Final Siren. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – MADE IN MEXICO WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 5,7,9,12 1,4,5,6,10 2,7,9 1,2,3,6 Market Market
