Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on July 4, 2023July 4, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SUPER ROMANI went around in Saturday’s Aquanita Stakes at Listed Level for the 3 year old boys. He finished under 3.5L off Upper Limits and Demolish and almost deadheat for third with Santa Brae (they even had a cheeky look at the film!). 5 days later he’s back into a 2000m maiden and William Pike’s booking says that Big Col is tired of his $6000 weanling running minor placings (just ask him). FLASH PADDY and PROPHET AND POWER are both having their third career starts and are both stepping out quickly to 2000m. Think it’s the right move from both stables. JIVE KING backs up off 7 days and is whacking away. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – SUPER ROMANI WIN RACE 2 TORONADO BULL looks a horse who is capable of winning more than just a provincial maiden. He ran second to Divine Flirt on debut (beating home Master Alex) and then finished third behind No Peer and subsequent maiden winner Blue Eyed Girl. He’s had the benefit of a preparation and a spell and has again trialled well for his return to racing. OSOPEPPI is clearly not an easy filly to deal with. Mitch Pateman takes over training and makes a few gear changes. Ran a ripper at 100-1 on debut. MASTER ALEX wasn’t far off Toronado Bull last time they met. SECRET ATTIRE has had 4 weeks between runs and her two efforts for the new connections have been sound. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – TORONADO BULL WIN RACE 3 MISS AVA and SILVER BACK JACK both come through the same trial at Lark Hill. Wasn’t much between them in the trial and given they’re both drawn inside gates at Pinjarra, a track which has been suiting those on speed and on fence, they should both run well. MISS AVA was some sort of run in the 3 year old Magic Millions on debut behind Man Crush. She settled in a different postcode to them and rocketed home into fourth. Went into every Blackbook in the State after that effort and now returns to the races. Interesting to see how she goes. REGAL STATUE was forced into the role of pace-maker last start and kicked on strongly. MAIDS TESTIMONY is undefeated at trials and looks to have plenty of raw ability. Numbers: 8 – 7 – 10 – 5 Suggested Bet – MISS AVA WIN RACE 4 MILYEANNUP is a backmarker from a wide gate in a capacity line-up so there’s a few negatives to weigh up but in replay her first two runs have been excellent. Her latest was outstanding from a mile off them and she looks like she’ll only get better over further. Going to roll the dice but wary that we may have pulled the trigger a start too early. KILLARNEY trialled well and ran well on debut. We get a sighter into that form on Wednesday through Wonder Weapon at Belmont. ZAZA ROCK went close on three occasions in her first preparation. Her fresh run was a length or two below her best. SEAUSREIGN went around at odds on debut but found the line. Numbers: 11 – 5 – 10 – 12 Suggested Bet – MILYEANNUP EACHWAY RACE 5 ESPRIT GARCON is on debut and was double nominated for a maiden on Wednesday at Belmont and Thursday at Pinjarra. Tiarnna Robertson quickly made her mind up and has gone to Thursday and it is hard to ignore the burst of speed he showed at trials. TORPEDOMAN ran second to Crystalist and finished ahead of stablemate and subsequent winner Weaponize three starts ago, ran second to Fluro Neuro two starts ago (on a rain affected Pinjarra) down the straight 1000 and is again drawn to park up against the outside fence. LITTLE STRAWBERRY ran a ripper at her WA debut and is drawn to follow. SPEEDY NOVA showed plenty of zip at trials. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 7 – 13 Suggested Bet – ESPRIT GARCON WIN RACE 6 MY BABY BLUE JEAN is a three-time Pinjarra 1000m straight winner and a two-time C5 winner already. She’s been given a mini freshen up coming into this 33 days between runs and when she saluted in her first start for Mitch Pateman she was off 39 days. She’s quick and she’s tough. Plenty to like in the small field. PADDY’S FLYIN’ hasn’t been seen for 29 days since his impressive first-up victory. Drawn the ‘wrong’ side but Paul Harvey jumps on. STARS APLENTY has been hitting the line strongly. STORM LORD is quickly building. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – MY BABY BLUE JEAN WIN RACE 7 BECALOTTI ran second on debut when getting home in all the fastest closing sections and then toyed with rivals in a Belmont maiden when winning by 6L. Went straight from a maiden into a 3 year old 0MWLY 7 days later and was sound behind Amber Glide, finishing ahead of Pompey. Looks a progressive filly. HANG GLIDER hasn’t seen a race of this nature for a long, long time. Since breaking his maiden at Albany he has raced in 5 Saturday races at Ascot. PRO LATTE is another 3 year old who looks well placed taking on the older horses. GOLD KEEPER broke through for a strong maiden win last start. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – BECALOTTI WIN RACE 8 KING KASHOO ran third behind Duchess Of Gossip and Fearless Talk at his first start this preparation and then was doing his best work late and through the line when third behind Money For Old Rope and Belle Journee (who he meets again here). Can settle closer and has returned in good order. MONEY FOR OLD ROPE finally broke through last start after a string of encouraging efforts. Drops half a kilo with Austin Galati going on. BELLE JOURNEE has the shades coming off and there’s a win in her very soon. NORMA STARS is going super and is drawn a better gate. Numbers: 12 – 10 – 6 – 11 Suggested Bet – KING KASHOO WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,3,4,7,13 2,5 2,3,4,7 3,6,8,9,10,11,12 Market Market
